Here’s the best quote about JJ,”He’s 3-4 with a 5.27 ERA in nine starts for Gwinnett. He’ll likely throw a couple of innings one day early this week in Gwinnett to stay sharp”. Oh yes, have to stay sharp, keep that 5.27 ERA and losing record sharpness. Hate to see what his ERA will be if he’s not sharp.

All this talk about Pitching. We now 20+ innings w/o scoring a single run. Were should priorities be?

It seems we’re seeing on these AJC blogs the same kind of polarization our whole country is experiencing. Some become highly angry and condemning when the Braves – or any one Brave – struggle, and others of attempt to maintain the balance by expressing only the positive side of the matter. It would be more constructive, and much more fun, if we could express our concerns and our encouragement in terms that don’t imply we should ship the entire team off to Somalia.

Clearly the Braves have some serious issues right now. Beachy’s arm has to rank as a huge concern, and when combined with JJ’s problems this year, our starting rotation has floundered. Nonetheless, the newest guys, Minor and Delgado, have been coming on. If those two, Hudson, Hanson, and perhaps Medlen can perform at the levels we usually expect of them, the team will be quite competitive. Of course, that assumes the offense produces some runs.

The inconsistency of our run production is baffling. Are we as good as it seems we should be? (I know; that’s not a well-constructed question, but I think you understand.) McCann, Freeman, and Chipper all have been question marks, in different ways. What the answer is to improve, I don’t know, but I do have high hopes because I see talented guys on the field. Uggla has tailed off a bit lately, but Heyward and Simmons are stepping up. Even Diaz seems to be on a roll.

Only time will tell for sure, but we could be only a few days away from another long winning streak. As for the business/money side of things: It is what it is, and as long as we live in a free market economy, fans have no say-so with regard to the behaviors of team owners.

Where the Braves will be in a week…???? Well, three weeks ago we lost 8 straight and we are STILL IN SECOND PLACE in the NL East and we are still in the Post-Season as the second Wild Card.

We could be 9 games out like the phabulous fillies… or we could be 3 games out in the Wild Card Race like the World Champion Cardinals…. or we could be 16.5 games out like the Cubs

Dis any of you experts consider if JJ is effective next week and the few other starts he could make before July’s deadline only good can come of it, either they trade him or another started for the bat they need.
If he bombs he’s DFA anyway. Not much to lose except the Boston game.

I KNEW this was going to happen to Beachy before he threw his FP Saturday. The jackass mentality dominates the Braves clubhouse. DOPE THE INJURY and PLAY HURT or be called a cry baby. The young guys have EVERYTHING to loose by playing hurt. Beachy should have waited. I bet you the farm that he has messed his elbow up and will be out the remainder of the season. GUYS – when you have an injury and have it repaired…it TAKES a WHILE to heal. LET IT. DON’t fall victum to the work horse demand. Moylan played the ‘hero’ and his career is DONE for. So, you allow yourself time to heal and get back in the groove and the Braves get pissed…what is the worst that can happen? I think we ALL know the answer to THIS question. I hope the best for Brandon Beachy and I hope Jurrjens KICKS ASS on Friday.

Flyin South: What you wrote makes sense; still, the nature of those ligaments is that if one is going, you could nurse it forever, and it still will tear the next time it’s stressed. If it’s going to go, the sooner the better because then a young guy like Beachy can have the surgery and get back. Then he may pitch for years with no further problems. That’s sort of the approach I’m taking with my knees. I could sit around, and they would get no better. So, I use them, and when they wear out, I’ll have the surgery. Meanwhile, I’m staying fit and may actually live a bit longer.

Doesn’t matter what kind of arm you have starting or in the bullpen, if you don’t score any runs your not going to win, quit worring about the pitching and get us a couple of hitters.

I hope Beachy doesn’t need Tommy John surgery, but Fredi Gonzalez can’t use his injury as an excuse. Fredi sucks as a manager and that has shown in his collapse in both Florida and Atlanta. He needs to be fired at seasons end, and this team needs a new direction. Screw Gonzalez, screw Liberty Media, and screw the direction this team is headed. The fans and this team deserve better.

There is a reason FG is despised by Marlin fans, players and m’ment. He has a history of disrespecting some players while allowing others a get out of jail free card. He allowed Mike Minor a RIDICULOUS amount of ‘chances’ while giving last years All Star 4 starts and then banishes him to AAA pergatory and publically humilates him to hell and back. CJones is allowed to play per game patty cake while Marteen Prado is bounced from pillar to post…Alas, I digress. Not only are the fans mortified and confused, I believe the teams morale is FRIED. DAMN I MISS BOBBY COX.

Exactly why the Braves won’t amount to jack crap this year. They have completely forgot to hit with men in scoring position with less than 2 outs. Think Minor will continue to keep these Yankees at bay? Those wasted opportunities will come back to bite them in the ass in this game just like it has all year so far. This team is clearly the Kings at choking.

Told you, the flood gates are about to open. This team couldn’t hold a lead to save their lives. They could mess up a wet dream.

Lol. What a useless f’n team. That’s what happens when a scared little boy faces a real team. Maybe if the Braves could do with 2 outs what every team they play against does to them, they would win some games. Oh how I wish the team that I have followed for 30 years would be like other teams, and not the cheap ass useless team they are. Why be a fan of a team with no heart?

I damn don’t miss Bobby..fredi’ is just like him. Thats one of the main problems.

John S should make Frank Wren manage the team because he thought it was so good. It would be interesting to see Wren trying to manage. lol

The Braves are in deep sh*#..they have no pitchers to call up. The farm system don’t have any ready and the ML team has all injuries…Guess they’ll call up McCurry who they just bought from Padras minor A team. They don’t have anything to trade…

Pathetic. Pretty sad when you have more faith in your team choking than winning. Had a no hitter to start the 5th inning and with 1 out in the 6th inning they are down by 2. About what to expect from this team. As soon as they give up the lead they just roll over and play dead and give up. They should call themselves the Atlanta Possums. That would be more fitting for these guys. Can’t wait until Chipper is gone, Gonzalez gets fired, McDowell gets fired, and Liberty Media sells the team. Maybe then this team will be relevant again. Until then they will be a bunch of losers.

Braves used to have an air of confidence almost arrogance. Florida Fatboy and Wren have screwed up this whole deal. The air about them is we would like to win, not we will win. Field leadership does not exist. C Jones. HE IS OUT OF HERE and goes through the motions every 3 out of 5 days. McCann is not Charismatic and appears to be challallenged intellectually. no leadership= no wins. FF is not a leader and proves the Marlins knew something the Braves(wren) did not.
