I was thinking of my youth–that being a time-frame whereby MLB seemed to have many “stars” in uniform. Can anyone tell me why we fail to see ’stars’ routinely in this era of today?
Fredi presided over one of the biggest collaspes in history last year and yet none of the reporters will question any of the moves he makes this year. Maybe they should ask Terry Francona, oh year, he lost his job.
Alright! It would seem that Fredi is actually starting to learn a little something. Uggla being moved down to the 6th spot in the lineup. It would suit me if he wound up in the 8th spot. He’d probably be the highest paid in that spot. Hell, he’s probably the highest paid at #6 too.
Kudos to Gonzalez for playing the starters tonight.

“Heyward should be in the 3-hole after the all star break if he keeps playing well.”
No, he should be in the 3-hole right now. What else does he have to do to get the chance to get the spot in the lineup that we all expect to be his for the next several years?
Dave: Not asking Fredi even more questions about the Sept. 2011 collapse in late June of 2012, when the Braves are in the heat of a division race, is all part of a vast liberal media conspiracy at the ajc. And did you know that there are Martians living Atlanta? I bet the ajc reporters, in conjunction with the federal government, conspired to keep that from us too.
Watching Diamondbacks pitcher Trevor Bauer do his unbelievable long-toss routine. He’s worked way to Braves bullpen sign, throwing all way to LF line. They use a relay man to get the ball back to him.
Moved Heyward to the 2nd spot, he continues to hit… moved Prado to the 3rd spot, he also continues to hit.
No reason to switch them around when the move is working. While I’d rather see Heyward hitting 3rd, I’d also like Fredi to leave things alone if they aren’t broken.
Jerry,Andrelton Simmons’ Fangraph’s WAR is 1.3 in 22 game games compares favorably to Bryce Harper’s WAR of 1.5 in 53 games. Do we officially have a Rookie of the Year race brewing in the NL for the best hitter?
