Doesn’t matter how they are playing or how they are hitting, if you’re a real fan you have to vote for a Brave for every position! Reward them for sub-par play! That is how you show you are a REAL fan!
Freeman has no idea what he is doing at the plate: Swing at a breaking ball out of the zone on the first pitch and then watch a fastball down the middle on the second one.
Tell me about it George. That’s what I want from my cleanup hitter. To be walking all the time because he just can’t hit. He doesn’t swing, he walks. He swings, he strikeouts. I have to believe his job is to drive in runs, and he is only hitting .254 with RISP. Sound like a horse to you?

You don’t seem to value getting on base, Jerry. However, if you want to judge a player on how many runs he has driven in, it’s worth pointing out Votto has driven in 46, while Uggla has driven in 41.
What the hell does Joey Votto (and his .366/.488/.664/1.152 slash line) have to do with Dan Uggla and his .247/.375/.444/.818 slash line)?
With the way Bourn and Prado have been on base, if Uggla was as good as Votto at getting hits (Votto has 85, Uggla has 59), Uggla would have 70 RBI already.
Mentioning Votto and Uggla in the same sentence is an insult to Joey Votto’s ability as a hitter.
For all you Uggla apologists, think about his making the all star team like this. Every team has to be represented. If Uggla makes it, then it is entirely possible that Prado and/or Bourn doesn’t get selected. Doesn’t mean they won’t get to go, but every year there are notable worthy players that don’t go and players that do go that don’t deserve it. I think Uggla would cause either outfielder to not be selected as a lone representative.
Cab: You said that you would like to see JJ get back soon and pitch. IIRC, you thought that he was close to being back. I’m not seeing it though. 2BBs in the first? Yikes. Better get Redmond warming up with JJ before the game…

Not the Braves! it seems they get more clueless in the late innings.
It would in the Braves best interest for Craig Kimbrel to pitch well tonight. He will be facing the top of the Yankees lineup so they will be patient and be willing to work the count (unlike the Braves).
I never said I thought he was close to being back…I said he needed to be more consistent. I would like to see him back to the old JJ and I don’t see anything wrong with that
Did Uggla’s dog crap on your front lawn? Jeez. Nobody on here is saying he is a great hitter. What they are saying is that he is probably the best second baseman in the NL this year. And besides this recent slump, he’s having a really good year for him.

Doubtful, Jerry. Bourn’s a lock to be at least a reserve. If Prado doesn’t make the ASG, it’s because the NL outfield is crowded. And it really is, too.

What was the point then George? You assumed he didn’t like Votto because he’d rather not have his cleanup hitter walk.
Votto not only hits circles around Uggla (the numbers with RISP aren’t even close), he also draws more walks than him. Votto has 13 HR. Uggla 11.
But Votto is also a doubles machine (30 of them already this year). Uggla is a hacker who either hits HR strikes out.
So…. not trying to be an ass. But what WAS the point? Now you have me curious.
