For the record Omar Infante is getting $ 4,000,000 this year which would have left $8,000,000 free to put toward a real LF / big bat. It’s all business people and Wren sucks at spending money.

2. Money left over from Omar would’ve freed up $9,000,000.

so, i think it is an opinion that Uggla’s numbers do not match his salary. Not necessarily my opinion. Uggla is having a pretty darn good season. He is tied for the MLB-lead in Runs Created among all players at his position.

The Braves pitched two seasons back to back without a lefty starter, and now they’re going to leave an ineffective lefty in the rotation just to say they have a lefty starter?
Stop it!!!! What’s the true reason?
Put the best 5 starters in the rotation, and find bullpen guys whereever they keep getting the likes of Durbin, Sherrill, Linebrink, etc.
You mean to tell me they can’t find one of those guys available to move Medlen to the rotation?
Why do they want so very bad not to have Medlen in the rotation? What gives?
Move Minor to the pen, and Medlen to the rotation…Fredi did say that Minor pitched a very goo 3+ innings. That’ll get the job done every 3 days.

Wren over paid KK, and then pitched him in AA the last year of contract, paid 10 mil to Cleveland to let D-Lowe pitch ther, and now is paying 5+ mil for JJ to stink @ AAA.
You can not make than many mistakes for that kind of money when your budget is 85 – 90 mil.
At that rate, and frequency, he’s throwing away 15% of the budget, with nothing to show for it.

McLouth played terrible baseball and we finally found out he had played two years with a sports hernia. I’ve never heard any legit excuse for flop JJ turned into. Knee injuries don’t cause you to lose your stuff and 5 mph off your fastball. I don’t know why they would hold back on releasing an injury that makes as much difference as it did with those two players.

Braves’ payroll Frank Wren’s first year (2008) was $102 million. Dropped to $96 mil (2009), $84 mil (2010), $84 mil (2011), and $82 mil this year.
Meanwhile, team he inherited in ‘08 won 72 games; then 86, 91 and 89 wins, and hovering at 1st place this year.
20% cut in payroll, 25% increase in wins. Yeah, he’s a total failure.

So far, Miami got the better end of FW’s deal that traded Infante for Uggla–no doubt.
FW is no JS when it comes to trades. I was trying to think of a FW deal that worked out really well—can’t think of one.

Infante is the more versatile, better defender than Uggla. Puts up better at bats and he’s actually got more homers than Uggla this year so far. Yep, MIA got the better end of the stick so far on that deal.

While I was delighted last year that we got Bourn–his time with the Braves last year wasn’t great. Yes, so far this season he has been superb, but we need more than 25% of 2012 to evaluate the trade.
