gee Fredi ain’t the onliest manager who has a hot guy bunt with one out and a runner already in scoring oposition. gross stupidity no matter who calls it
valdosta, agree. It’s rebuilding time around Freeman, Simmons, Heyward, Prado, Kimbrel, Beachy, Minor, Medlen, Hanson. Trade Bourn before the deadline, shop Jurrjens. Hang onto McCann for another year while a catcher in the minors gets ready. Dump Fredi for someone who will let give the kids some leadership, play the kids, get another veteran pitcher and hitter in here with the $ and let them make a serious run in a year or two.
Don’t do anything until mini camp for football begins…
“Drew got treated like a dog in Boston but he was a good ballplayer”
In his whole time there he never hit as many as 25 HRs or drove in as many as 70 RBI. That for 5 yrs at 70 mil a top tiered contract at the time in the winter of 2006.
Had he had two of those yrs like he had in 2004 with the Braves or even the Dodgers in 06, the Boston fans would have accepted him more.
He was not a dirt dog type of guy, just not a fit for that city. He was not good enough.
I don’t usually pick on bench players, but that was a 3-1 fastball right down the middle and Hinske with a weak grounder to 3rd base. I mean, come on, Eric……
Yankees announcers (it’s all I can get up here) ripping on Hinske not getting better contact on that fastball he was waiting for. Eric does seem to be a different batter this year.
What do you do when you lose your #1 to injury? Teams that want to go for it and have the means go out do everything to get a #1 if he’s out there. Wren I hope will think this way pretty soon. Doubtful, I know, but I hope.
I think Don knows baseball than all the rest of their ex-jocks combined. Skip has never really bothered me all that much like he seems to so many here. just individual taste
Hah! Michael Kay said Greg Walker isn’t preaching “working the count” to the Braves hitters. Oh boy…..not sure about that. Every offense looks like they aren’t patient enough when they are struggling. I like Walker, so far.
I don’t know why anyone would not like Don Sutton and he is honest in the game anaylasis.
The two who bug me the most are Ben Ingram and Jay Howell. Too pollyana and sun is always in the sky, everything is going to be all right. Never say any nasties.
