and yes the ESPn analysts ARE idiots, know nothing retards, has been GM’s and players who don’t understand modern statistical analysis, dumb old jocks
Where are my glasses?!!
Can’t find homeplate!
The best way for other teams to be sure to get the braves out is to let the first 2 get on.
June 24th, 20124:03 pm
Anyone know why chipper isnt at least a DH today?
Delgado and Minor combined to pitch 6 innings.
Illinibrave – they’re at best average. Medlen is at best average too. Pen, starting, whatever you do with the guy, it’s not ordinarily gonna be a whole lot to sneeze at.
Nothing against him, and I love the guy. He’s just an average dough boy pitcher who gets the most out of what he has, which ain’t much.
June 24th, 20124:04 pm
Well the way I see it with McCann is he getting cheaper and cheaper to extend by the game. Might be able to get Mac under 10 mil a season.
Is it day or night? All I can see is a blur.
Ok, I’ll ask Freeman..
nope only when talkig to so called fans who scream and drool on their keyboards over things that they apparently, know nothing about. You have made no less than 5 stupid comments that defy baseball logic, and apparently are uninformed about the players, their roles and their future for the team
As long as we have Minor and Delgado bringing up the rear we will struggle to be above .500 Just can’t really count on them giving you much. Delgado pitched like he had a plane to catch last night, don’t know why Ross didn’t try to slow him up a bit. And Minor has little mound presence, almost like he doesn’t even want to throw it. And then there’s that little matter of not hitting with RISP.
June 24th, 20124:05 pm
Let’s get ready for the usual cap tipping got to keep running him out there post game quotes.
At least Jurrjens had a good game on Friday. That gives us some hope.
Every body talk and write about the Atlanta Pitchers(the worst in the league) and about the monkey donkey manager (the worst in the league)…but what about the players????…What about Mc-truck??, what about the Ugly????, what about the Old chiper Jones???,what about ect.,ect.,ect.,???? and you know the bunch of ect, right????…This team is not a contender…up and down…up and down and in the end…out of the wild car, like the last year…ALL SUCKS!!!!!
Well, if the Bravos lose today it won’t be Heyward’s fault.
June 24th, 2012
because he’s sore. It’s getting beyond absurd with him.
June 24th, 20124:06 pm
I generally agree with you, NickB, but let’s not call folks retards.
more Diaz hate? The guy is the only one on the bench doing his job, and idjits gotta rip him all the time? Get real
June 24th, 20124:07 pm
Let’s see if DOB asks Fredi about some of these quality decisions he has made today.
He is sore from yesterday’s loss.
Well I hope it’d be a priority!!
The Braves could make starting pitching a priority at the trade deadline because of the growing pains of Mike Minor and Randall Delgado and the uncertainty surrounding Jair Jurrjens, tweets Mark Bowman of MLB.com.
“Fredidiot’s job is safe”….REALLY?????
June 24th, 20124:08 pm
Diaz has done a decent job this year. Don’t get the abuse with him either…
@NickB: okay, so clearly you have strong opinions. Can’t believe that you really think Buster Olney, Jayson Stark, Eric Karabell, and Tim Kurkjian are all “retards”. Wow.
Let us see how many runs score against the Braves after two outs and nobody on base.
That was ugly.
Lil' Barry Bailout
Pitching, defense, and a three run homer. The Braves formula for success.
June 24th, 20124:09 pm
You take it I got it.
HAHA this team is a joke. Feels like I’m watching the Norfolk Tides (AAA)

WOW, JUST WOW!!!
Why do the Braves put the shift on Gonzalez who homered down the LF line the last time up?
some of the stuff that gets posted here is mind-numbing
There is one run after two outs and nobody on base.
Like DOB posted all you need to know about Fredi G is this –
(Minor’s last 11 starts: 1 win, 7.16 ERA, 70 hits, 28 walks and 18 HR’s in 60-1/3 innings)
Knowing that he still sends Minor out every 5th day to start and get killed. I guess he likes getting beat…
June 24th, 20124:10 pm
Come on get on that charter with the Braves Youk!!!!!
What the hell………
And that is our gold glove centerfielder. Slows down and then speeds up to just miss the ball. Yep, the future looks bright in the ATL.
Why would Fredi’s job be safe?
What the heck?
That’s what we should’ve done for McCann’s triple too
Nice D, guys!!
Another long losing streak underway as the Youkalis love fest comes to an end.
Where did he end up?
Olney Stary and Kurkijan are reporters, they get scoops, they aren’t really analyst’s. I’m talking the ex GM’s and old players they have on there and MLB Network.
Heyward was hollering “Remember Nate McLouth” when he pointed at Bourn.
June 24th, 20124:11 pm
The only good thing about Fredi is that he isn’t Bobby Valentine.
Braves are getting whooped by the most dysfunctional team in baseball. SMMFH!
I agree it’s tough to contend when you have two holes in the rotation (possibly three if you include Jurrjens). Even Hanson and Hudson have been a little inconsistent. I just don’t know if the Braves have enough pitching this year, even in a very weak NL. Medlen would compete better than Minor, but he’s not the answer to our problems.
If Jurrjens pitches like his old self and Wren can acquire a solid vet like Dempster, I can still see the Braves being a factor. But any less than that and it’s just not going to happen in 2012.
With this many people struggling, I feel safe in saying this team is in DEEP DEEP trouble.
June 24th, 20124:12 pm
WoW! Give up another run, with LITTLE LEAGUE outfield play. UNREAL. What a joke…Bourn and Heyward Great effort….real professional baseball…it’s how the Braves play. It’s the crap that they bring to the ball park. The joke that is Atlanta, just rools on.
Key, I was thinking the same thing!
Another GIVE AWAY day courtesy of Fredi G
June 24th, 20124:13 pm
This series looked so promising during and after Jurrjen’s gem on Friday night, but it has turned into an unmitigated disaster with the starts of Delgado and Minor. Another inning where the Braves had the bases empty and two outs and still allowed a run.
June 24th, 20124:14 pm
I think Fredi’s an idiot as much as any of y’all, but sheesh, he can’t be responsible for everything.
I think this game’s on Minor.
This team being so young anyways has to have starters that you can’t count on. Not guys like Minor who you KNOW will blow up at any time. THAT is where all your inconsistancy comes from.
They have to be strong mentally and hang tough until Wren can get them a really good starter and possibly have Medlen take the last spot.
Keylargo – LOL!!
I must admit , being a pessimist about the Braves is bumming me out and making me snippy and kind of a jerk , my bad everybody, losing optimisim is depressing
The A Bomb
So now it’s clear — Bourn and Heyward LET that ball drop to make the Yewkkker look good in his final Sawx at-bat.
Uggla should have killed that pitched, but it resulted in a mere popup to short.
SADLY FOR THE FANS PRAY IT’S NOT ENOUGH BECAUSE OUR GM IT’S A MORON WITHOUT BALLS WHO DONT CARE WIN
ALL THE FANS HOPE FOR A NICE TRADES OR SOMETHING BUT THAT IT’S NOT GONNA BE HAPPEN ,,,
THIS GM AND THIS TEAM DONT DESERVE BE SUPPOURTED BY THE FANS ATTENDING TO THE STADIUM … IT’S NOT FUNNY THROW THE MONEY TO THE TRASH BUYING A TICKETS FOR WATCH A LOSER TEAM
OK FRANK WREN IF YOU WANT A SUPPOURT BY THE FANS BUILD A GOOD TEAM IDIOT
TRADE FOR A GOOD PITCHER , TRADE FOR A GOOD BATTER AND TRADE FOR OTHER GOOD ARM WHO CAN HELP THE TEAM IN THE BULLPEN …
IF YOU DONT WANT TO MAKE A GOOD TRADES THIS TEAM IS GONNA BE FINISH IN 5TH PLACE UNDER .500 AND WITH ONE OF THE LOW ATTENDANCE IN MLB
SORRY FANS BUT IT’S THE TRUE AND OTHER TRUE IS MICHAEL BOURN IS GONNA BE TRADED BEFORE TRADE DEADLINE AND WHO KNOWS MAYBE TIM HUDSON AND JAIR JURRJENS TOO
AFTER TRADE DEADLINE THE BRAVES IT’S GONNA PLAY WITH CONSTANZA IN CF AND STARTING ROTATION WITH HANSON DELGADO MINOR TEHERAN AND MEDLEN/REDMOND
BEACHY’S INJURY AND 1ST HALF SLUMP BY MCCAAN , RECENT SLUMP BY UGGLA AND FREEMAN AND RECURRENT TRIPS TO DL BY CHIPPER IS KILLLING THE TEAM PLUS THE INCONSISTENT IN THE BULLPEN BY VENTERS AND OFLAHERTY
AND OF COURSE THE BIG CLOWN IN ATLANTA NAMED FREDI GONZALEZ WHO IS THE ATLANTA BRAVES “MANAGER”
c’mon Braves…. a 6-run rally would be a perfect birthday present!
June 24th, 20124:15 pm
I was at that game in Phoenix when Heyward cleaned McLouth’s clock. It was awesome.
fredy….what???…I don’t know….it is a joke!!!!
Not that I’m tipping my cap or anything, but Boston has the 2nd most runs scored in baseball.
(Rob from SC)
Got to get Uggla and Freeman going soon
FG is responsible for the Sox players hating Bobby V….
All caps? Really?
“Minor isn’t good enough to wash Jo-Jo Reyes’ jockstrap”
Would not go that far yet Trey though there are errie similarities.
Its getting to that point if it keeps up through next yr but Jo Jo might be the worst and I mean the very worst SP we have had in the 46 yrs of ATL Braves baseball, he was and still is such an underachiever.
How he was so highly thought of is beyone belief.
Jo Jo has to be among the worst SP’s ever in the game.
June 24th, 20124:16 pm
EVen if they lose, it’s a .500 road trip. Pretty good if you ask me.
Amazing that Uggla may be the Braves lone rep at the ASG, thought Bourn and Prado deserve consideration
June 24th, 20124:17 pm
Gosh, the Braves suck so bad.
That pitched high and outside
Sometimes you need to think outside the box. What would be wrong with Minor and Medlen set up to split each game. Have each set up to pitch 4 innings and adjust if Minor is having a good day or bad day. Bring up Tehran and let him do the same thing with Delgado. All 4 of these pitchers have trouble getting past 4 innings. Tell them this in advance so they can bear down the 4 innings they are in there. At a minimum you find out which of these pitchers is going to get better and which isnt, and you give them all experience. Then you have Hudson, Hanson, and JJ to pitch the other 3 games with the rest of our pen ready to go.
Don’t know about that last strike call on Heyward.
June 24th, 20124:18 pm
CLOWNS – good screen name. Head on over in the morning to pick up your check from SSDI…..
You clearly qualify.
June 24th, 2012
That pitched high and outside
Yes it was
It’s actually neat to see a team that wants to improve itself by trade in late June. Very refreshing.
Youkilis will help whatever team he’s going to — suspect the White Sox.
Watching Jo Jo Reyes pitch was one of the worst things in the world. You are correct he is probably one of the worst Atlanta Pitchers of all time.
June 24th, 20124:19 pm
We aren’t going to trade Bourn or Hudson (hudson has 10/5 rights). I reckon we end up getting someone like Garza . I would love to get Garza, Reed Johnson and Shawn Camp for a package of players
sʇuǝɯɯoɔ sdɐɔ ןןɐ spɐǝɹ ǝuo ou
Fredi Gigante-Craig Kimbrel says “hi!!”
June 24th, 20124:20 pm
I’m amazed that the Braves have anyone voted into the all star game. Their talent isn’t all you are led to believe by the cheerleaders in the media. Outside Atlanta, few know much about any of our players with the exception of Chipper.
Speaking of All-Star games, it’s clear to me now more than ever which manager will NEVER have that responsibility.
Way to step up Delgado. Way to step up Minor. Way to keep whiffing Freeman, Uggla and McCann. And that misplay in CF by Heyward and Bourn–man that was real slick.
This team is becoming a clown act.
June 24th, 20124:21 pm
Guys, let’s give Fredi a little bit of a break. Keeping Minor out there in the 5th only ensures his demotion to AAA ball. Had he pulled him and brought Medlen in for relief it would just give Wren a reason to give Minor another start to see if he can turn it around. Instead of getting pulled and only giving up 4 runs, Minor gives up 7 and I’m positive he won’t be starting in the Majors again this season. He’s done.
If Gilmartin is “Minor Lite,” yikes.
We need to adjust our lineup based on who is hot. Right now Heyward needs to be hitting 3rd, and the rest of the batting order needs to move down. We are leaving too many guys on base.
June 24th, 20124:22 pm
Rick Mahler’s on line three, Tomahawk Mafia.
@Nolie — The pent up anger from September is not forgotten, and sometimes its deserved.
This is a mediocre team. Some good things to like others not so. It has been a frustratingly streaky year and no one with any real stroke seems to care to do anything about it.
Our GM is hamstrung due to $$$$$$$$$$$ and Fredi is doing the best he can with what he has to work with.
Key injuries, disappointing seasons from key people and wonder why there is no Braves LUV fest when they lose????????
Not to mention one of their supposedly top young pitchers of the future (Minor) has the mental MLB toughness of a wet noodle and cannot do the job
Negativity ——— A fair part of it is deserved. I think the nay sayers have been fair with this team look what happeneed in September.
And there is no change on the horizon for the near future.
June 24th, 20124:23 pm
oh yeah, forgot about kimbrel…….only posistion player, then.
I want minor in the bullpen I think he could have some success there just as Miller has with the Redsox.
Youk traded to the Braves for Mike Minor, Juan Francisco, Fredi G, Roger McDowell, and Frank Wren.
Man, we hosed them on that one……
Who is voting for Uggla for the all star game? I don’t get it. He doesn’t deserve it, no way.
guys losing is actually the best thing that can happen to this franchise this year….we need to be SELLERS this year not buyers….if the phrase “ryan dempster will save us” ever comes out of your mouth during the season then you’ve reached a bad place….sell off the pricey vets uggla bourn mcann hudson for prospects and let the non chipper era in braves baseball begin….load up the farm system and tons of money to spend….the future is much brighter if you just admit this team this year isnt going to cut it and needs to be broken up
Amazing, the homer braves T.V. clowns were trying to make excuses for Bourn&Heyward. These idiots trying to blame the bad news bears outfield play on the sun. Typical of everyone in the braves organization, from the G.M, to the manager, and now the announcers. Bottomline is this franchise is a joke, from the owners, to the G.M. to the manager, to the players, especially Larry LameASS Jones. Maybe the braves can pickup Youk, he would be a nice #4 hitter in braves lineup, since he is hitting .229. Add to that the braves have (3) AAA pitchers in their starting rotation, and you can see what complete idiots Wren&Fred Flintstone are. These clowns still think the braves have the pitching to get to the playoffs. The only playoffs this pitching staff will get to is in Gwinnett. After today the braves starting pitchers will rank 15th out of 16 N.L. teams in E.R.A. Go Braves.
June 24th, 20124:24 pm
Minor sukks, and Janes yer aunt, there
All the good vibes that were briefly rekindled by the two wins in NY and JJ’s impressive start have been dissipated by these back to back beat downs by the Bosox.
Minor should be sent down, McCann pops up again with a chance to get a big hit, Uggla is AWOL, Chipper is “sore.”
Fredi is the one who has to be the fall guy for this mess. But Wren vaunted inactivity has left this team grievously flawed. Cody Ross was the kind of bat who would have helped this team more than another year of Diaz.
bad game…. Minor’s struggles (again), we need a SP, maybe 2 if JJ can’t hold up
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
