Willingham isn’t an option unless we are willing to trade for him. And I still don’t see all that depth at pitching equating into qaulity rotation, look at all the problems we have now. And next year isn’t any different with the possibility that JJ won’t be offered arb, Beachy possibly not making it back at all next year, Hudson another year older and I doubt all of the physical issues gone, Hanson is what he is nothing more than a 2 or 3 starter and then you lump all of these together Delgado, Minor, Teheran and Medlen to which none of them have shown they are ready to lead a club. I just don’t see all of this quality everyone has faith in for next season, I see the quantity by not quality.
Well said AT and I agree with this statement 100%. I just hope Wren sees the rotation as we do because this team really needs an ace this year and in the future. Greinke would be a really good addition for this team.

Surprised the Braves weren’t really in on Puig, especially after working so hard on Soler and missing out.
I’m not even going to attempt any more guesses at next year’s OF anymore… Heyward and two stiffs would be my guess.
That sounds like a band name. Heyward And The Stiffs. A blues band, no doubt.

Bauer’s got a chance to be a good one, no doubt, but he gets the hurt-locker tonight. He’ll get fastball-happy, as do most rooks with a good one, and that’s a bad idea against the Braves.

They’ll eat part of Dempster’s contract in a trade means they want a top prospect and probably a little more. Same with Garza.
I’m with Lew – we ain’t getting a top rotation guy. Middle guy that’ll eat some innings up.

I’m sure the Braves will make Bourn an offer, probably something around 4/40, maybe even 5/50 (pipe dream to me but you never know) but he’ll probably turn it down and go elsewhere. They’ve had interest in BJ Upton in that past. With Desmond Jennings already there, Rays don’t have a need for Upton I would think so I wouldn’t be shocked at all to see Wren go after him even if he has to overpay (which would surprise me even less). The CF depth, in term of suitbale everyday players, in this organization is atrocious IMO.

In my humble opinion, both Dempster and Garza are not top of the rotation guys. Both are solid 2’s when they are on.
Not exactly who is our #1 right now. Hanson or Huddy? (and some would say that neither of them is a top of the rotation guy either.)

Depends on how you see the 3, I guess. Heyward is more of a damage guy, Bourn and Prado have been a superb tandem, and like that. That’s just me, though. As long as they’re both hitting, not a whole lot of difference where they slot, certainly not enough to impact a single game. Maybe you get some significance over 90 games, but both are going to get a little slumpy at some point. Then Fredo can surprise us all again, and the whole 2-or-3 thing is moot.

DS1, I don’t know if Hudson is an ace anymore, or if one would have ever considered him a true ace. I don’t know what an “ace” is to be 100% honest, but I assume it’s a pitcher more consistantly dominant than Hudson. I know his record is unreal when given a 3 or 4 run lead in his career and some might say that automatically qualifies him an true #1.

Medlen needs to be in the rotation. Streched him out in AAA and wasted 2 weeks. Why, just to put him back in pen to pitch 1 inning in games already 4 runs down. What’s up with that. Pinchey Idiots.
Either Minor or Deldago one needs to go down for a little while. Hard to win with 2 kids in rotation back to back. Either one would be fine with me but not both this year. What we really need to do is package at least 1 of Mike Minor / RHP Randall Delgado RHP / Julio Teheran for good vet starter.

Unfortunately, by the time you’d realize that they had “heated up”, they would already have used up a lot of the “heat”, in spots where it would do the least good. You’d then move them back up in the order, right about the time they would cool off. Buying high and selling low, constantly.

What we really need to do is package at least 1 of Mike Minor / RHP Randall Delgado RHP / Julio Teheran for good vet starter.
So,again, we have trade requests involving Julio Teheran because Polished couldn’t get the job done and has an ERA over 5 for his career. We overdraft the kid #7 overall in 2009, he pitches poorly, and then he costs us Julio Teheran because he pitches poorly.
Makes a ton of sense to me.
