Just not a major league pitching staff. Sad.
You can always count on the Braves to scrap their way back only to have our pitching staff to wet their pants in the bottom half of the inning.
The Brewers are my second favorite team
for taking Livan Hernandez off our hands. You just know the Braves would’ve brought him back at some point.
Least unsurprising home run ever.
So it was surprising?
Minor has been a huge disappointment, hard to believe he was actually a top 10 pick. At this point he following JoJo Reyes footsteps.
Lil' Barry Bailout
I guess this latest walk was more than Fredi could bear.
June 24th, 20123:26 pm
We have serious pitching problems….
Holy Jeez! Minor needs to go.
One of these 2 clowns (Delgado or Minor) needs to go back to the minors and sign a starter that can get past 5 innings if we want ANY chance of making of playoffs this year.
Fredi should have never allowed him to face Ross again there
Now the Frediot takes him out. Go figure.
7 runs and 3 homeruns later, Fredi takes Minor out. Nice
Oh, here comes Fredi. Wonder what took him so long? Musta been taking a shyt when all the runs were being scored.
Minor just fades at even the slightest amount of adversity, if runners are on base against him they will score. He sucks so bad.
I thought Medlin in the pen was for situations like Cody Ross.
that a boy mike.. living up to expectations. You have ZERO i mean ZERO business being on this roster. your lucky we have a chicken of a manager and GM that will do nothing about it.. got 3 back and minor gives them right back…. Gonzalez and Wren both bafoons for even thinking this kid is an MLB pitcher…
Let’s go Braves! They can’t lose with Minor on the mound! He’s an Ace!
Clap, clap, clap clap clap!
June 24th, 20123:27 pm
Has that Ross homer come down yet?
I’m hitting somebody in the ribs with a fastball right now
Braves get three in top of 5th, and Minor gives those runs right back in the bottom of the inning.
Minor majorly SUCKS!
If this is the best pitchers we have i would hate to see what we have in the minors.
Now……Gonzalez takes him out. I bring in Meden at the beginning of the inning. But I do think Minor just wrote his ticket to Gwinnett going back out there and giving back the three the Braves just got.
June 24th, 20123:28 pm
Most of the Brave’s starters stuff is just too weak to be thrown into the strike zone. Nibble nibble nibble walk. Nibble nibble nibble walk. Nibble nibble nibble…gopher ball.
I don’t blame Only minor for that pitch also Mac…he’s a veteran catcher..he been sloopy calling games
“So it was surprising?”
Good catch. My bad.
Lil’, it doesn’t matter if it is a DH game or not, he normally gives up seven runs even if it is not a DH game.
Simmons error aside, Minor had the opportunity to limit the damage in the inning, but he just is unable to do anything correctly when runners are on base with the slightest hint of adversity. I would expect a roster decision coming sometime within the next day or two regarding Minor and Delgado.
You are mad at the wrong guy. Mike Minor is not the guy who pencils himself into the lineup.
Well that was a fun inning
June 24th, 20123:29 pm
Cody Ross needs a good plunking.
maybe Minor can find him banished to the Minors like KK was, never to see the light of day again
Sad part is that I feel Minor will still make his next start. Fredi will say it pitched well but that one error in the 5th really hurt him. Ho hum
Cody Ross should be drilled. How good does he really think he is anyways?
MIKE MINOR is the biggest loser in MLB. What a joke. Fredi G. is such a bleeping idiot for running him back out there.
Simmons hands them a free run.
Bottom line…winners win…Chokers find a way to lose. This Braves team is so full of chumps, it defies imagination.
Add to that McCan’t and Uggly in the middle of the order… BRAIN DEAD.
Mike Minor spits out another one. A worthless head case.
Really sad to see Braves ptiching fall so badly. That was the one thing we could hang out hat on. Now just a bottom of the barrel group
….well, at least I’m not the only one on here who doesn’t fawn over McCann….
jeffrey d, his injury wasn’t late last year, it was July – so he’s had almost an entire year now to “fix” his swing (which, I believe there was an article a week or two ago about how, after hours of watching video, he finally found the “flaw” in his swing and fixed it)….yet, same results. His OPS has gone down each year from 2008 to now – .896, .835, .828, ..817, .724. His strikeouts have gone up every year since 2008 (last year would have been higher, had he not missed so many games). That’s not a slump….that’s a career decline, at age 28. Y’all get over your love affair with McCann…jeez…
June 24th, 20123:30 pm
What two pitches and you’re out. Been nice to see what Medlin could’ve done against Ross. Oh, well that makes too much sense.
Who is going to throw BP to the Red Sox tomorrow if Minor leaves today?
If anyone had not made up their mind about FGs managerial abilities, there should be no question there anymore.
did I miss something?? Minor gives up 4 in the fourth and he gets in trouble first batter in the 5th, and Frediot lives him in?? Why is it that Minor’s teammates always have to pay the price for Freddi’s stupid moves?
We got to Cook for 3 last inning, but have Uggla and Freddie leading off the 6th. That’ll be two outs with Heyward coming up. Looking good.
Anyone now realize how good Jurrjens had to be in his start to not get killed in this building?
Anyway, how in the world does A-Gon not get a pitch in his back after Cody Ross’ ridiculous bat flip celebration. That crap is uncalled for and if a Brave did it, Fredi would be ALL over them.
I’m usually the most optimistic Braves fan ever…. but this game has broken me…. trade Bourn and Jurrjens, Eric O’Flaherty and call up some youngsters and throw in the towel for this year.
Where’s the abundant pitching we were suppose to have? I say to take our lumps with Tehran and Medlin.
The Braves have time to put four runs on the board, but that would be extremely unlikely. If only Minor had any mental toughness and the Braves could actually put together fundamental approaches at the plate, this might have been a fun game to watch.
Medlen should demand a trade if this doesn’t give him another chance. Screw being the nice guy. He lost his spot due to injury they should give him a chance
Yep, Fredi will say, “We’ll just keep running him back out there. I saw progress.”
Will this be the last we see of Minor? When will the ax fall on the manager? Stay tuned for another exciting episode of As the Braves Fall Apart
June 24th, 20123:31 pm
FREDDI closing the door after the horse got out of the barn. One of the worst managers in baseball . When we ever make playoffs again that joker will be with someone else. In spring traning Minor wanted to be traded if he didnt make team well trade the Glavine wantabe. FIRE FREDDI
I still don’t get why Delgado gets lumped in with Minor. One has been a disappointment and the other a typical rookie pitcher with a middle of the rotation ceiling.
The internet has killed decorum
Again….Medlen to the starting rotation…….Minor to AAA……..and a relief pitcher either traded for or brought up from AAA. NOW……if you are serious about wanting to win this year. You just can’t have a rotation with both Minor and Delgado in it. Period, You can’t with them both in the rotation. Simple.
Minor has had his chances to work through his issues. I have a gut feeling Garza will be a Brave soon. Minor has pitched his last start in the rotation this season for the Bravos.
Bobby V is cheating, he changed pitchers at the start of the inning ……..
Minor should be TOAST….but sadly will not.
See him in 5 days for the continuing saga of “Minor Takes Up Space…Loses Again”
How does a former All-Star Jurrjens get sent to the Minors, but not Mike Minor?! He looks like a left-handed Kawakami!
Who is calling for curve balls in a situation where you need a groundball double play? Thats exactly what McCann was calling for.
Aw, sorry, Jerry. Your bff got a hit.
Maybe next time
June 24th, 20123:32 pm
Knew he was good for giving up at least 1 more homerun before his stupid ass was pulled. What a f’n loser this guy is. This is the same dude that in spring training said if I am not in the rotation I want to be traded? I think he is his own biggest fan. You couldn’t get a case of big league chew, or sun flower seeds for this loser. Regardless of the error, Minor still gave up another walk, and another back breaking homerun. Wonder how the offense feels? They fight to get back in the game, and that useless waste of space gives all 3 runs right back. This dude should be in minors, period. He is simply not good enough to pitch at this level. I hope they can get a Matt Garza, Ryan Dempster, or Zack Greinke, otherwise they are done. Hard to win many games with a 2 man rotation.
what r braves waiting on Minor/Delgado just not getting it done. Sent Mrdlon down to get ready to start and all we do is bring him inafter starters get hammered FG doest not know how to manage a pitching staf (see last year and years in FL. way too many arms hurt and wore out )
Nice going Dan. That’s when you do it. You da man.
Time to bring up Julio. Keep medlin in middle relief. Send minor down or keep him and jettison c mart.
Good start for Uggla.
Clearly Minor and DelGado need more work learning to keep pitches down, and they’re not going to get it in the starting rotation here. We better hope JJ is over the hump and gets it now. This rotation is weak in its current state.
June 24th, 20123:33 pm
I believe young Delgado and Minor will be good Major League pitchers. But, right now they are predictable losses–or at best no decisions most the time out. Time to give Medlen his chance. The Braves have a so lid baseball team other than they have two number 5 guys in the rotation. Won’t always be that way, but in 2012 that is the way it seems it will be. Minor should probably go to the bullpen. He does really well in early innings.
BC and Tampagator….while I agree that Minor should be sent down. He will not. With all due respect….he will get another 5-10 chances if not more….so to think that they will make a change is just dreaming for you guys…no offense.
Sent Mrdlon down to get ready to start
I think that’s the worst Medlen’s been spelled on here
Im telling ya, hit it the ball soft!!!!
Mike Minor the head case strikes again. How could you let this guy anywhere near the mound in a meaningful game in September/October? You can’t have success at this level when the guy you walked, standing on first, is torturing you enough to erase 3 innings of good work.
JJ better be back for real.
way to gooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
June 24th, 20123:34 pm
Anyone now realize how good Jurrjens had to be in his start to not get killed in this building?
JJ is a good pitcher who was pitching horribly. There was no guarantee he would do what he did but honestly pitching with something to prove I thought he might do well, just not that well.
Enter your comments hereI am SICK AND TIRED of watchimg Mike Minor pitch
His whole demeanor spells loser
Every curveball, every change up is so predictable and he gets hammered
And DELGADO is another one..one game up, three games down
This team is never gonna make the playoffs with such an inconsistent pitching staff..
Even Hanson n Hudson ..lyou never knows whos gonna show up when they pitch
Sure Fredi….have continued confidence in your starters and, by all means demand they get in at least 85-100 pitchers per outing prior to the ‘hook.’ Forget the fact that he might just be finished for the day; or maybe has some untold funk going on…..and you know funk Fredi that’s for certain–but it’s all good Skipper……sometimes you just can’t shake the city blues….everywhere you turn you lose!!!
Braves just cancel out their breaks.
BravesfanWis: You are one rude dude.
Trade that bum Minor for a bucket of balls and 2 bats! (If we could even get that for him).
If Valentine were doing our lineup card for his benefit, he would make at most two changes.
Obviously Freeman hits into a doubleplay. Why would he do anything else?
June 24th, 20123:35 pm
my God. Between Uggla and Freeman it would be nice to get one lousy RBI. Both of them suck so bad right now they’d give Hoover a run for its money…..
Freeman says your argument is invalid.
J-HEY!!!!! THAT BALL WAS SMOKED!!!!
Too bad Freddie cleared the bases. WTG Jason!!!
When do they stop pitching to Heyward
A little green paint to take back home…..carry on my…….
wow if we could just stay out of those dp’s
Good thing we have McCan’t batting 3rd instead of Heyward.
June 24th, 20123:36 pm
Minor isn’t good enough to wash Jo-Jo Reyes’ jockstrap.
Heyward hits a rocket and Simmons lines out. Story of our day. Hey at least we get one run for every 2 they’re getting.
Retired 6 years too late
June 24th, 20123:37 pm
When McCain is catching……………his target is always down the center of the plate. He can’t handle the pitchers. Minor walk the first batter and our catcher never went out to the mound to calm the pitcher down. Second walk and McDowell never came out of the dugout to talk to Minor. You never see McCain move the target for the pitcher inside , outside and up when he catches. The pitchers get hit hard becuz his target is always down the center of the plate, i.e. the last home run minor gave up. Ross is a better catching handling pitchers and maybe he needs to be behind the plate when the young guys are pitching.
One thing i agree with Mike Minor
His last name fits him perfectly
J-Hey on FIIIIIIIIRE!!!
Well the Braves got a run that inning which means the Red Sox will come back and score.
I can’t believe as many times as Cody Ross has so oviously showed up the Braves that somebody hasn’t thrown one at his ribs. They had to have seen that hard bat flip towards our dugout and he did it his first time, too. IMO you can’t let that prick get away with that.
June 24th, 20123:38 pm
Nice DP in front of that J-HEY homer. Fredi will probably drop him to 8th in the order now.
yay Heyward …….
mafia is right
Jjj make us dream…delgado and minor grab us and send us back to the earth in a very rought fashion…. Well I think minor and delgado need a parade in minors for at least a couple of starts, we can survey wthi huddy, hanson, jj, medlen and maybe redmond or teheran….
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
