GAME OVER PADRES WIN
May 17th, 201210:07 pm
I was watching another game what happened??????
May 17th, 201210:08 pm
Oh snap, some one calling Ballgame in the Padres game in the 1st inning.
Back into first !
Back in 1st.
Phillies about to win and get above .500 now. Damn it!
May 17th, 201210:09 pm
I hope Braves buckle down and quit playing hot potato with the lead in the division
May 17th, 201210:10 pm
Yeap I F’d up oh well
Big Boy lineup and Big Boy pitching = easy win.
Better……4-7 in the division. Amazing what great starting pitching does. Bullpen all rested for this upcoming series with the RAYS.
Let’s GO BRAVES
mitchell will likely complain that he shoulda been taken out around 100 pitches, being the contrarian that he is….
Damn Drinking and Bloging
May 17th, 201210:11 pm
May 17th, 201210:12 pm
George will point out that we would have won last night if Bourn had played…
I personally think the “100 pitch” Barrier is dumb you should just look at the players and you can tell when their done. Also leaving them out there when there getting lit up because they havent gone 5 innings is really dumb too.
May 17th, 201210:14 pm
Teddy Cahill @tedcahill
McCann on Beachy: “he’s a specimen.”
Maybe he said “spaceman”…

Pitchers throwing deep into games saves your Bull-Pen in the later months in the season.
One more post before I go to do calculus in hopes of cracking the top 25 for a change…

My computer is acting like it’s on speed. IS there a virus that speeds up your computer, got a fast trigger.

May 17th, 201210:19 pm
Boy, sounds like we had a great game! I DVR’d it, so I’ll prolly go through the highlights tomorrow or something…
Ah, Nolasco…he’s a good one. And allow me to fill in a couple blanks I left…
1st inning: Ah, boo…
3rd: RBI DOUBLLLLLLLLLLE!!! AVG up to .256!!!
(Why the crud isn’t Gameday working, anyway? Two nights in a row already…)
End of the game: YAY, BEACHY!!! You ROCK!! CONGRATS!!!
There. That covers the basics, I think…
May 17th, 201210:21 pm
When pitching an activity to others: I would think a day at the beachy would be quite desirable.
May 17th, 201210:22 pm
Take Minor off the front page and put in BEACHY!!!
May 17th, 201210:24 pm
You missed a GREAT Mac smile as he walked off the mound with Beachy
May 17th, 201210:25 pm
Minor needs to see how Beachy approached innings 4-9 tonight and see the kind of adjustments Beachy made
May 17th, 201210:26 pm
WHY AM I GETTING NO PICTURE FOR THE GAME HIGHLIGHTS????? What is wrong with this DANG Gameday crud??
May 17th, 201210:27 pm
Right now the Braves have the pitcher with the best and worst ERA in the NL Starters
May 17th, 201210:28 pm
Aaaaaaaawwww!!…It’s a good thing I was at Church, or I’d be REALLY peeved!!… I’ll have to watch the DVR tomorrow, because apparently the Gameday highlights don’t want to work…
May 17th, 201210:29 pm
Y’all take care…goodnight!
May 17th, 201210:33 pm
All the guys we complimented this afternoon came through.
May 17th, 201210:37 pm
DOWN ON THE FARM
G-Men drop a 2-4 decision to the BISONS. TERHERAN suffers through another hit-fest and brief start. 86 pitches roughly half for strikes. Not good, not good at all.
RHSP JULIO TEHERAN [L 3-2, 3.31 ERA] 2.2 IP, 7 H, 4 R/ER, 5 BB, 2 SO. I’m sure somebody will spin some silver-lining out of this line. My comment….MEH!
RHRP BUDDY CARLISLE [1.80 ERA] 2.1 IP, no hits, 3 SO. Great middle-relief stint by BUDDY!!!! Kept the G-Men in it.
RHRP JAYE CHAPMAN [1.86 ERA] 1.0 IP, no-hits, 1 BB, 2 SO. Solid as a rock.
RHRP CORY GEARRIN [1.19 ERA] 2.0 IP, no-hits, 1 BB, 4 SO. Sa-weet!
The relief corps was exemplary tonight.
C J.C.BOSCAN [.205 BA] 2-3.
PH JOSE YEPEZ [.230 BA] 1-1.
LF STEF GARTRELL [.257 BA] 2-4, 1 R, 1 2B . 1 BB. STEF’s on a tear raising his average almost forty points over the past couple of weeks.
1B ERNESTO MEJIA [.296 BA] 1 2B , 1 RBI , 1 DP unassisted. Looks like this guy’s for real folks. Performing at a carbon-copy rate same as last year in AA. I don’t know where the BRAVES will stash him, but that bat is going to be hard to keep out of an everyday slot in the majors by next year this time…..
RF CHRIS MARRERO [.259 BA] 1-4, 1 2B , 1 RBI .
3b JOE TERDOSLAVICH [.201 BA] 2-4. he breaks through the mendoza-line and in just three games raises his BA 21 points. Maybe he’s put a patch on that hole in his swing. One can only hope. Now if we can just get the leather out……
May 17th, 201210:40 pm
Sopheeee All the guys we complimented this afternoon came through.
Ah, yes! We must do that again sometime…
May 17th, 201210:43 pm
Meija vs Gattis = Godzilla vs Gorgo
May 17th, 201210:44 pm
Well Julio got lit up a tad……..This could be Todd Redmond’s chance if Minor Struggles anymore…..Or maybe Oswalts phone could be getting a call.
May 17th, 201210:46 pm
I’m getting really peeved at the non-working highlights. I’m getting sound, but no picture—that’s what I had on the radio, idiot! Now I want to SEE stuff… Somebody fix this…
Hope it’s not my computer. Guess it could be the browser. Have I mentioned in the past week that I despise Google Chronium? ‘Cause I do. AnNOYing…
May 17th, 201210:48 pm
Oh well…I think it’s time for bed…NICE GOING, Bravos! Now go beat up on Florida’s other team…Last time the Braves went to Tampa Bay, they snapped their 10-game losing streak, if memory serves…That was in 2006.
Chrome is the best browser in creation… I’ve used every one that has ever been available
May 17th, 201210:49 pm
Really? Well, to each his own…It’s the only one that wants to “work” for me, so I have no choice it would seem…
May 17th, 201210:50 pm
May 17th, 201210:51 pm
May 17th, 201210:52 pm
I’ll have to agree with you Nolie, especially since I figured out how to make the AdBlock Plus work. I still like Mozilla but Google Chrome is #1.
May 17th, 201210:53 pm
Not working for me either, McFann, using Firefox…. good to see your boy go to left field a couple of times tonight (his double was fly ball right on the LF line)
May 17th, 201210:57 pm
Looking forward the series with the St Pete Pensioners.
May 17th, 201210:58 pm
used FireFox for years, got tired of all the craziness everytime the open code was updated by some idiot
May 17th, 201211:00 pm
St Pete Pensioners…Bat
hey I resemble that remark. I watch a lotta Rays games, they are hot again after a small cold spell
May 17th, 201211:03 pm
hit pensioners on arm, they fall down
May 17th, 201211:04 pm
yeah, Rhymes sure is a sissy, no doubt. there is no fainting in baseball
TENNESSEE bests the Bandits tonight 3-2.
RF KEENAN WILEY [.353 BA] 2-4. Moved out of the lead-off slot and hitting eight, but remains hot as a firecracker at the plate.
Lead-off CF TODD CUNNINGHAM [.337 BA] 2-4, 2 R. Move one hot hitter out, move another hot hitter in.
2B PHIL GOSSELIN [.254 BA] 1-4, 1 RBI .
LF ‘Big Jim’ GATTIS [.315 BA] 1-4, 1 2B , 1 RBI .
3B JOE LEONARD [.243 BA] 1-3, 1 BB.
RHSP ZEKE SPRUILL [L 3-4, 4.03 ERA] 6.0 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 SO, 1 E [3, missed catch at first]. Good enough for a win. Not great, but good enough.
RHRP ‘Aussie ANDY’ RUSSELL [2.45 ERA] 1.0 IP, no hits, 1 SO. Good stuff.
RHRP CORY RASMUS [1.56 BA] 1.0 IP, zeros, 2 BB, 1 SO.
RHRP MARK LAMM [2.45 ERA] 1.0 IP, no hits, 1 SO.
Great relief job, but the bats don’t overcome two errors, and two unearned runs.
May 17th, 201211:06 pm
They shoulda let me name the team, nolie. Woulda been a hit with the shuffleboard crowd.
I think their record is pretty much the same as the Braves.
May 17th, 201211:07 pm
cricket, are you going to any of the games?
May 17th, 201211:09 pm
yup it is. they were very hot for a goo0d while and then lost 6 of 7 or something like that. now have won 4 of last 5 I think. could be a good series
May 17th, 201211:10 pm
Bat, I am planning to go to at least one game – most prob. saturday. can’t make it tomorrow.
I call the the shuffleboardders to tease my aunt who is a fan
May 17th, 201211:12 pm
if I can get away, I might try to get there Sunday for a game
May 17th, 201211:14 pm
Hope it’s a good one, cricket.
May 17th, 201211:15 pm
Brandon Beachy….gotta tip your cap to him! Wow!
May 17th, 201211:16 pm
Ah, good deal, nolie. Hope you get to. Are you taking the aunt you tease?
May 17th, 201211:17 pm
gotta give Fredi some credit for sending him back out there every inning
if I can work it out Bat. 50-50 at this point I guess
May 17th, 201211:21 pm
“gotta give Fredi some credit for sending him back out there every inning”
Only Bobby Cox would’ve pulled Beachy in the 7th for Durbin.
May 17th, 201211:30 pm
Phils almost blew a 5-run lead in the 9th
May 17th, 201211:43 pm
postgame quotes are up
final game story is up
SBerthiaumeESPN Steve Berthiaume
#Braves 18-5 when Chipper Jones starts. 6-10 when he doesn’t.
May 17th, 201211:46 pm
Bourn(57hits) and Prado (46hits)=103 hits. The best one-two of NL.
May 17th, 201211:47 pm
cab, you asked what a #1 starter looked like. you saw it tonight.
May 17th, 201211:50 pm
damn nolie here is hoping you make that game…if you need a ride I’ll fly down and rent a car and drive you
grinch and I defended beachy last season after a rough start and got blasted.
i have been his biggest supporter. the dude has mound presence.
reminds me of mike mussina.
May 17th, 201211:51 pm
David Schoenfield’s Brandon Beachy, baseball’s underrated ace.
ok maybe thats too much work
May 17th, 201211:52 pm
uga – not saying beachy isnt awesome but you need more than 1 CG shutout to be a #1 starter. He is well on his way but still a long way to go
May 17th, 201211:53 pm
nolie – seriously if you can make it let me know and I’ll reach out to someone and see about getting you tickets to the game
May 17th, 201211:55 pm
and I really like the guy as well BTW
Kings win again. Morphing into one of the best play-off stories in quite a while…
man empty room and it ain’t even midnight
May 17th, 201211:56 pm
cab – and you said last night they are playing the clippers? or is that the next series?
The game was the first of six playoff contests in four days at Staples Center, where the NBA’s Lakers and Clippers will host back-to-back second-round playoff games this weekend. The Tour of California – the nation’s largest cycling race – also finishes outside the arena about 30 minutes before the puck drops on Game 4 Sunday. .
May 17th, 201211:57 pm
no! The Kings are hockey.
May 17th, 201211:58 pm
aint it great to see prado back to what makes him really good.
spaying the ball to all fields.
last season he got pull happy. now 12 doubles and 2 trips.
really the sacramento kings left the NBA and started playing hockey…I woulda thunk them tall fellers would have a tough time on skates. I might want to watch one of them games
May 18th, 201212:00 am
My work here is done. DOB will be rejoining y’all from Tampa….Good night!
The Sacramento Kings are still attempting to play basketball (I used to be a huge Sac Kings fan…). The LA Kings are making an incredible run to their first Stanley Cup Final in 19 years
uga – you think pull happy was the issue last year? I havent looked at his spray chart (guess I will now) but I was thinking the injury had a bigger impact.
May 18th, 201212:02 am
tiger, name the last nine inning game anyone one this team has thrown?
May 18th, 201212:07 am
well its about time gretzky gets another cup
tiger, check it out. check out the doubles last season,
he is on pace for 50 doubles. that is a huge number.
40 in 2010. 26 in 2011.
Yunel's Frosted Tips
“In every state……there’s a station……..playin’ Cash, Hank, Willie and Waylon”…..
May 18th, 201212:10 am
definitely different results not sure I would call 2011 pull happy though – but I do love to watch him go the other way. Maybe he has cranked more inside pitches for HR’s this year so pitchers are pitching him the other way?
I dunno I’m no expert will have to let nolie opine
May 18th, 201212:12 am
uga – agree he is hitting a ton better not sure it has to do with difference in approach but in health I guess
May 18th, 201212:15 am
cmon, tiger prado is back to being what prado should be. the dude is spraying the ball where it is pitched with authority.
the two most important offensive guys we have are hitting 1&2.
May 18th, 201212:20 am
I agree he is back all I’m saying is numbers don’t show its because he was pull happy last year
May 18th, 201212:24 am
braves had 3 CG last year 2 by JJ and 1 by huddy. and again I think beachy is awesome but not because of CG’s.
Hell Vazquez had 3 in 2010 for us and I don’t think I would consider him a #1 starter
May 18th, 201212:28 am
tiger, maybe he thought most guys that play left have to hit 20 bombs.
i am a huge prado fan. i think he is now more comfortable in his role.
injuries aside. very possible. the dude is a spray hitter. line to line gap to gap.
May 18th, 201212:29 am
hell tiger, did you watch vasquez’s last start against us last season?
May 18th, 201212:32 am
he is definitely one of those I love to watch play…especially love it when they shift on him or play way off the line
May 18th, 201212:33 am
yep I did
