This game is a prime example of the degree of fight the Braves have…..overcoming that poor action by Venters and capturing the mo back again…..we will and Atlanta will win this one IMO.

Will the Braves please do something with Johnny Venterbumb —please throw this guy off this team he is the worst relief pitcher in the game today.
He has to go I don;t care how he is gone I never want to see him pitch another game for the Braves again. Hate the guy, despise him.
What can Braves fans do to run him outta town. Boo him, make his life miserable the way he has made our lives miserable this yr.

They’re not going to give up on Venters this quickly. He’s been bad this year, but he was exceptional in 2010 and 2011. He should be used in lower leverage situations, though the Braves don’t really have any better options.
Sadly, Venters’ best days may be behind him. Great relievers tend to burn out quickly.

I read the article on John Rocker that was in the Macon paper yesterday and he casually talked about doing roids “because everyone else was too”. TO have some imbecile come on here and dirty up the reps of players who have worked hard and made MLB on their own merits and without drugs or roids can’t be ignored. The liars who say these things need to be told what they are – troulble making liars who have no proof or they would be posting it.

Kimbrell is the real deal, the only bulpen pitcher we can relly trust this yr.
Its too bad about the decline of Venters but there is really no situation they can use him in. Gwinnett is the only place you can hide him. Clearly he cannot be trusted this yr.

JNIck — that would be MORONIC against Bauer. He would strike out 12-15 guys if he starts the bomb squad.
Bauer is going to be Cy candidate before you know it and the starters need a good look at his repertoire. I think Gonzalez will stay with this lineup, for the most part. Maybe Chipper would sit.

Nolie and I talked last year about how much better of a 2nd baseman AGon made Uggla. The difference between Simmons and Uggla vs Pastornicky and Uggla is far greater than the difference between Simmons and Pastornicky. SImmons just makes Uggla better like AGON did.

Uggla has been rated in the bottom 5 or 6 in baseball almost every year of his career. he is doing better this season for whatever reason (middle of the pack), but he will likely drift back to his usual position again either later this year or next..
defensive metrics are far from set in stone, but when they show a player at one end of the spectrum most every year, its pretty unlikely that he is actually at the other end
This is the majors though, even the worst are pretty good and capable of some great individual plays

Have you guys looked at Simmons’ defensive stats? He’s already 5th among MLB shortstops in Defensive Runs Saved and his UZR/150 is off the charts, 54.1; almost half again higher than anyone in baseball.
I’m always a little suspect of defensive stats, but these numbers just back up what we see. Wow, this kid is impressive.
