Votto probably wishes he didn’t play for one of the two three managers dumber than our own, Jerry.

My point was that a large part of Votto’s value is that he doesn’t get himself out by swinging at garbage, and Uggla has done a nice job of that this year, too.

Yep cab, Uggla is pretty “meaningless”. He’s done nothing in the season and a half that I’m impressed with. Yeah, he had a hot streak last season, but he started the season like a mutt and ended it like a mutt. And he’s headed that way again.

Oh ok, sorry then. But at this point, he doesn’t inspire confidence in me, and I don’t think he needs to be here yet.

Seriously couldn’t care less about what happens in the games right now. Especially now with Beachy out (one of the lone things to look forward to each week). But seriously not gonna mentally get invested in this team again until Fredi is gone.

Doubtful, Jerry. Bourn’s a lock to be at least a reserve. If Prado doesn’t make the ASG, it’s because the NL outfield is crowded. And it really is, too.

And why would Bourn make it as a reserve and not Prado? Let’s make a friendly bet (no money involved). I think Uggla cost us a chance to see either Prado or Bourn in the ASG. I don’t even wanna see Uggla butcher another chance like he did the last time.

I will say this for the record. Dan Uggla is NOT the reason this team has failed or is failing (or will eventually fail).

That being said, I wasn’t going to sit still while somebody typed his name with Votto’s when discussing players with similar abilities. Or saying somebody must not like Votto if they don’t like Uggla.

If the other hacks on this team were doing their jobs, Uggla would be giving the Braves and Wren EXACTLY what they expected of him when they traded for him and signed him. Which is a guy for the middle of their order who bats RH and hacks his way to 30+ HR each year.

Mac, Chipper, Heyward, Freeman, Pastornicky, Hinske, Wilson, have been injured and inconsistent.

2/3 of the big 3 in the pen aren’t as “on” as they were last year. Jurrjens sucked. Minor should be the long relief guy or in AAA working on his breaking stuff and command.

And in the end, with the baffoon wearing #33….. it really just doesn’t matter.

Uggla might not be the second coming of Joey Votto. Or even in his league. But the Braves aren’t in a tailspin because of Dan Uggla.

Rays setup man Joel Peralta was ejected in the eighth inning of Tuesday’s game in the nation’s capital after Nationals manager Davey Johnson asked the umpires to take a look at his glove.

The umps found a foreign substance (likely pine tar) and gave Peralta the boot while confiscating his mitt.

Peralta played for the Nationals in 2010, so the assumption is that a former teammate alerted Johnson to the right-hander’s against-policy tricks.

The Rays countered in the ninth inning, asking to see the hat of Nats reliever Ryan Mattheus. It was clean.

It’s deeper than that though. He’s very competitive with his older brother and strives to be different. My oldest son is a Braves and Chiefs fan like me. So my middle guy wanted no part of that. The Yankees and Colts are his team. Likely because they were “good” when he decided to follow sports.
