Scotland Yard will investigate any “fat” commentary regarding McCann
Spin It Boys!
Yeah I agree! I hope Chipper felt so good after making a decent play that he plays until he’s 80! That would suit lots of people here! lmao

And uggla swings at the first pitch. What happened to our plate discipline?
June 19th, 20129:40 pm
He has a .380 OBP, Jerry. Uggla is just fine.
In the NL, there are 64 or so players that are hitting better than Uggla. Yep, that screams all star to me.
June 19th, 20129:41 pm
dang, 4 in a row for Baltimore either shutting out (the Braves x2) or being shutout (Met x2)
Any pitcher. anytime….apparently Dan just doesn’t have it tonight
June 19th, 20129:42 pm
Well shyt, Uggla just keeps getting better and better with every whiff of his bat. Is he leading the league now?
Hate for Freddie to take the first pitch.
Yes, Dan Uggla is mired in a slump right now. No one with eyes denies that.
Maybe he could use a day off? Everyone else has had one.
Let it go. His stats at 2nd base speak for themselves.
Waffle House or Bust
Our whole team is soft.
June 19th, 20129:43 pm
Doesn’t matter how they are playing or how they are hitting, if you’re a real fan you have to vote for a Brave for every position! Reward them for sub-par play! That is how you show you are a REAL fan!
either Lou and / or this guy -
Damn, it sucks being in VA, as I can’t watch the Braves play.
Freeman has no idea what he is doing at the plate: Swing at a breaking ball out of the zone on the first pitch and then watch a fastball down the middle on the second one.
man pounding the zone on freeman…act like he can’t hit
June 19th, 20129:44 pm
“Jurrjens could help Braves….” Reads the headline.
LOL. Sure he could….. if the goal is be in position for the #1 overall pick next year.
Other than that, I’m not so sure what Jurrjens is going to “help” with. Funny stuff at the AJC.
Wow, Jerry has us all fooled. Something must be wrong with, well, the entire universe.
cabravesfan – since you know so much about the NL 2B position, what player is right below Uggla in stats and what does he get paid?
And if you’re a real fan, you don’t keep changing screen names like a coward, even though you’re already invisible behind a keyboard. Just sayin’
June 19th, 20129:45 pm
know what you mean, Trey…especially since they’re winning tonight.
Part of being fan is being a little crazy. It reminds me of your first love, you were a little crazy in the head.
Tell me about it George. That’s what I want from my cleanup hitter. To be walking all the time because he just can’t hit. He doesn’t swing, he walks. He swings, he strikeouts. I have to believe his job is to drive in runs, and he is only hitting .254 with RISP. Sound like a horse to you?
cricket, I saw that video before and it makes you kinda feel for Uggla.
June 19th, 20129:46 pm
Waffle House or Bust-
I don’t know (or care) but I’m sure you can pick a stat and look it up if you want. It’s not that hard…
Trey, they are on MLB tomorrow afternoon…I think first pitch is 1pm. I won’t be able to watch, as I am giving my daughter swimming lessons.
June 19th, 20129:47 pm
Especially since they are winning. I want to see the Braves beat the Yankees, as we can end their winning streak!
I’m just fine with Uggla walking all the time, Jerry. You’re not much of a Joey Votto fan, are you?
June 19th, 20129:48 pm
Yeah, I won’t be able to watch it either, as I will either be finishing this garbage class or driving back to NC.
Waffles are incredibly soft…
At least you will get to spend some time with your family.
June 19th, 20129:49 pm
I do know that Brandon Phillips is making $12 million this year and Chase Utley, who has yet to play a game, is making $15 million.
so whats going on at the nationals game?
Jose Altuve, Brandon Phillips, and Dan Uggla will be the NL 2B in the ASG.
Changing Names Because I Can!
Oh no! Not another, ” what is your REAL name?” contributor!
Well what is YOUR real name and what is your phone number? Where do you live? What is your SS number? Are you married? Do you have kids? Got any identifying marks or scars?
Sorry. I actually know your name don’t I? It’s usnavyvolfaninva isn’t it?
Get a life and stop living YOUR reality online! lmao
Please George, are you really gonna compare Uggla with Votto?
June 19th, 20129:50 pm
Yep…. I try to make the most of the time… going to the beach Thursday.
Drive safely, Trey.
Love it when people make my point for me.
June 19th, 20129:51 pm
O’Flaherty looks pretty bad tonight.
Be safe, Trey.
Nicely done on the DP!
Chill out, “Changing Names Because I Can”, no one cares what your moniker is, but changing it just to try and “prove a point”, is pretty ludicrous.
JJ pitched 1 ining toight no runs no hits but issued 2 BB
Yeah, not too sure what your screen name has to do with whether your a true Braves fan. What’s the correlation?
June 19th, 20129:52 pm
I will say about Uggla that he stays in there like nobody else on a DP. Not necessarily there, but just sayin.
An all-starean double play fo sho
grandfather of all -ve nannies shows up and since braves are leading so far, goes and finds another perfectly logical headline to crib about..
hope Craig is not rusty
need an add on run offense, even with Kimbrel pitching you’d hate to trust your luck to 1 run considering how things have been going recently
…except for when he induces double plays from Russell Martin.
You don’t seem to value getting on base, Jerry. However, if you want to judge a player on how many runs he has driven in, it’s worth pointing out Votto has driven in 46, while Uggla has driven in 41.
Leave the lady alone Waffle….no need to get her upset over such trivial subject matter—this is not a middle school P.E. class.
Uggla is great on those turns. Infante can’t do that
June 19th, 20129:53 pm
What the hell does Joey Votto (and his .366/.488/.664/1.152 slash line) have to do with Dan Uggla and his .247/.375/.444/.818 slash line)?
With the way Bourn and Prado have been on base, if Uggla was as good as Votto at getting hits (Votto has 85, Uggla has 59), Uggla would have 70 RBI already.
Mentioning Votto and Uggla in the same sentence is an insult to Joey Votto’s ability as a hitter.
Rays leading bot 8th, 5-4.
Nice to see someone else ground into DPs for a change.
June 19th, 20129:54 pm
Thank you George and Brava, it’ll be a fun drive, since I get a little more time with the rent a car, before going back to mine.
June 19th, 20129:55 pm
working from home tom. hope to get my cable fixed before the game and off course hope for a win
J pitched 1 ining toight no runs no hits but issued 2 BB
Not good. Cab’s “friend” JJ isn’t inspiring any confidence in me….
hope Craig is not rusty
Chipper with the patient AB.
June 19th, 20129:56 pm
I hate all these uncompetitive outs made early in the count.
That was not the point N8.
For all you Uggla apologists, think about his making the all star team like this. Every team has to be represented. If Uggla makes it, then it is entirely possible that Prado and/or Bourn doesn’t get selected. Doesn’t mean they won’t get to go, but every year there are notable worthy players that don’t go and players that do go that don’t deserve it. I think Uggla would cause either outfielder to not be selected as a lone representative.
June 19th, 20129:57 pm
Cab’s “friend” JJ isn’t inspiring any confidence in me….
OKC leading Miami 43-40 with just under 4 min in 1st Half, in case anyone’s interested.
Votto and Uggla. sentence complete.
i think davey johnson asked the ump to check peralta’s glove and after checking the ump tossed peralta
Nice hit, kid!
June 19th, 20129:58 pm
when was the last hit by the Braves?
seems like a loooong time ago…
(as simmons singles to right) lol
Hugo Z Hackenbush
N8 crawls out from under his rock just in time to completely miss the point about the Votto mention…
June 19th, 20129:59 pm
come on ski
if OKC loses, it is clearly Uggla’s fault. if MIA loses, it’s on Fredi.
So again, the fact that Uggla leads all NL 2nd basemen in most of the relevant categories is meaningless?
David Robertson is good. Yankees have a very good bullpen. Most complete team in baseball, with the addition of Pettitte.
u can count on ole Her ske
June 19th, 201210:00 pm
Better days are coming Eric…….and maybe Kimbrel nails it here and we get one.
Cab: You said that you would like to see JJ get back soon and pitch. IIRC, you thought that he was close to being back. I’m not seeing it though. 2BBs in the first? Yikes. Better get Redmond warming up with JJ before the game…
Kimmeh: Please be sharp.
Well, at least Hardcore Pawn is on tonight. One of the few reality shows I like. I love seeing how screwed up so many people really are, especially in Detroit.
Hinske needs a day off
ok well come on kimmie
C’mon George. Yeah, Votto has only a few more RBIs than Uggla, but Uggla is batting .254 with RISP and Votto is batting .382. Votto just wishes he had Bourn and Prado at the top of the Reds lineup.
usually teams have more of an idea of how the opponent is pitching them as the game goes along…
Not the Braves! it seems they get more clueless in the late innings.
I’m just saying.
June 19th, 201210:01 pm
Hinske is no longer allowed to DH, might as well have had the pitcher in there (at least they can sometimes bunt …..)
It would in the Braves best interest for Craig Kimbrel to pitch well tonight. He will be facing the top of the Yankees lineup so they will be patient and be willing to work the count (unlike the Braves).
What was the point then George? You assumed he didn’t like Votto because he’d rather not have his cleanup hitter walk.
Votto not only hits circles around Uggla (the numbers with RISP aren’t even close), he also draws more walks than him. Votto has 13 HR. Uggla 11.
But Votto is also a doubles machine (30 of them already this year). Uggla is a hacker who either hits HR strikes out.
So…. not trying to be an ass. But what WAS the point? Now you have me curious.
Hope Kimbrel does not find the need to make it interesting or do that thing he does to put a couple on just to prove he can strike out the next 3.
I never said I thought he was close to being back…I said he needed to be more consistent. I would like to see him back to the old JJ and I don’t see anything wrong with that
June 19th, 201210:02 pm
Rays 5 nats 4 in the 9th
Jerry, the fans are voting Uggla in and, judging by the numbers, they aren’t all Braves fans. He has the best numbers among 2B.
Did Uggla’s dog crap on your front lawn? Jeez. Nobody on here is saying he is a great hitter. What they are saying is that he is probably the best second baseman in the NL this year. And besides this recent slump, he’s having a really good year for him.
You’d think he stood up your sister for the dance the way you keep going on about him. Just sayin.
Doubtful, Jerry. Bourn’s a lock to be at least a reserve. If Prado doesn’t make the ASG, it’s because the NL outfield is crowded. And it really is, too.
Hinske has fallen off a cliff. He’s a good guy and the clubhouse jokester, so he has nothing to worry about. Ho hum.
“C’mon George. Yeah, Votto has only a few more RBIs than Uggla, but Uggla is batting .254 with RISP and Votto is batting .382. Votto just wishes he had Bourn and Prado at the top of the Reds lineup.”
Yup. Like I said. If Uggla was batting 3rd and as good of a hitter as Votto, he’d be head and shoulders ahead in the RBI lead and Braves would have 3-4 more wins (if not more).
If Votto was our 3-hole hitter, he’d have 65 RB easy right now.
