Well that wasn’t too terrible. Of course, we can’t score enough to win, but at least I don’t have to shut the game off yet.
Why do woman go crazy for Jeter? He so damn ugly.
Nice play by Freeman.
gee Fredi ain’t the onliest manager who has a hot guy bunt with one out and a runner already in scoring oposition. gross stupidity no matter who calls it
June 19th, 20127:44 pm
Well they finally got Jeter out. That’s something positive.
This the first game all year that I’ve willingly chosen not to watch. I just can’t stand to see the Yankees own us anymore.
nolie, I wouldn’t mind them if I was a Yankees fan, since I would know each player by heart.
June 19th, 20127:45 pm
Our DH is batting .207….that sums it up
Lil' Barry Bailout
Maybe the series against the Red Sox will be more competitive, cuz the last week has really sukked.
On Friday the Braves will have 4 starting pitchers on the roster with ERA’s of 4+ and 2 of those starters with a 6+ ERA.
June 19th, 20127:46 pm
tired of the Atl
June 19th, 2012
valdosta, agree. It’s rebuilding time around Freeman, Simmons, Heyward, Prado, Kimbrel, Beachy, Minor, Medlen, Hanson. Trade Bourn before the deadline, shop Jurrjens. Hang onto McCann for another year while a catcher in the minors gets ready. Dump Fredi for someone who will let give the kids some leadership, play the kids, get another veteran pitcher and hitter in here with the $ and let them make a serious run in a year or two.
Don’t do anything until mini camp for football begins…
Great job, J-Hey!!!
man that exploded off his bat
Nice work by Heyward, good hustle.
Awesome JHEY! That looked like that 2010 Heyward with that swing.
Nice hustle, J-Hey!!!
Atta boy, Jason
Smoked that one
will he score?
@Disaffected yeah, I agree, it sucks when another team can say “you’re my b****” and you know it’s true. Like the Phillies two and three years ago.
Nice hustle but he almost made the first out at third
Heyward is the only Brave that plays with any passion. I like this kid.
Their catcher is hitting .205
June 19th, 20127:47 pm
That ball was smoked. He continues to crush RHP.
Stupid baserunning by Wayward.
good coupla at bats
Simmons needs to hit higher in the lineup
“Drew got treated like a dog in Boston but he was a good ballplayer”
In his whole time there he never hit as many as 25 HRs or drove in as many as 70 RBI. That for 5 yrs at 70 mil a top tiered contract at the time in the winter of 2006.
Had he had two of those yrs like he had in 2004 with the Braves or even the Dodgers in 06, the Boston fans would have accepted him more.
He was not a dirt dog type of guy, just not a fit for that city. He was not good enough.
Good job, Simba!
June 19th, 20127:48 pm
Jhey continuing his good hitting of late, liked the way he starting to go about it
I’ll wait until he’s a bit further into the season, but I’m starting to agree with you. The kid seems to be better than advertised with the bat.
A 0.207 DH? That’s either pathetic, stupid, or both.
Come on, don’t need a defensive swing on a 3-1 count, geeez!
Braves need to play Mike Lum more.
June 19th, 20127:49 pm
Wow..you know you’re going to get a fastball and that’s the best you can do…Geez
he was cited a coupla yeas as the team MVP by their management. he fit well, he was just not a star
Hinske flirting with the Mendoza line now
I might be having second thoughts on wanting them to pick up the $9M option on Hudson if this keeps up.
Nobody should hit a 3-1 pitch that weakly.
I don’t usually pick on bench players, but that was a 3-1 fastball right down the middle and Hinske with a weak grounder to 3rd base. I mean, come on, Eric……
Not really sure where else you would hit Simba except 7,8, or 2 and he is not going to hit in the 2 spot as long as Marteen is hitting well there…
June 19th, 20127:50 pm
Wow Hinske. Yikes he is rolling pitches down the middle softly on the ground.
go blimpski go.
Yankees announcers (it’s all I can get up here) ripping on Hinske not getting better contact on that fastball he was waiting for. Eric does seem to be a different batter this year.
Braves need more scotch sponsors.
But JD helped em win the WS
Hudson needs an easy inning here
June 19th, 20127:51 pm
There’s your run Huddy…hold the lea..oops..ah hold em there…
Hinske sucked last season but they brought him back because he part of the good ol boy system.
He could finish with an ERA in the 4’s and that’s still fine value for Hudson. Especially if Beachy isn’t available until mid-August.
June 19th, 20127:52 pm
Could Hinske be this year’s Greg Norton?
yeah I was not really in favor of re-signing ske last winter
Remember the good ol days when this blog did not have all the spam?
June 19th, 20127:53 pm
Can’t decide who is more annoying: Chip or Don?
A shutdown inning would be nice.
June 19th, 20127:54 pm
I like listening on the radio but Sutton never shuts up so I’m voting for him
What do you do when you lose your #1 to injury? Teams that want to go for it and have the means go out do everything to get a #1 if he’s out there. Wren I hope will think this way pretty soon. Doubtful, I know, but I hope.
@BravesinAugusta: I actually am listening to the Yankees announcers and I have to say they are better than Chip and Don for sure.
I like them both just fine
June 19th, 20127:55 pm
That’s more like it
Cano really has a special swing, eh nolie?
June 19th, 20127:56 pm
Ask and ye shall receive, Tomahawk.
Been a big Cano fan for years Efrim. one of my faves
Good inning, lets get some runs.
June 19th, 20127:57 pm
Switching to radio now thanks for the tip IlliniBrave….but I’ll miss Jim Powell
June 19th, 20127:58 pm
I like Cano much better than I like Jeter. But that’s like saying I like pizza much better than flesh eating bacteria…
I think Don knows baseball than all the rest of their ex-jocks combined. Skip has never really bothered me all that much like he seems to so many here. just individual taste
Man, are there that many Gata fans in ATL, that every time I log on to ajc I see an ad for UF season tix?
June 19th, 20127:59 pm
Good start to the inning, Martin!
Hah! Michael Kay said Greg Walker isn’t preaching “working the count” to the Braves hitters. Oh boy…..not sure about that. Every offense looks like they aren’t patient enough when they are struggling. I like Walker, so far.
Good knock Marteeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!!
Nice hit, Martin!!!
prado can hit a ball anywhere
June 19th, 20128:00 pm
Come on fat lard
Possibly. He looks lost and slow at the plate…
Great sarcastic comment by one of the announcers here: “guess Walker the hitting coach is not preaching working the count”
its a stretch but all 4 of their IFers could end up in the Hall.
nolie, I never thought Cano would be THIS good. He’s unbelievable.
June 19th, 20128:01 pm
Efrim: you beat me to it!
June 19th, 20128:02 pm
how did that miss Mac’s big butt?
How’d it miss that blubber butt
How did that ball miss Macs fat booty?
At least Mac moved Prado over… let’s go Dan!
Well done by BMac to get Martin over
June 19th, 20128:03 pm
Productive AB, Cann!
I don’t know why anyone would not like Don Sutton and he is honest in the game anaylasis.
The two who bug me the most are Ben Ingram and Jay Howell. Too pollyana and sun is always in the sky, everything is going to be all right. Never say any nasties.
Not really a big Jim Powell fan or detractor. Take him or leave him.
The chances are slim that Uggla will knock this runner on third in.
tired of the Atl
down the middle… whiff! Uggla looking at his buddy Nick Swisher’s cup size.
June 19th, 20128:04 pm
Crap! Uggs is swinging for the fences. How about a grounder to the right side of the IF?
Uggla is no Marty Perez.
Yaba Daba do…..Uggla who!
Hinske did not suck last yr or the yr before, but he is not getting the J-O-B done this yr.
I have defended him but its getting to the point where I can’t anymore.
What has happened to this bench?
Dang it, Uggs.
June 19th, 20128:05 pm
So damn predictable. Swinging for the fences almost every time. Why can’t these Braves play small ball?
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
