DRy heat or no- I’ll pass on that move. No desire to be a DBack’s fan. Of course, I ‘ve had no desire to become a Red Sox fan, either the past eleven years up here..
For the record Omar Infante is getting $ 4,000,000 this year which would have left $8,000,000 free to put toward a real LF / big bat. It’s all business people and Wren sucks at spending money.
If we had Infante, we’d have a .300 hitting second baseman and still need a power hitting LFer. As it stands, we have a power hitting second baseman and a .300 hitting LFer.

The Braves pitched two seasons back to back without a lefty starter, and now they’re going to leave an ineffective lefty in the rotation just to say they have a lefty starter?
Stop it!!!! What’s the true reason?
Put the best 5 starters in the rotation, and find bullpen guys whereever they keep getting the likes of Durbin, Sherrill, Linebrink, etc.
You mean to tell me they can’t find one of those guys available to move Medlen to the rotation?
Why do they want so very bad not to have Medlen in the rotation? What gives?
Move Minor to the pen, and Medlen to the rotation…Fredi did say that Minor pitched a very goo 3+ innings. That’ll get the job done every 3 days.
What to do about MINOR? Trade him and FREDI G to CIN for DUSTY BAKER., then we would have a MGR with some life in him, not a doofuss who sits on bench stareing off in space.
Wren over paid KK, and then pitched him in AA the last year of contract, paid 10 mil to Cleveland to let D-Lowe pitch ther, and now is paying 5+ mil for JJ to stink @ AAA.
You can not make than many mistakes for that kind of money when your budget is 85 – 90 mil.
At that rate, and frequency, he’s throwing away 15% of the budget, with nothing to show for it.
It’s a heap of damn money, no doubt, Joe. The funny thing is I’ve read a couple of articles claiming when you factor in cost of living and taxes the deal is no better than the one the Cards offered.
Highest paid baseball player of all time based on times league average: Ty Cobb @ age 40, 12.59
Ty Cobb is the greatest player Ever along with the Babe and the Hammer. But no way Cobb could play in todays age……..He was like John Rocker times a 1000…….Remember Cobb KILLED a man.
McLouth played terrible baseball and we finally found out he had played two years with a sports hernia. I’ve never heard any legit excuse for flop JJ turned into. Knee injuries don’t cause you to lose your stuff and 5 mph off your fastball. I don’t know why they would hold back on releasing an injury that makes as much difference as it did with those two players.
Jay Dubu – You can post all the facts in the world on here and these guys will defend their idiocracy. I bet they sit there shaking their heads saying nope nope to make them believe they are correct. I hear you though brotha! Wren has messed up A LOT in my opinion. If the Braves were Vegas, Wren would have been kicked out with people looking for him way he blows money.
So far, Miami got the better end of FW’s deal that traded Infante for Uggla–no doubt.

Infante is the more versatile, better defender than Uggla. Puts up better at bats and he’s actually got more homers than Uggla this year so far. Yep, MIA got the better end of the stick so far on that deal.
Lawton – About page 4 on this blog. Just showing Infante numbers to Uggla for money they both make. Same numbers but Uggla makes $9,000,000 more each year. Wasted money to me.
Oh! Wren had many offers coming in for JJ past two seasons and passed with all the young arms we have. How did that work out? Ask the Mets triple A team about that one.
name one offer Wren passed on for JJ. Facts please……..
We’re gonna look at 6 weeks of this season and make that judgement between Uggla and Infante. How about we look at last season? What you do is called cherry-picking the facts that fit your opinion.
While I was delighted last year that we got Bourn–his time with the Braves last year wasn’t great. Yes, so far this season he has been superb, but we need more than 25% of 2012 to evaluate the trade.

Braves’ payroll Frank Wren’s first year (2008) was $102 million. Dropped to $96 mil (2009), $84 mil (2010), $84 mil (2011), and $82 mil this year.
Meanwhile, team he inherited in ‘08 won 72 games; then 86, 91 and 89 wins, and hovering at 1st place this year.
20% cut in payroll, 25% increase in wins. Yeah, he’s a total failure.
