Guys, let’s give Fredi a little bit of a break. Keeping Minor out there in the 5th only ensures his demotion to AAA ball. Had he pulled him and brought Medlen in for relief it would just give Wren a reason to give Minor another start to see if he can turn it around. Instead of getting pulled and only giving up 4 runs, Minor gives up 7 and I’m positive he won’t be starting in the Majors again this season. He’s done.

I’ll say it again, I really hope Minor and Delgado’s major league struggles don’t cause the Braves to trade Teheran for Garza. That would be incredibly stupid. Hoping they just take a deep breath and don’t overpay.
Starting pitching is definitely a need, though. Just not enough to win the division, imo.

I say it once and will say it agin — “You do not win games with scouting reports” Sometimes talent evaluators are right but many times they are wrong. To think that they valued him over Matt Harrison well, hey, the talent evaluators are human. Plain and simple.
I don;t hate Miinor, he just is not very good. Nothing personal.

once again, get “clowned” by a guy making a spot-start…. that’s a sign that we’re struggling offensively. Used to be 3rd in runs scored, now we’re 8th. And we continue to fall….

Man, that was one ill advised deal A-Bomb.
Themid 80’s would not have been as bad had that deal not been made. And if Craig Mc Murtry and Pascul Perez had more good yrs for us would have been a respectable team.
And that era gave us one big bust in Braves histry in Andes Thomas — remember the Thomas for Barry Bonds rumors in the late 80’s.

It just seems like developing starting pitchers has become a major struggle for the Braves. Davies and Reyes were huge busts, Chuck James washed out after a couple of years, and Minor has been disappointing so far. It’s too soon to get a read on Teheran, but it seems like his star has fallen a bit, too.
Hanson has probably been the best young pitcher we’ve developed over the last 6-7 years, but I would argue he’s even been a little underwhelming considering he was once arguably the top pitching prospect in the game.

i think wren feels pressure to have to make a move to try to contend this year because its chipper’s last year…..it never to good to make a move because you feel like you have too, thats when you get hosed. look at the roster objectively wren…not going happen this year, protect the young arms and trade some vets for prospects…not prospects for vets

Disaffected — Horacio Ramirez can be added to the list too in part because of injuries.
Chuck James, think he had some very serious shoulder issues.
Charlie Morton has not been that good either and now he is on the shelf with surgery.
Its not an exact science and they all do not work out. Even in the days of the young guns Pete Smith did not work out, neither did Derek Liliquist and Steve Avery’s career got derailed early due to arm trouble.
Avery had 3 good yrs.

Agree. Outside of Heyward, Freeman, Kimbrel, Simba(so far) everyone has been average. Delgado has a high upside and so does Teheran, but alot of the other guys seem to be question marks.

I don’t think it will drop to the way it was in the 70’s and 80’s A-Bomb as far as attendance goes.
But if the ownership sends the wrong message to fans in the next couple of yrs by allowing Bourn, Mc Cann and Prado walk, who knows.
The way Mc Cann is going not sure I would give him 75 million for 5 yrs right now.
Paul Bryd is as bad as the others with his post game commetary — excuses for Minor.

It was a decent roadtrip, we went .500. 3-3. In NY and BOS. Woulda liked to win 1 more in Boston, but hey, we didn’t just stink over the trip. And yeah, we do have the toughest interleague schedule…

Homers on T.V. now crying about most difficult interleague schedule. My God this franchise is nothing but a bunch of excuse makers. Maybe these idiots should do their homework for once. The braves have a terrible record at home, and they have a terrible record against National League East rivals. And the braves will have to beat these teams to have a winning season. The Nationals, and the Mets are the only 2 teams in Eastern division that have a winning record against the East division. The braves, Marlins, and Phils are getting killed by these 2 teams. This team is a ,500 team at best, and if they can’t beat the East rivals, they want be .500. Listening to this mental midget manager is so embarrassing. PLEASE-PLEASE-PLEASE move McCann and Uggla out of the 3-4 holes–they are both killing scoring opportunities! Try them at 7-8 for a few games. Can’t be any worse. 1 Simmons ss, 2 Bourn cf, 3 Prado 3b, 4 Heyward rf, 5 Freeman 1b, 6 Hinske/Diaz lf, 7 McCann c, 8 Uggla 2b, 9 pitcher Try it once Freddie–you might like it.
