The two people who actually deserve to make the ASG game–Bourn and Prado–won’t. Such a shame.

Fredi-the-freeloader didn’t drop Ugglier low enough in the batting order. Behind Simmons would have been better.

Uggla at second. What a joke. Brandon Phillips redefines the position and is a highlight reel every night he takes the field. When does this guy get his due? Multiple gold glover…batting over .300 and one of the nicest guys in the game. Uggla. Give me a break.

I don’t know if Dan will ‘come out of it’ before the All-Star Break, hope so, but he’s gonna tear it up in the second half and some folks around here will be eating some words…of course none of those ‘words’ would ever be spoken to his face. Besides, if a fight breaks out the NL will be glad they got him.

Joe said it is hard to know when to pull a pitcher. Maybe a clue would be when the pitcher has given up four runs and is getting rocked. Maybe he could take a cue from the Kirk Gibson.

Bourn and Prado not in? What a joke!

You vote for a player who has been doing well all season not just right now. Uggla carried this team at one point, he has been slumping lately but still deserves to be in the game. Those of you who are saying he shouldnt be are on the wrong site because this is a BRAVES blog not a REDS blog, Felix, Mr Scott, eddie57, rich.

Oh and bostonbravo tell him he is a butthole to his face, you wont have a face for long after Uggla’s giant arms destroys it, go back to boston u nut.

Uggla might not be lighting it up, but Phillips isn’t exactly an offensive stud right now either (which is what fans vote on).

Just deal with it, it is what it is. At least it’s a Braves 2b and not a Faillies one.

Unfortunately, Uggla is experiencing a persistent slump just prior to the All-Star break. He had a ton of RBI chances tonight but went 0-4, reaching once on a hit by pitch.

Still, a revamped lineup scored 8 runs, chasing the Arizona starter in the second inning.

Hudson pitched outstanding, surrendering just one solo homer.

Very good win by the Braves at home against a hot Diamondbacks club that until tonight was putting together a string of victories to close in on the Dodgers in the NL West.

Good win tonight. Deal with all who are going to Allstar Game. Can’t do anything about it.

I just wish the guys would shave, use to be that the Braves Organization required it. Why don’t they get back to that.

Even Chipper had a good game. Hope he plays more since they are at home.

So the only Brave who didn’t have a hit tonite is the leading vote-getter at 2B? What a joke the All Star game is. Everybody in the lineup had at least 2 hits except Hudson, with one. Uggla was 0 for 4 and left 4 on base. He sure has pulled the wool over some people’s eyes. The fans don’t deserve to be voting for the All Star game. It’s just like the Presidential race in this country, half the people don’t even know what’s going on in either case.

—————————————-

As it has been re-iterated time and again, ASG game participants being decided by the fans is criminal and an absolute joke. The other day Angel Pagan of SF was 8th in OF voting and Ian Kinsler out in TEX was beating out Robinson Cano who has been the best 2B in the league this year. It’s just sad and almost to the point of embarrassing.

A lot of the anti-Uggla rhetoric in these blog replies are frankly stupid! The man is in a slump, but he’s hardly the first baseball player to be in a hitting slump. Some of you idiots would be carping about Babe Ruth and Henry Aaron as they both had slumps also!

I wrote this before, but some of you apparently spend so much time in your parent’s basement that you’re having a hard time reading these facts. So, I will try again.

Despite Uggla’s ongoing slump, he is in the lead on the team for runs scored and currently tied with a red-hot Jason Heyward at 11 homers. Heyward earned his move to the number two slot in the lineup and did great with it. He’s only one RBI off the team lead, with 42. Freddie Freeman just caught Uggla and passed him with 43 RBI.

For the first three months of the season, Uggla led the Braves in runs scored, RBI’s, home runs, and OPS. And some of you want to cut him off the team as being a waste of salary! It is truly pathetic!

All I can say is that some of you need to grow up and get a job!

The reason Dan Uggla is the leading vote getter for the NL All-Star team at second base is that the man’s performance so far this season makes him the best second baseman in the NL.

Uggla will make alot of people eat infield dirt in the 2nd half. He showed he was a fighter last year,by a strong 2nd half finish. He still is leading the team in RBI’s even at a sub .250 BA. At least he shows up ,not like some players on that team.:)

uggla is 18th in fielding % , hits 250 and walks a lot(which is an improvement), ALL STAR? You syncophants who think he is are woefully lacking in objectivity. Come on look at the stats and ask yourself, bases loaded,2 strikes, would YOU want uggla at the plate?

Lee Maye

This likely was Uggla’s best half-season. The 2nd half is likely to be .188 which is what last year’s first half was.
The voters must not be paying attention or the AL voters want him on the team to have an easy K. The guy is nowhere near an AS. On target for 180 K’s and 16 errors. He has to be the worst 2B in the NL on defense. Hopefully, some AL team will see something they like, and want him. We need to get rid of that salary. Infante, we miss you.
