I think Minor would be a better spot reliever
JNick, they do that to every starter, theyare always much better the first 45 than the rest of the way. It ain’t just Minor
Buehrle with 44 pitches so far. This approach looks like last year’s Braves…
If Minor doesn’t get it together the rest of this game, I say get him out of there. Maybe send him to Gwinnett to work on his pitches/control-or to the bullpen. Medlen should be moved into the rotation.
Walk Mac and face Diaz. Thats what Marlins should do

What is sad is that they will keep a bum like Minor around just to save money, that is the way it is.
I’d rather Livan start. Why keep running Minor out there when there is apparently something wrong with the kid..mentally or something. Don’t think it’s fair to him really because he lacks confidence at the moment.
@Disgusted, JJ got AAA hitters out in spring training too, doesn’t mean squat. He needs to perform at the ML level. As for his past performance, in reality, he hasn’t done much – had one good season, one good half season (last year) and not much else. Personally, I think his results have been overrated and the product of a lot of luck. He’s not a dominant pitcher by any means.

Used to be… a guy like Glavine would give up two or three in the first and everyone would be…ok we’re good..we got thru the first now its our game…but with Minor, he gives up two or three and its…Ballgame!! Floodgates open in 3.2.1.
FF would have come up with that short hop that Sanchez didn’t.
Even though they say FF is a mediocre fielder and all.
Lets get Julio up here
Joe west looking fit and trim as always….
One of the last of Skip’s favorite fat umpire targets.
c’mon peeps, just a few games ago y’all were telling me how wrong I’ve been all along about Minor and that he was an ace in waiting. Stand By Your Man
May 16th, 20128:15 pm
Go ahead Mac.
May 16th, 2012
Lets get Julio up here
I defintely wouldn’t mind giving him a shot again.
Good time to pull one there.
Let’s go…let these guys know we won’t quit tonight cause we have some grit for sure.
Its just that Minor gets figured out by the 4th inning every game……Innings 1-3 he is dominant. He just doesnt make adjustments
McFann :Ô: :Ô:
I don’t think that I’d wanna see Minor sent back down and Jurrjens recalled. That would be trading shyt for more shyt. Put Minor in the bullpen and either have Medlen start or let Livan do it. I don’t know how he’s doing it, but Livan is getting people out.
May 16th, 20128:16 pm
Mac defeats the shift!
What? Oh, no shift that time.
@nolie, actually, they don’t – scroll down and look at Tim Hudson. He gets stronger as the game goes on – because he knows how to make adjustments and pitch….
The Braves have something cooking here.. shame Diaz is at the plate..
May 16th, 20128:17 pm
Come on we can make this the Julio town with Julio Jones and Julio Teheran
Ok. Since you mentioned Satan I irroneousely thought you were free. I’ll go to Waffle House as you command.
Watch that fat man run. (joking about the fat part)
Oh yeah—BMac too fast for the DP…

Hotdammit, thievery at it its finest.
What a catch by stanton…. nice try Wayward, er Heyward
Damn Stanton just cost us 2 runs
The fish want this.
For all the talk of Diaz raking against the Marlins, he sures does look like he doesn’t have a clue. I think he’s just living on his past exploits.
Damn you, Giancarlo!!
Are you kidding, Giancarlo “Mike” Stanton?
I’ll be damned
Just a great defensive play…what can you do on that one!
If wayward could hit, that would’ve tied the game….sigh
May 16th, 20128:19 pm
almost all of them do in fact. nothing is ever 100% in baseball, but the majority get worse not better
i’ll be around folks, eating dinner… go braves
May 16th, 2012
STANTON JUST MADE THE PLAY OF THE YEAR
WHAT A CATCH. A GAME SAVING. A GAME CLINCHING CATCH.
BRAVES WON’T RECOVER FROM THAT AMAZING CATCH BY MIKE STANTON
May 16th, 20128:20 pm
j hey almost dude
Third time thru…are they gonna bring Mikey out again?
Nolie there aint no Tammy Wynettes here lol
After being robbed like that, it just might be bad luck…. anyone wanna call ballgame? (sarcasm)
May 16th, 20128:21 pm
What? Did he throw his glove in the air, and the glove caught the ball all by itself?
oh gawd, come on Minor… clean innings please… getting drilled, get Livan ready
That catch was a dagger in our collective hearts. We’re not winning this game. We’re not the phillies…..or the yankees.
Wonder if the Braves executives wish they had traded JJ and or Minor in the offseason when they had a chance to get a decent return and when the value of these two were higher? I mean one of the pitchers is in triple A and the other has a 6+ era in the Majors this year.
Just give reyes second and be done with it…
May 16th, 20128:22 pm
Sending Minor back out to pitch in another inning is like saying, “kick me while I’m down”. Expect more runs to score.
Livan should be pitching.
despite minor’s troubles, might be better than JJ right now
Jurrjens has allowed 8 hits and 8 runs (7 earned) through 3 innings tonight for Triple-A Gwinnett
yank’em…please..yank’em before is 6 nothin….c’mon Fredi..be proactive for once..
May 16th, 20128:23 pm
I erroneously trust people will understand a request to go ‘fly a kite!” Have a great one Big Darth Obama!!!
This rotation is a house of cards. Minor is a AA/AAA pitcher. J.J. is already done. Delgado is inconsistent. Hanson’s shoulder will not make it through July. And then there is the bullpen. Venters has lost it. Durbin? Are you kidding me? The Atlanta Braves will be lucky to finish ahead of the Mets.
WHAT??? JURRJENS allowed 8 runs tonight? Serious?
I think he’s just living on his past exploits…Jerry
yeah, his 1200OS against lefties b4 the game was really just a mirage I guess
Or third…why not.
Bring in anyone, someone, durbin even….
May 16th, 20128:24 pm

Yes, i wonder this as well…. I mean Beltran for this? He’d suck for the Mets too.
Or add him for Pence, that’d been pretty valuable… however, Minor has to recover at some point, this would be his first full season.
Jurrjens has given up 8 runs (7 earned) on nine hits, including two HRs, through four innings tonight for Gwinnett
C’mon…why?..why is he still out there?
Put it in the loss column and move on. This guy can’t pitch worth a damn. Even if he keeps them right there and pitches slightly better from now on.. I believe the Braves would be better off by trading this guy.
Go get them tomorrow.. maybe..
May 16th, 20128:25 pm
they would have gotten no return on JJ, he was considered a major health question
Call up Teheran…give the kid a shot.
May 16th, 20128:26 pm
That catch was a dagger in our collective hearts. We’re not winning this game. We’re not the phillies…..or the yankees. – Mixxo
You’re right — Braves aren’t the Phillies, which is a good thing. Otherwise the Braves wouldn’t have much chance at all of coming back tonight. The Phillies are in last place and have scored 54 fewer runs than the Braves this season.
More great news!
Sounds like JJ is ready….
For Mississippi. Too bad, actually.
got Ramirez, thats good anyway
May 16th, 20128:27 pm
Fredi is really playin with fire…some serious huevos leavin him in there.
If the Braves were to come back and win this catastrophe that Minor has made, it would be a minor miracle.
Damn nolie, I leave to pick up sandwich, and you let THIS happen?
Ric Flair to Right
Braves pitching depth….Not really a bonafide ace, but a bunch of middle of the rotation 2-3’s
May 16th, 20128:28 pm
McCann shouldn’t have thrown there….
Haven’t seen that play work like that since I played rec-league ball…
Lil' Barry Bailout
McCann, you idiot.
Why is Fredi leaving him in?
Maybe i’m wrong in saying this…maybe not.
But that was not one of Mac’s brighter moves there with reyes at third and the obviousness of what was up.
Ok, that’s just laughable!
that is sad
May 16th, 20128:29 pm
“If the Braves were to come back and win this catastrophe that Minor has made, it would be a minor miracle.”
Then won his last two starts and he gave up more runs in both of those.
Big Bri forgot who was on third. Or forgot anybody was on third.
Okay, but Minor would’ve gotten a good return.
Now I have to adjust my prediction to 9-4.
Offense better score 16 because with Minor out there the Fish will score 15.
Too bad the Reds didn’t pull the trigger on the supposed deal for JJ…rumors were that it was somewhat close if my poor memory serves me correctly. He is no good to us now either way.
May 16th, 20128:30 pm
sound of the other shoe falling…
No sense in burning up the pen completely tonight….
Ya kinda get the sense we’re done. Hopefully not, but….
Why is he still in the game??
In all seriousness, Livan Hernandez is the best option for the 5th starter at this point. Just saying
Bourn wouldn’t have fallen down
This is absurd.
Mike Minor really needs to get his crap together.
