Much as I love Chipper, I can see where people are so annoyed by him. Look at how he maunched that gum and talks out of he side of his mouth. Especially after errors like he just made. Same robotic emotion.
You can call it disrespect if you like. But let’s be honest; it’s the hot corner. That statue of Chipper is in danger of getting seriously hurt over there. You’ve gotta have reflexes, and his are long gone. I wouldn’t want Mike Schmidt out there either. When it’s time, it’s time. And he shows it each time he makes an infrequent appearance at 3rd base.
tommykk…I’m sure you were on board the Jim Rice bandwagon as he was embarrassing himself his last days in Boston too, right?
June 19th, 20128:44 pm
Braves are finished scoring, they reverted back to their impatience approaches in the 5th inning.
Another 1-2-3 inning — so charachteistic of the Braves offense,
This offense is offensive.
At what point does Chipper become too embarrassed to continue the retirement tour?
at about the same time you are too embarrassed to post such crap any more??
June 19th, 20128:45 pm
Fredi should yank Hudson as soon as he allows a baserunner. He’s done. Having said that, it will not happen.
Falling Closer To .500
“if it weren’t for snitker/Heyward the Braves would still be up.”
I understand the Heyward rap because of his baserunning blunder, but what did Snitker do? Throw an anchor around Chipper’s waist while yelling at him, ” you’ll never make it! You’re 40 years old going on 50!”?
June 19th, 20128:46 pm
Chipper dad soent 15 years teaching him to stay calm, WTF do you expect?
Can Of Corn
Bobby would have battled those questionable calls. Bobby WOULD HAVE BATTLED!
But the Braves now have never make waves, everything is going to be OK FrHEIDI managing them.
I’m sure Chipper will hang around long enough to get those 11 rbi’s needed to become the all time rbi leader among….3rd basemen (cough…ignoring the games in LF…cough)
Thank you nolie for that rebuke. I couldn’t agree more.

Right now, everybody is a target for blame the way it has gone as of late.
Its not just Chipper or Heyward or anyone, everybody is a target now.
Plenty of blame and frustration especially when its the same bunch who pissed it away last September. The ATL has run out of patience fair or not.
Danville opener tonight. 18 year old RHP Mauricio Cabrera went 4 IP, 2 hits, 1 ER, 2 BB’s and 4 K’s. Plus curveball, plus changeup, solid-average fastball. 6′2” 185 lbs with room to add more velocity, currently at 90-91mph.
June 19th, 20128:49 pm
Remeber at the start of the season when all our hitters were battling, drawing walks, extending pitch counts, etc. Now the Braves pitchers seem to be facing that in the other teams they play.
Spin It Boys!

So is this guy the next Braves “sure thing” that will turn out to be a bust?
June 19th, 20128:51 pm
Huddy is getting under his pitches…the are either riding high or fading away. Not a lot of downward action on the sinker.
Walks, walks, walks…..geeeeez! Trust your stuff!!!
Another situation where the Braves had 2 outs and nobody on base and are making it a rally for the opposing team.
Good job Fredi
June 19th, 20128:52 pm
nolie, you talking to me?
Not sure about leaving Hudson in though. I’m worried
This should go well. Manager Tim Hudson has decided not to change pitchers.
June 19th, 20128:53 pm
SO who would you like to see in there from the pen?
June 19th, 20128:54 pm
Got him! Nice Jason & Mac!
Nice throw JHey, nice tag BMac!!
Yeah, that Heyward sucks.
Nice throw J-Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Great job Heyward and Mac!
Great play, J-Hey!!!
Thank you Heyward!
McCann with his patented “ole”! Hey, it worked.
McFann :Ô: :Ô: :ô:
OUT!!! GREAT THROW!! And very nice tag by BMac…
tired of the Atl
Heyward back to even.
Jason Heyward just threw a baserunner out at the plate…. Satan is shivering!
That was a winning play for the Bravos.
Nice defense there…
man, we needed that.
June 19th, 20128:55 pm
Nice throw from Heyward. That would have been yet another inning that began with two quick outs and then unraveled. It is strange how often innings have unraveled for the Braves this season have achieving two outs rather quickly.
Swisher singles to RF, great throw by Braves Heyward to cut down Tex at the plate. Inning over.
Heyward took great path to ball, got it while running in and threw in one smooth motion, perfect throw.
I cannot believe Mac held on to that Is our luck changing?
I love the Braves pre-game “thumb it in” question. Who is the greatest player to spend his entire career with one team? Ted Williams? Micky Mantle? Joe DiMaggio? Derrick Jeter? or Chipper Jones?
Obviously some people who post here must do the stupid pre-game poll because Chipper got 75% of the vote! lmao!
Ted Williams ain’t squat! lmao what a bunch of dumb homers!
June 19th, 20128:56 pm
i’ve ripped McCann a lot for bad technique…
He hung in there @ the plate that time.
Way to go B-Mac!
Meh, meaningless OF assist.
June 19th, 20128:57 pm
This team is absolutely pitiful!
Maybe that play was a spark that wakes up the batting order.
This team has the talent to hustle and take the extra base resulting in a run, or have a great AB that results in an RBI double, or a wicked throw from the outfield to nail the runner at the plate. But then those same players bobble the ball or make a baserunning blunder. Inconsistency that is frustrating.
Nice leadoff double, BMac!!
And Mac comes back with a lead off double
McCann better score in this inning.
June 19th, 20128:58 pm
B Mc two bagger
Take a poll! Will the Braves score or leave him stranded?
A little ABC baseball should give us the lead.
uggla needs a longer bigger bat
June 19th, 20128:59 pm
oh danny missed his pitch there…
Goodie goodie. Got in just in time to watch our allstar second sacker. If I’m to believe you apologists, he is so damn good that he’ll probably hit a two-run dinger right here.
B-Mac showing why many still consider him the best hitting catcher in the NL.
But now the announcers are saying, “the good news is you have Uggla at the plate” OUCH!
WAR!…Uhh, good gawd y’all, what is is good for? Absolutely nuthin’! Say it again, now.
So sometimes that pitch is a strike and sometimes it’s not…huh…
One down. Mac still standing at second
Uggs is just totally clueless tonight. Totally clueless. Couldn’t even get a bat on the ball to move the runner over. WOW.
June 19th, 20129:00 pm
Does Dan Uggla ever do anything fundamentally correct for the Braves at the plate? My goodness his futility in situations were he can move a runner over is awful.
2 outs, Mac at third. So I asked, will he be stranded?
If Uggla is elected to the All-Star game, he should respectfully bow out. He should issue a statement saying “Seriously, America? Have you seen me play?”
Uggs having a rough night at the plate. Has 3 K’s already. : – }
A grounder to second by Uggs might have led to a run scored there.
Waffle House or Bust
UGGLA IS A MAJOR BUST.
Another horrible signing by Wren. How much longer is this guy going to screw up Braves baseball?
Come on Hoss

June 19th, 2012
22 yr olds playing in the big leagues make mistakes, the talent shines through but the kids are learning on the job.
pheonix: now that’s funny right there!
McCann rarely hits deep fly balls to left center, except in a park with a death valley apparently.
Uggla 3 Ks tonight bring his total to 78 and ties Rickie Weeks for the NL lead
What? So it ain’t so Braves fans. Dan Uggla has struck out 3 times tonight already? How the hell is that possible with his talent? I mean, he’s hitting .248. Ain’t that supposed to be great for an all star? Oh woe is me!
June 19th, 20129:02 pm
Uggla….get with it….his OBP is up but we need a solid base knock there–just get run home; but I just think he is looking to drive one—like Mantle used to—when he didn’t wiff likewise.
June 19th, 20129:03 pm
C’mon show your faith! Will Mac be stranded or not? Be Brave! Answer the question!
Jason Heyward just threw a baserunner out at the plate…. Satan is shivering!
That’s two I’m sure of and he would have had another if Ross had not whiffed the throw.
Yep. Heyward is terrible.
June 19th, 20129:04 pm
Way to go, JHey!!!!!!
That will work!!!!!!!!
Hope Tex is OK.
Who the heck is voting for Uggla in the All-Star balloting? American League fans wanting home field advantage?
The A Bomb
If that wasn’t McCovey-esque, nothing else will be.
J-Hey scalded that ball.
Thats J Hey power there’s a bruise for tex
Dan Uggla leads all NL 2nd basemen in:
Most pitches seen (total)
And he’s 2nd in RBI
As soon as Teixeira stood up reading his lips he said “Oh my God”
June 19th, 20129:05 pm
Notice Tex staying in? Chipper would be on his way to getting cut. Tell ya dude likes the knife.
Shame on you! You had the opportunity to support your team yet you wouldn’t commit to them scoring! lol
Credit to Heyward, The Yankees pitcher is serving it right where he likes it and he’s not missing. The pitcher must not read scouting reports.
Are first and third basement going to start wearing shin guards in the field?
phoenix – Voters who like HR, RBI, and OPS, I guess.
go opo kid
June 19th, 20129:06 pm
Somebody put that ball on the grill because it was smoked.
Is Simmons really Yunel 2.0?
cabravesfan – NL 2nd basemen must really suck if worse than Uggla. Personal stats mean squat to me. He has hurt the team more than help them. Remember this is about a TEAM not personal stats.
June 19th, 20129:07 pm
LAG: and strikeouts. Since he leads the league.
