I give Minor two more starts and I am pulling for him.
All I want is signifigant improvement and put them in a position to win the game. Even if its a L or no decision, I want him to make better pitches in tough situations.
If he cannot pitch with men on base, in the MLB, you cannot keep him on a contending team that has competitive aspirations like the Braves are in right now.
I do want him to believe in himself

Im looking up the last 2 nights because thats what these eyes are seeing but I guess in your mind Nolie/Lawton, Uggla must have not struck out in the 1st inning with Prado on 3rd with less than 2 outs in back to back games.
Joe in SoCal
Beach Boy bearing down!! I like it.
May 17th, 20128:00 pm
In my mind, I’m not going to judge a player on one or two at bats, because that would just be stupid.
May 17th, 20128:01 pm
For a rookie Pastornicky could be worse.
He has a likeble offensive game, defensively, there are things that he has to work on and some of that could be improved.
In two yrs, Simmons should be the starting shortstop. More of a natural for the position.
Uggla this year -
RISP – .293 .400 .439 .839
On 1st lt 2 outs – .346 .400 .385 .785
on 3rd, lt 2 out – .400 .462 .500 .962
-2- – .300 .462 .700 1.162
–3 – .400 .500 .400 .900
i respect more the bloggers who hate a player for whatever reason and admit it than the ones whose hatred is clearly evident but they still want to justify it hiding behind 2 ABs.
It seem like I read the Braves were getting a runner in from third with less than two outs 55% of the time.
May 17th, 20128:02 pm
the last two nights? Thats your sample size? Forget it dude. Baseball is based on failure nobody succeeds all the time and every player who ever played had way longer streaks of failure than 2 nights. Including Babe ruth and Ted Williams
I’m not judging him im just calling him to not swing at obvious 1st pitch balls. I’m asking him to take a more conservative approach instead of chopping down Red Woods.
May 17th, 20128:03 pm
if so that is a pretty decent average Bat if I remember my stats
May 17th, 20128:04 pm
FF!!!Now thats makin up for it..krack a lackin..
worthless homer with none on……
Nice work by the eye doctor.
Scoring the runner from 3rd with less than 2 outs:
League Average: 48%
Ok Nolie/Lawton and Cricket are the same person because nobody is putting that much effort into other peoples posts to look other peoples stats………but whatever.
May 17th, 20128:05 pm
Has anyone else noticed since I accused Waffle House of being Veer, neither has posted?
7th HR…pretty impressive for the lad.
And the Braves have just 2 players that are below that league average:
Hinske and Bourn
Lawton—Uggla does give fans some frustrating at bats from time to time, and his woeful first half last yr still might be in the mind of some people.
Imagine what his numbers would have been without that 33 game streak.
Now, I like Uggla and there is no other more productive second baseman in recent yrs I can think of other than Robinson Cano. Maybe make an argument for Dustin Pedroia. But first impressions can lead to erroneous perceptions.
The numbers that Dan has to date are more than acceptable.
As you said, facts–that is what its about.
May 17th, 20128:06 pm
Freeman can sure hit.
Yeah that’s pretty good. Hardly automatic, though.
Waffle House or Bust
Anyone that defended Larry Parrish last season on here should be banned from posting in 2012.
May 17th, 20128:07 pm
Actually, there are only 4 or 5 real people on the blog. Just a few people talking to themselves.
(who am I associated with?)
great job using the whole field, Mac.
Looky what happens when you go the other way BMac.
C’mon Mac, you shoulda had a triple outta that.
Thats because alot of people post under other personas im always J-Man. Im sometimes wrong and I’m sometimes right.
Nolie/Lawton and Cricket..J-man
selfish hack, should’ve tried to hit a single
May 17th, 20128:08 pm
HEAP!!! lovin’ spoonful!!
There you go McFann! Your favorite a DOUBLE!
keylargo – I actually have a life and left my computer to eat.
The stats are easy to find, takes me a 5 seconds to find them. So, when people talk out of their rear ends, sometimes I fact check. I enjoy it.
May 17th, 20128:09 pm
“worthless homer with none on” nolie
@Keylargo….I think alot of that stuff goes on herein–last night I made what I thought was a funny comment re: Ozzie and got bombed by a Darth Obama….who, by the way writes similarly structured lines on this blog under another moniker–kicks, they enjoy the ‘kicks.’
If we can only get Heyward to get hot with Freddie that is a big yes.
If you can have a hot Heyward, Freeman and Uggla in the playoffs—Now you can expect something real nice for ATL fans for a change–a reverse of the disappointments we have had over the last 12 months.
We deserve a break from the disappointments we have had for sure.
Raining HARD in Vinings area. Get ready Turner Field. It is coming your way. Daaaaaang!!!
Just a few people talking to themselves. (who am I associated with?)
That’s easy. Wayne = Ward
to look other peoples stats
well, i tried to find my stats but couldn’t find any..baseball reference sure is not up-to-date
B Mc Dub
May 17th, 20128:11 pm
Ok lets see who is who……
I think lobosolo/Reckingball/Tommy could be the same people.
I think Vainece and Cabraves are the same only because Veinec Beach is in Cali and I dont have no proof beyond that lol.
But people post under different names just to try to say their somebody elso so they make it appear that they have a majority of people behind them.
I’m pretty sure my car windows are cracked. It is hailing really bad in Vinings area.
Hey, me and ward be buds!
If we can only get Heyward to get hot with Freddie
disturbing visual..not that anything’s wrong with that
May 17th, 20128:12 pm
Damn I can spell Venice Beach tonight ……..Damn alcohol
8 quick outs and call it a game
gamesday Scout says Beach Boy may start losing effectivesness…after 45 pitches players are hitting .229 against…Sheesh really? Minor would take that in a heart beat.
May 17th, 20128:13 pm
My alter ego is Proton…………… and there was a time, way in the past when I was associated with that dastardly Wayne in Utah. But now, Wayne is dead to me!
Nice Seinfeld reference Cricket/Nolie/Lawton………..
Joe in SoCal:
i know, right. it says that every night about every pitcher.
May 17th, 20128:14 pm
I promise. VJ and I are most definitely NOT the same person. We are not even the same gender.
Freddie needs to wear the Rick “Wild Thing” Vaughn glasses
………….Wayne, I never seen Ward except late at night and you’ve got insomnia.
Rumor has it that the twitter girl wants to get hot with me, but no girl, I am taken!!!
Hugo Z Hackenbush
May 17th, 20128:15 pm
J-Man, I’m pretty sure you’re an idiot all by yourself.
Beachy is a really good pitcher boys and girls. Minor should study him and learn how to be a MLB pitcher.
another nice inning by Beachy
So are you saying VJ is Transgender????
I contend that Freddie Freeman is the most important position player on this team. Course that is just my opinion.
May 17th, 20128:16 pm
VJ was Vinings Jim before he moved out here and Smyrna Jim before that (I made him change it because I got tired of having to look up the proper spelling of Smyrna- and I have no idea if that is correct)
Which takes less effort? To type “I was wrong” or type a paragraph falsely accusing someone of using multiple names on the blog???
Anyone else in the area get hit by that freaking storm? I would hate to be at Turner tonight. That was some end of the world stuff.
You’re onto me………… (excepting that he comes on mid afternoon before heading off to work, and I am usually out and on the road somewhere)
No! WE! We are not the same gender!
Beach Boy for the AS game!! who’s with me?
May 17th, 20128:17 pm
very cool picture with the rain in the distance. Stay on the North Side rain
I guess Tom Glavine knew something when he said last year that he wanted his boy to emulate Beachy’s pitching style.
Hugo……yet another alter Ego of someone who cant just keep 1 screen name……And I’m an Idiot all to myself and your an idiot all to yourself and your 37 screen names lol
just don’t break his fibula
May 17th, 20128:18 pm
anybody seen that alligator attack on biologist? the guy tried to move huge gator armed with a friggin towel..
Remember just two years ago Heyward was picked to be the LeBron of MLB. Thanks Larry Parrish for messing that up.
Interesting story Cabraves
May 17th, 20128:19 pm
Is that Heyward’s first CS this year?
Joe West…posts under the name ‘Go West,’ and loves The Pet Sop Boys.
Heyward sliding headfirst scares the crap out of me.
May 17th, 20128:20 pm
delayed steal attempt hurts – I had no doubt that Pastornicky was going to single after Heyward was thrown out
Heyward’s 3 CS of the year.
May 17th, 20128:21 pm
Interesting conversation. It’d be darn hard to say that one guy is a lot better (or more valuable?) than some others. Obviously, Chipper brings loads of experience and confidence when he is in the lineup. Mac being a very good hitting catcher gives the team a dimension most teams do not enjoy. Bourn for being the catalyst. But I’d almost agree that what Freddie does in the 3 slot and his excellent D might put him ahead of the others.
Heyward, Prado and Uggla can’t be forgotten either.
Hard thing to determine four shore.
marlins record at turner field – uggla – hits and HRs (12)
Once again with the Rev!! give the kid some props folks. This IS the majors…right?
looked like Beachy was scared on that bunt attempt
Anyone sliding head first scares me……Did you know that one reason Tim Raines would slide head 1st was so he wouldnt break the viles of cocaine he kept in his back pocket during the 1980s
May 17th, 20128:22 pm
not that one with 2 strikes though – nice Bunt Beachy
That’s surprising Lowrie. Guess they must have all been games I wasn’t watching.
Heyward got his right hand in before the tag.
Keep drinking J…we might get lucky and you’ll pass out.
Marlins logo looks like a wannabe swanky hotel logo. Not feeling it.
The rev keeps doin good things with the bat.
what Freddie does in the 3 slot and his excellent D
come on now, isn’t he part of no-range fence post gang?
May 17th, 20128:23 pm
Beach Boy is a all around gamer!! Lovin it.
yeah, Rick, me too.
In the 15-13 win over Philly and the first game at Colorado. Then tonight.
I mean Lawton. Where did I get Lowrie from?
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
