@Va Braves fan — Kotchman never did live up to what he was supposed to be even with the Angels, he is an average player when he has been good, but to have Kotchman replace a star like Tex, that was in insult to Braves fans.
Would have been better off taking back the draft choices instead of Kotchman/Marek.
Kotchman does not hit with enough power or drive in enough runs. He was good but not great in 07.

Tex for Kotchman and Merek ended up as a terrible trade. But like I said the Braves thought they were still getting a 290/370/450 hitter in Kotchman.

On that pop out to first, clearly in foul ground, the ump pointed skyward for the infield fly rule anyway. If it’s dropped in foul ground, obviously the rationale for the rule doesn’t come into play.
So why call ARoid out automatically that way when it’s a foul ball? Is it just the rule, period, is it discretionary depending on how close to the line it is or just what?

Of course Kotchman was a huge step down from Tex, but still at only 25 years old and the season he had in 2007 we thought he’d be pretty good. 372 OBP 840 OPS 37 Doubles is not bad.

I will always appreciate Mikey’s work here even if he wars another uni next yr which I expect him to.
An rooting for Frenchy too, regardless how it ended. Will do the same for Mc Cann.
It will not feel good being a farm system for the rest of MLB, but will always like the players who serves so well here.
I even rooted for Tommy G. when he was a Met so long as it was not vs us.

“372 OBP 840 OPS 37 doubles” and ZERO runs scored. He was the slowest human being I’ve ever seen play a sport. McCann looks like Bourn compared to Kotchman.

Kotchman will never see 20 HRs and 80 RBI’s in his lifetime Va Brave.
Guess we can agree to disagree. As it turned out, Kothcman and Brandon Wood who were supposed to be so highly ranked by BB America in 05 were disappointments, Kotchman is a journeyman major league guy and Wood was a BUST with a capital B.
Baseball America is not right alot of the time. That is why I do not get excited about prospects. I believe it when I see it.
Look how the Baby Braves let us down (save for Mc Cann).
