The A Bomb
June 20th, 20123:57 pm
I am laughing my ass off right now with some of your comments.
Brooklyn Braves Brawler
June 20th, 20123:58 pm
You did call it, sorta?
I have always supported Heyward, cuz I understand that young players can be streaky and frustrating at the plate
Heyward hitting .351 with 10 extra-base hits (four homers) in 16 June games, after hitting .200 w/ 9 extra-base hits in 30 games in May.
@BravesQueen….good post up there re:Jason/Uggs; so nice to see you on the board with us, hope you are having a good day.
Maybe I should suggest we trade J-Hey more often. He has made me eat my words, which I gladly will do :O)
Now who pitches the 8th?
June 20th, 20123:59 pm
Come on down PESKY POLE….Jhey love it
Maybe the best part of that homerun is that it went right over Swisher’s head. Douchebag
Like I said earlier Fredi Gonzales is hitting bombs today!!
Fredi will get blamed for it being so close late. Fredi can’t win, even when he wins!
June 20th, 20124:00 pm
Erfim, I think you actually said “a couple” in your prediction didn’t you? I wold go back and look myself but this FN computer screen keeps locking up and jumping around.
Dammit, I missed the 2nd Jhey Bomb…Was it Perty?
CTB – you may be right about that!
Remember some of you….keep the Wayward stuff in tow for the next 4 for 20 streak. We’ll hear from you then.
Something tells me the Heyward Homer today is the start of something special for that young man….last few games, hes beginning to show that promise of a star…..Keep it up JHEY!
When I had heard that the Braves may pursue Swisher for 2013 I was interested, then I found out what a total toolbag he is and ,now, not so interested
Still go with EOF in the 8th. He’s already up!
June 20th, 20124:01 pm
I was so furious with JHey last night because of that you know—but he has made up for that in a very huge manner–simply awesome production and effort Jason!!!
Coach (2012 Fredi's Beisbol Fandango)
Heyward belongs in the sixth hole if not moving up to batting third. He’s been the most productive bat during this month of June. So Fredi G. needs to pull his head out of his butt and MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!
p.s. It’s great to see our offense finally pounding the ball, not to mention taking two out of three from the Yankees and Yankee stadium.
O yea, 9-5 Braves, BALLGAME!
June 20th, 20124:02 pm
Eric O – DO NOT GIVE THE RUNS BACK!!!!!!
But I’m sure the field commander will give Heyward Friday night off in Boston — 2 straight days for the 22-year-old.
I wasn’t mad at Heyward for the slide at 3rd, I blame the hitting coach for wavin him around
I hope Mac is getting used to his future home
So you’re laughing at the “apologists” that have always liked Jason and kept saying he was a good player?
Far from over…
Doofus(Goober and Gomer's Smart Brother)
“kat, are the Yanks fans leaving now or staying?
June 20th, 20124:03 pm
Listen, I’m a big believer in the kid, and everybody here knows that, but whaddya say we let him rake for an entire month, at least, before we bring out the anointing oil again?
Thanks. Today has been an ok day, better than recent ones at least. Thought it’d be nice to spend it here amongst friends.
.262/.340/.480 for Heyward. 2nd on the team in OPS behind Prado(.830).
June 20th, 20124:04 pm
Will be Kimbrel in the 9th. Fredi is not going to take any chances
Sorry- my computer is very slow right now…
No, I’m laughing at all the apologists who’ve been killing the guy for 2 years and now coming out and saying, “I’ve always liked Jason…..Yay!……..He’s back….”
Just like the Wild Thing stuff from Major League II… comical.
I will be Damned If A. Jones goes yard!
So let me get this straight, Homer Simpson…when a Yankee hits a home run into the front row, it’s because the stadium is a joke (notice how you can’t spell joke, without j-o-e) and when Jason Hayward does it, it’s AMAZING.
June 20th, 20124:05 pm
report was that Heyward went to 3rd on his own.
Some of you think the Braves bloggers are too hard of the team, Fredi etc. Try living in NY. The YES broadcasters are blaming this beat down on A Rod hitting into that DP. “All he had to do was hit a sac fly and we’re tied. Then Girardi would have used different pitchers, yadda yadda. They have won 20 out of 25 but they whine about every loss. That is one thing you never hear Chip or Joe do — say no wrong about their beloved boys.
Geez, EOF, put him away already!
June 20th, 20124:06 pm
nickb, absolutely stupid comment about Constanza. Just shows your ignorance on team baseball.
EOF with the K on AJ
Thanks Andruw. Come on Mark!
June 20th, 20124:07 pm
Boy I don’t miss that classic Andruw Jones swish
Before anybody gives Fredi too much credit, the Braves have scored today in spite of his lineup. Our #3 hitter, the “Designated Hitter,” sports a .235 average and is 0-for-4 with 2 K’s. Meanwhile, our #9 hitter, our “other” catcher, is batting .286 for the year and has 2 hits. I doubt there are too many teams playing today with a DH batting under .250. It’s a good thing we don’t play by minor league rules for most of the year!
screwball i have definitely heard Joe get grumpy about his team and call some people out
My 1:06 comment on the previous blog predicting MORE than 6 runs……….yeah it came true.
Not like it’s a big deal? You know, I only picked a high run total number on a team not capable of producing high run totals? Probably fluke.
But also……..probably not a fluke. What does that tell you?
Dammit, Come On Easy-E!
Maybe the best part of that homerun is that it went right over Swisher’s head. Douchebag. — CTB
June 20th, 20124:08 pm
Druw @ .208, looks done. just pounding more death nails in his HOF chances the longer he craps it up
Everyone chalking down the W before it is over…shame on you.
What the Braves need is a new owner. Liberty has no interest in winning a championship. So why waste your time with the Braves. When fans show they’ve had enough, things will get better.
2 and 3rd with 2 outs.
Bring Kimbrel in now!!!!
GAME ON THE LINE NOW!!
Only need one out, Easy E, to get out of this. Please get it!
Be nice to bring in Kimbrel here.
I remember reading the AJC blogs about Jhey. For some reason Atlanta “fans” wanted him gone or sent down. He and JJ seemed to be blamed for all atlanta’s short comings instead of a functional 80 million dollar payroll. By OPS Jhey is our best hitter, not prado, freeman or bourn.
“Boy I don’t miss that classic Andruw Jones swish”
Co-Sign! Still hard to believe he hit 51 homers
I can’t wait for this series with the Yanks to be over with! I’ve seen enough of them in past two weeks to last the rest of the season.
but whaddya say we let him rake for an entire month, at least, before we bring out the anointing oil again?
Another 50-100 plate appearances of this and that’d make me pretty happy.
This game is now officially three hours old.
June 20th, 20124:09 pm
June 20th, 2012
Co-Sign! You gotta Bring in your stopper especially with the Day off tomorrow! We Need to seal the Deal
June 20th, 20124:10 pm
The Yankees Play by Play guy that has the same HR call for every HR
“There it goes…. See YA”
Might be more annoying than anything Chip Carey ever does!!
Get a couple more runs in the top of the 9th and the let Kimbrel in there to make the Yanks look like another team.
Another 50-100 plate appearances of this and that’d make me pretty happy.
Now, that, I think, is a reasonable expectation.
I’m gonna be sitting right by Pesky Pole at Fenway on Sunday afternoon, along with by 3rd base on Saturday evening. I hope to see Heyward hit a bomb by the Pesky Pole!
Sweet watch looking Preston
I’ll give Joe some credit. I do like him. He will point fingers now and then. Chip, almost never.
June 20th, 20124:11 pm
deal got sealed without him..
But we definitely NEED another hitter. I mean, this offense stinks…………………..
No need at all for any sort of pitcher……………….
4 run lead with the top of the yankees order up, i hope fredi gives the ball to kimbrel.
Nice job EOF.
BravesQueen – Good to hear you are having a good day today.
Maybe the Braves can you a win too!
Not a save situation, can’t use Kimbrel.
June 20th, 20124:12 pm
nolie, I don’t know about that. A 94 OPS+ for Andruw isn’t awful for a bench player.
Andruw should be a Hall of Famer. But he has a low batting average and a lot of his value was because of his defense, so I wouldn’t be surprised if many voters don’t notice what an impressive career he had.
AJC headline at 4PM says, “Two Shot Near Turner Field, one critical”. Dang, there’s fireworks there even when the Braves are out of town!
I do too screwball he has some of what every braves fan has in them and voices it. Chip doesnt have the balls
CraZy There it goes…. See YA”
i kinda like “See Ya!”
June 20th, 20124:13 pm
Freaking hate Joe. dumber than a box of rox
June 20th, 20124:14 pm
MFin04 Not a save situation, can’t use Kimbrel.
they should. he hasnt been over worked and there’s an off day tomorrow. we need this win, lets not mess around.
Time for Redmond’s debut? Or do we need a six run lead?
Who had 1 for 4 with 2k’s?
who put the colorado team in a box?
I actually Like Michael Kay…
June 20th, 20124:15 pm
B_F 54 – No, Kimbrel up and throwing.
Francisco STEALS 2nd and ends up at third.
Is that really Juan doing that???
Meds warming up with Kimbrel
DAP – I know just messing with everyone.
Apparently, Francisco is speedy!
Well looky-there, Fransisco ended up at 3rd!
June 20th, 20124:16 pm
If Mccann, Freeman and Heyward get hot at the same time with steady Bourne and Prado they gonna score a lot of runs. Good thing they are off tommorow cuz Fredi would have took Heyward out of the line up…….We need a new manager!!!
June 20th, 2012
“they should. he hasnt been over worked and there’s an off day tomorrow. we need this win, lets not mess around.”
Co-Sign! Can’t lose this one…This game is mentally draining…And we still have that Showdown in the Fens this Weekend!
Thats Gonna be a Brutal Slobberknocker!
The fleet-footed….speedster…..well credit to Francisco–he got it done.
not for every single HR
Francisco may have lost five pounds going from first to third
June 20th, 20124:17 pm
It’s gonna be somebody other than Kimbrel. I’ll say this, tho, if that guy gives up even 1 hit, pull him and get Craig in there.
Francisco steals second base? Is McCann already catching for the Yankees?
Meds now sitting….
