Efrim: They can erase an 11 game deficit easy with almost 90 games to play. Not saying they will and I hope they don`t but they have deep pockets and can right the ship with the right moves.
You know, I read some of this trade stuff, and I’m just grateful that Vizcaino is on the DL. Otherwise, we’d get folks here ready to stuff all four of those guys in a package for….I dunno, somebody.
You know, I read some of this trade stuff, and I’m just grateful that Vizcaino is on the DL. Otherwise, we’d get folks here ready to stuff all four of those guys in a package for….I dunno, somebody
And that Lucas Sims and Alex Wood can’t get traded until next year. Or else, they’d be outta here for Liriano, right?
It will only raise our already unrealistic hopes and lead to further wailing and gnashing of teeth here and elsewhere once the next monumental losing streak hits…
I think right now it would be pretty easy to identify a hot streak with McCann and Uggla(especially Uggla) solid contact bat on ball would be a hot streak. Couple of 2 hit games back to back- there’s your hot streak. If and when that happens, reshuffle the deck.
They can erase an 11 game deficit easy with almost 90 games to play.
Well, the 1914 Braves were able to do it, and that was only an entire flippin’ century ago, LOL, so yes, overcoming double-digit deficits at the All-Star break ought to be “easy”.
Heyward still doesn’t get the recognition he deserves as the most gifted and talented athlete on this team. So as much as I respect Martin Prado and his incredible work ethic…..when your best hitter, athlete, RBI guy isn’t in the middle of your batting order…..you shouldn’t be managing, period.
Yankees pitchers Pettitte and Sabathia go on the DL a week after the Braves were in Yankee Stadium.
I would like to know if cowdogit, don, or any others, think Roger McDowell might of had anything to do with it.
Do any of you think that Roger might have left some of his DNA and/or cooties on the mound, when he made visits to the Braves pitchers?
Micheal Bourn, Jason Heyward, Martin Prado and Craig Kimbrel al belong on the All-Star team, and Beachy should be voted in too, although he won’t play.
What?!? You mean, that steal of 3B didn’t lead to an overwhelming sense of Pirate Panic that allowed the Phightens to roar back and win the game??? How can that possibly be?
I really did think the Phillies were still the face of the division before the season started. You just can’t continue to keep winning through so many on and off key injuries. They should have never signed Howard to that contract. They’re stuck with many other big contracts as well. Rollins is one that will bite them soon, if it isn’t already.
Efrim, like I said before….Heyward still doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. Not from you, most of the fan base or his own manager.
Was really just joking, Coach. And to be honest, he really does need to put together mroe than just 80 plate appearances to be as recognized as you and me want him to be. Let’s talk September 1st.
someone on here likely said it about the Cards, but what does that have to do with 90 games left in the season and the fact that they are gonna shut down their pitchers later?
JHey has a ways to go for me to 100% believe. He will get there soon. This kid has been through a ton since 2010 with injuries, struggles, the pressure and he’s starting to come out clean on the other side. I just have to see it to know for certain.

They very likely would have won at least one, but I think it’s quite a stretch to say they would’ve won “several”. The Braves ‘95 team was really, really good.
Giants and Cardinals are still two good teams in the NL. Reds have the bullpen and the best hitter on the planet. Nats have a strong pitching staff 1-12. I don’t believe in the D-Backs, Pirates and Mets.
Reckingball (4:23 post): Spelling alert – It is “inquiring” and not “enquiring”. Otherwise, I believe that McDowell is indirectly to blame for every ailment of every MLB pitcher. He must be stopped.
I hate to admit this but I was in favor in trading Prado over the winter if we could a power hitting left fielder. I’m glad he was not traded, he is a certainly an allstar and probably one of MVP of the team. Good job Prado, Go Braves.
