This guy is so bad…get him out of the rotation.
Lets get it over with and get on the plane, I guess. Tip the hat etc.
GTI in Brooklyn
Jeepers. When the kid loses groove, it goes ALL the way away in a hurry, don’t it?
Go figure, Jurrjens pitched really well and then Delgado and Minor both pitch like garbage. This crap has gotten so old.
Can’t say I didn’t expect this from Minor. He does it more often than not.
Minor needs to keep pitching and take his lumps, but they have got to work on keeping him focused on thrwing strikes, when his command goes, he falls apart and throws too many breaking pitches
June 24th, 20122:51 pm
I have a strong feeling Minor will be riding the bus at Gwinette after today.
over myself nolie? all i’m lookin for is some production from the C position….and it’s lacking from the guy with the 3rd highest paycheck on the team….
njbraves, we had that chance when we brought Medlen back up from the Minors, but they just put him back into the pen.
Changing Names Because I Can!
One good game doesn’t change a season. Minor still has a Minor head on his shoulders. It’s almost like when he goes on a walking binge, he tees a few up just to see how far they can hit ‘em
Mike, they can hit them a long way when you don’t have enough talent to get them out.
“Disaffected. I’d say that unless B-Mac really tapers off the rest of the season, they’ll pick up his option at the end of the year. That’ll give them a good idea of where he’s’ at and what to do with him.”
I wouldn’t at all be surprised if he’s traded this offseason. Even coming off what will be a down year (barring a huge second half), he’ll still have great value. If Wren determines that he’s in decline, then it makes sense to try to strike while the iron’s still hot.
But a lot of this depends on how Bethancourt progresses. Right now he doesn’t look big-league ready, but that could change in the next couple of months. Wren has never been shy about fast-tracking kids to the majors.

If they don’t get another starting pitcher, they are going to have a tough time making the playoffs. Minor and Delgado are not the answer.
Ralph, I wish that would happen.
I can be patient with Delgado who has shown good and bad to date, but Minor I just cannot have faith in him anymore.
There is something about the mental makeup and how he cannot handle adversity that tells me he is a bust. You can see it and I doubt he gets better.
How much more can the Braves put up with from this BUMB.
Can’t go on through the season expecting to be threats with these soft young pitchers. Wren has some serious decisions to make if he is planning on having the team and Chipper head into the playoffs.
It’s been a year now, jeffrey d.That’s not a slump.
No it hasn’t. He was hitting great before his injury late last year.
Of course, you don’t need many runs to beat us with our diffident offense.
The Truth Hurts
Minor did not give you an interview or something? You sure are on point today.
June 24th, 20122:53 pm
Most likely ballgame but still plenty of time to get back into it.
Do they have a Gwinnett to Boston bus route?
Uggla…ZERO consistency…over-paid, middle of the line-up loser. Leave him hitting 6th or 7th.
Tuned in just in time to watch the weekly Mike Minor meltdown..
Is Uggla hot yet?
It’s a shame. MINOR can look so very good the first 1.5 times through a line-up, and then…? I’m not quite savvy enough to tell if he gets himself out of a good routine, or if the line-ups make adjustments and start pounding his stuff.
Well, this game is pretty much over. We are making Cook look good because we are so bad. The Sox are on the verge of winning the fist ever “Choker Series”.
Mike Minor is useless. Dude always gives up walks, and it seems he always gives up homeruns after those walks. That kills a team every time. I don’t care how good the Braves offense can be at times, they will lose every time a pathetic ass pitcher like Minor does that crap. Sick of watching the same old routine with these pitchers. They were rumored to be going after Youkilis? I didn’t know he could pitch. They better get some starting pitching, and soon, otherwise this season will go down the tubes very quickly.
Trey….I know, I’ve actually been in favor of Meds in the pen, but I can’t say I feel that way anymore. Minor is just awful.
June 24th, 20122:54 pm
Minor is a middle reliever at best. a total jobber
This team is not good enough to make the playoffs, not this year.
Too young, too inexperiences and the wicky wacky bullpen and bench and Chipper’s decline says that this team is a yr and maybe two from being good enough to get there.
No way this team wins more than 85 games, not this yr. Toom many things going wrong and young guys slow in developing.
DOB – do us a favor and run onto the field ask Minor the tough quesions….like why is he stinking. I bet those New York writers would do it.
It is like Minor just gives up after he gets a couple of guys on base because he never can work out of jams without multiple runs scoring.
June 24th, 20122:55 pm
“Do they have a Gwinnett to Boston bus route?”
I sure hope so.
Minor…you are the weakest link. Goodbye!
Mac is not getting traded, he’s having a lousy year, it happens to EVERY ball player at some point in their career….. He has been really unlucky on the results of balls in play, it’ll be okay.
Minor should be given this year and one more year to develop. Just like all SMART teams give their young starters….. Thank god you people don’t make these kinds of decisions, the league would have gotten Glavine and Smoltz on the cheap
njbraves, too bad he can’t replace Beachy on the bench.
30 of the 55 earned runs that Minor has allowed this season have come in 4th and 5th innings (15 in each)
Slumps can last a year. Evan Lomgoria hit .244 last season. Should Tampa feel like getting rid of him, 29 other teams would be lining up to get him.
June 24th, 20122:56 pm
He can take the Greyhound.
It is so predictable with nearly every pitcher on this team that when they put guys on base they are unable to work out of the jam.
June 24th, 20122:57 pm
Minor to the bullpen, Meds to the rotation. Couldn’t be any worse.
What a funny man (I think) you are
Would a guy that’s hitting .275 10 homruns and 36 rbis help this team? And can play all 3 outfield postions. Yeah, thats Cody Ross. Could of had him!
Uggla…ZERO consistency…over-paid, middle of the line-up loser. Leave him hitting 6th or 7th.
I mean, he only leads all NL secondbasemen in HR, RBI, R, XBH, and BB.
Nats next weekend and we have Delgado and Minor ready for them I will stay home those two days. This team sucks even with a man on third Bourn ground out to third watch his next at bat. Bourn and Prado never hit in the same inning. Please get Garza or someone.
Remember, Frank Wren teams do not go to the playoffs except as the wildest of wild cards. It’s a law.
June 24th, 2012
The game is as good as over…
Leave Minor’s pathetic butt out there to eat some innings.
What a damn headcase this guy is.
ooooooh! Thanks, Trey
David O’brien doesn’t like Minor. Minor must be elusive for interviews.
June 24th, 20122:58 pm
Maybe the Braves can actually chip away at Cook, but that is doubtful.
And Medlen is spitting seeds in the bullpen while Minor is costing us yet another game. What is going on with Wren and his people to be so dumb? I thought he was a smart guy, but not all that sure anymore.
Ur right jerry this is the choker series.
I want to be behind Minor but enough is enough.
They will keep him in there cause ownership is too cheap to get a vet pitcher and the price they have to pay is not cost effective for the budget Wren is given.
Not blaming Wren. Man, can we EVER get rid of Liberty Media — maybe some day but that is out of our control.
This team is gonna make a run as they are I think. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ that is why.
I just poped back on to say HOW LONG ? HOW LONG? FREDI are you going to throw MINOR out there every 5th day or so when you iknow he cannot pitch on a big league level. Fedi you know it is a automatic loss. FREDI you are the worst excuse for a MGR EVER. PLEASE RESIGN NOW.
June 24th, 20122:59 pm
I miss Kawakami.
I still say Minor would be a good fit out of the bullpen because he can get strikeouts. His HR rate is alarming, but much of that damage has come in very hitter-friendly parks. I still don’t think he’s as bad as the numbers look, but he clearly should have been moved out of the rotation a while ago. Medlen is more suited for a starting role, so he and Minor should flip flop.
As for today, Fredi did not put together a competitive enough lineup to win.
Lil' Barry Bailout
Remember when the Braves biggest problem was deciding which of their many starting pitchers to include in the rotation? At least, according to Frank Wren?
Seems like a long time ago.
It has to be hard on the players themselves knowing they cannot go through sustained slumps with such fragile pitching. Does anyone have any realistic ideas on how to solve the hitting and pitching woes of this team? This team has a good balance of youth and experience. I am sure they will pull it together as the season unravels. If not, what then?
Way to hustle, J-Hey!!!
June 24th, 20123:00 pm
And yet, 3 players with sub .250 average is hitting above him. That Fredi Gonzalez is a genius.
Sweet Lord, George…could you go a day without bitching about Fredi? The only thing it’s accomplishing is it’s making you look crazier each day.
Time for Medlen to get his starting job back. Braves will not get to playoffs with Minor and Delgado..it’s not going to happen
we never come from behind much lately.
June 24th, 20123:01 pm
Disgusted, I doubt it would be much different with a different owner. When the Braves had Time Warner, people were complaining about Time Warner, now it’s Liberty Media.
Nice hit, Andy!
Solid job, Simmons.
Do it again Hinske!
The Braves can’t be taken serious when they have this pitching staff. Their best pitcher all year, even though he was at .500 when he went on the DL, is done for the year. They have Hudson and Hanson who are pitching pretty good lately, but with Delgado, Minor, and Jurrgens, you don’t know from one inning to the next what you are getting.
Love the kid “Simmons”…
The Braves have to sent Minor to the G-Braves to work on consistent location. He is very good when he locates, but he too often loses focus and pitches in the middle of the plate…and he does not have good enough stuff to do that. You simply have to move him down and out Medlin in the rotation. The Braves simply cannot afford both Minor and Degado’s inconsistency in the starting rotationl. Medlen, I believe, will be a lot more consistent than either. Send Minor down, move Medlin to the rotation, and bring up another relief pitcher…..if you want to contend this year in the East. Maybe Minor can get better down on the farm.
No Flag Since Lemke
Ggame after game after game, the second time through the line up this guy gets torched, does this not spell middle reliever rather than starter?
Hi everyone…..wow, 4-0……..let’s get a little Mr. DH?
June 24th, 20123:02 pm
Nick B — Glavine and Smoltz were begining to figure it out in their second seasons.
In 89, Glavine was 14-8 and had a decent ERA on what was still a bad Braves team. Smoltz made his first ASG in 89 his first full yr in MLB.
These guys did not melt down in adversity the same way that Minor does and Jo Jo did.
Smoltz did have that gross slump in the first half of 91, but he went to Dr Lewwellyn and got straingtened out.
You could see hope there.
I see the same hope in Delgado. I don’t see that in Minor. I believe in Delgado but not Minor.
Scoring in this situation would be beneficial, but a double play is likely coming soon.
If we could get Uggla’s relatives off this board, it would be so much easier to discuss his performance. Uggla pounds out a lot of meaningless stats when a game is long won or lost, but put some pressure on him, runners on in a close game, and he withers.
put some blinders on hinske where he won’t see those runners on basre.
At least we got Simmons now
Were going to get shutout by Cook that will be a joke. This team everytime they walk a batter to start an inning were in trouble. Fire FREDDI or send him and Uggla to Marlins for Infante because when is Uggla going to get hot.
June 24th, 20123:03 pm
We finally scored!
Where mah Ski haterz at?
Heavyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy with the big triple!
June 24th, 20123:04 pm
Way to go, Hinske!
Hot damn………. Go ahed on, Heavy Hinske
Way to go, Ski!!!!
Damn! Heavy E means business today.
Hinske smoked that one
Disgusted – you’re making a comparison using 2 Hall of Famers though.
Geeze….how bad do you have to field a ball to give Hinske a triple? lol
Good for Hinske…it’s about damn time.
Glad to see Hinske getting out of his funk. Hope it lasts.
Guess everyone loves him again (for now).
Nice….way to go Eric, yes you did it well brother…..and this plants a seed in their minds; we a comin’ back!
BTW – good call, CaptMudd
Mike Minor is such a mental midget. He’s a total head case. He does not have the make-up to pitch in the major leagues. That said, he has the perfect manager in Fredi G. (Fredi is the most clueless manager in baseball. If he has enough warning, he can fill out a line-up card. That’s about it.) The Braves can’t hit…can’t drive in runs. Nobody is a clutch performer. Not one. Zero. None.
The Braves young pitchers really suck…Delgado, Minor, and the like.
Wren figured that the Braves were strong in pitching. As usual Wren equals wrong.
McCann is having the his worst year in his career. Venters is a total waste of time. The bench is a disaster.
Great job by Fanki Wren. Add Fredi G.’s managerial skills, and the Braves are toast.
Bad luck prevented that from leaving the park.
June 24th, 20123:05 pm
this team sucks situationally wasted double by hinske.. play team baseball. sacrifice urself for the betterment of the team but born couldnt do that.. then Please please send mike scared to throw the ball over the plate minor back to learn how to pitch..
Hinske hits one 400-feet plus, 2-run triple that’s a homer in most parks. Half as many hits today as he had in past 58 at-bats, and two more extra-base hits than he had in that span.
Hinske looks like he may have his mechanical issues worked out
Hinske with a triple. McCann and Freeman would have barely gotten to second.
