“People laugh at Atlanta baseball? I don’t think that’s true Georgie…there are about 10-15 franchises that would DIE to have the success we’ve had over the recent years”

Post 2005, our record is mediocre. That 15 year run is long in the rear view mirror now given the current economics of the game, the bad TV deal and current ownerhsip we have right now.

We have a team that is in the upper levels of mediocrity.

Some find that acceptable, others don’t.

The Nationals are first in the NL in overall ERA (3.11) and starters ERA (3.16), and third in bullpen ERA (3.03).

The Braves are tied for ninth in overall ERA (4.01), 12th in starters ERA (4.14) and eighth in relief ERA (3.77).

DS1 — It depends on which Yankee fans you are talking to.

Sure they are disappointed they are not getting to the series like they did from 1996 through 03, but they know that when October comes they will be there and always have a shot. They do not panic in the regular season.

They will be there again. Now, health permitting they should get back to the series, I think its a tall order for Texas to get bck there 3 yrs in a row.

They took a blow with CC and Pettite on the shelf for now, but if past behavior is any indication, they will find a way to get what they need at the deadline.

I cannot say the same about our bean counters at the deadline & it goes way way above Frank Wren whom I have defended as doing a good job for the most part.

Nice to know our Crusading Everyman’s snark isn’t just reserved for us:

Comcast Twitter Guy: “my apologies for the trouble, can i help?”

‘OB: “Yeah, if you can fix my reception for more than 24 hrs.”

Gold. Frickin’ gold.

From 2006 through today, Braves have the 9th most wins of the 30 teams in MLB. For a down period, still pretty decent.

I think it’s idiotic for someone to think any fan is ok with not winning… We all want to win!! Some people understand that it’s not possible to win every single year much less 14 in a row!! You can run a very good organization and have more money than everyone and still not win!!!

All Demaryius (Bebe) Thomas did at GT is run deep and lay the wood when he blocked!! Maybe the meanest blocker at the WR position I’ve ever seen in college… Kinda like Hines Ward was in the NFL!!
Didn’t help him learn route running much when he had Tim Tebow in Denver either!! I bet he’s excited to finally have a real QB throwing to him!!

I guess the only good thing about the heat is that there is virtually no humidity to speak of in ATL right now. At the airport it is 98 degrees with just 26% humidity (not bad at all for the south).

That is part of being a fan — of course there is nothing we can do about it.

But we do not have to like it. Don’t have to like it when guys you really count on like Venters and Uggla just go out there and stink up the joint.

Only civil thing I can do is Boo them until they do better. Philly fans do that, why can;t we?

The next time I read a blog, I hope that it does not disappoint me as much as this particular one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, nonetheless I truly thought you would probably have something useful to say. All I hear is a bunch of moaning about something that you could possibly fix if you weren’t too busy seeking attention.
