I guess Fredi is only a good manager with subpar teams. When he’s got a classy organization and a good team on the field to manage, he becomes absurdly optimistic. That attitude might have worked with Durbin in recent weeks, but it’s certainly backfiring with Jonny.

Let the June Swoon begin , this type of loss will take the heart right out of a team. Second Guessing will surely begin and Fredo has brought it on himself with his lame decision making in close games. Kimbrel should have been ready to bring in against A-roid ,That was the deciding at bat in the ballgame.Martinez or Fattboy Hernandez could have pitched the damn 9th.

And for those wanting to blame Venters. Blame Wren and Fredi instead.
Wren didn’t bother giving Fredi any other options last year other than the “big three”. Or even more offense so he wasn’t forced to bring them in so often.
But face facts people. Venters inability to get guys out this year is DIRECTLY related to being overused to no end by Bobby in 2010 and the Fredi last year.
Ridiculous.
Fredi just might be the WORST manager in baseball. Been saying it for months. I’m actually happy he’s proving me right. Hopefully he’ll be gone by this time tomorrow.

Braves will go down now like “whipped puppies with their tails between their legs”. AND then after the game, at the post game conference, all the sportswriters and broadcasters, etc. will pretend nothing just happened, and that everything is just rosy. No matter what the excuses by FG they will be accepted as gospel, and never questioned. Then, it will happen again and again throughout the year with the Braves manager and owners doing nothing, just saying “it will be better next year”. BUT, it never is, is it? If fans demand success with their money, they usually get it. Accept mediocrity with your support and you will get that too.

Fricking Fredi G. Why did he let Teheran pitch with a 4-0 lead only to yank him with bases loaded and allowing a run, yet Minor was cruising, allowed a weak single to Jeter and he pulls him. WTF, I guarantee Minor gets out of the inning allowing maybe 1 run, if any. But no, Captain Hook yanks him and brings in Johnny Flash in the Pants Venters. I mean seriously, WTF is wrong with Venters???? Something has to be, cause he just doesnt have it this year.

But Venters should have NEVER been left in to face Arod. And Gearrin shouldn’t have been brought in there.
Hell, wasn’t Venters allowed to face one more guy after the slam?
Fredi can’t think past the moment and likely can’t count to potatoe. He’s horrible.

I don’t understand why we have managers who s*it their britches when our starter hits the 100 pitch count. Minor was cruising. Fredi should have left him in.
I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I wish that Fredi was a little bit more like Charlie Manuel from Philly. He has no problem leaving Halladay, Hamels, or Lee in to go the distance even if it means they throw 125 pitches in a game. Halladay had how many complete games last year??? And we had, what, TWO out of all our starters for the whole season??? Have some friggin confidence in your starters Fredi!

Gearrin is never “the guy”, a lefty was coming up so he brought in the lefty who breezed through some of their better hitters last night. EOF i’m guessing is not available. BAS it’s relative. Minor was cruising and in control. With a 4-0 lead, one baserunner spells the end of the night?
Yet when the guy who seemingly can’t get anybody out for the past two months has the bases loaded in a 4-0 game is left out there?
Where’s the consistency.
Had Fredi had a short leash with Venters, I don’t think people would be as upset about yanking Minor. I wouldn’t be. I get it.
But no way should Venters A) been the one to come into that game. B) Been left out there to face Arod. C) been left in for one more batter AFTER the Arod slam.
Fredi has lost his mind. He’s a baffoon. This team will NEVER win a playoff series with Fredi G as the manager. It’s that simple.
If youre content with being “in the picture” of the playoff hunt? Fine. He might be your guy. There just might be enough talent to win despite his managing faults.
But to rely on him to lead a team where they want to be? Not a chance.
Ask the Marlins.

Other than the poor pitching of Venters and Gearrin, and the ineptitude of Fredi Gonzalez, that inning might have been different if the Braves had better defenders at 2b and 3b. The singles by Jeter and Granderson barely sneaked through the infield. Had the infielders made those plays, everything would be fine. I still blame Fredi for bad decisions, but the infield defense was partly to blame there.
