After Freeman’s two-run homer and Braves 3-0 lead in 1st inning, Jeter homers on 1st pitch of bottom of inning. Could be a long, hot day…. Going to approach record high here today, could reach 98.

#Braves manager Gonzalez said he’s using McCann as DH today in order to give Chipper consecutive days off
6/18 Fredi Gonzalez said Chipper Jones would probably DH Tuesday in the second game of the series.
6/19 Manager Fredi Gonzalez said he expects to use third baseman Chipper Jones as the Braves’ designated hitter Wednesday.
Maybe he just needs to keep his mouth shut about such matters…

Hanson just needs to throw strikes. Nothing hurt with the first pitch ambush. I doubt it will be a 3-1 game. Walk people, and it may be more like 13-4 Yankees.

A 3-run lead after the first should be a win for Tommy. I’m okay with that homerun he gave up. Just keep pounding the strike zone and see if he can go 8.

Hanson might only be able to go six even if he pitches shutout ball. These Yankees don’t do 9-pitch innings. And it’s like 100 degrees.

They are the type of team that Hanson can hurt, if his stuff is on. Those guys love to get counts, look heater, and swing hard. Hanson can go curve/slider/change for strikes, and that can keep these guys off-balance.
