If Minor doesn’t get it together the rest of this game, I say get him out of there. Maybe send him to Gwinnett to work on his pitches/control-or to the bullpen. Medlen should be moved into the rotation.

I’d rather Livan start. Why keep running Minor out there when there is apparently something wrong with the kid..mentally or something. Don’t think it’s fair to him really because he lacks confidence at the moment.

@Disgusted, JJ got AAA hitters out in spring training too, doesn’t mean squat. He needs to perform at the ML level. As for his past performance, in reality, he hasn’t done much – had one good season, one good half season (last year) and not much else. Personally, I think his results have been overrated and the product of a lot of luck. He’s not a dominant pitcher by any means.

Used to be… a guy like Glavine would give up two or three in the first and everyone would be…ok we’re good..we got thru the first now its our game…but with Minor, he gives up two or three and its…Ballgame!! Floodgates open in 3.2.1.

I don’t think that I’d wanna see Minor sent back down and Jurrjens recalled. That would be trading shyt for more shyt. Put Minor in the bullpen and either have Medlen start or let Livan do it. I don’t know how he’s doing it, but Livan is getting people out.

Wonder if the Braves executives wish they had traded JJ and or Minor in the offseason when they had a chance to get a decent return and when the value of these two were higher? I mean one of the pitchers is in triple A and the other has a 6+ era in the Majors this year.

This rotation is a house of cards. Minor is a AA/AAA pitcher. J.J. is already done. Delgado is inconsistent. Hanson’s shoulder will not make it through July. And then there is the bullpen. Venters has lost it. Durbin? Are you kidding me? The Atlanta Braves will be lucky to finish ahead of the Mets.

Yes, i wonder this as well…. I mean Beltran for this? He’d suck for the Mets too.
Or add him for Pence, that’d been pretty valuable… however, Minor has to recover at some point, this would be his first full season.

You’re right — Braves aren’t the Phillies, which is a good thing. Otherwise the Braves wouldn’t have much chance at all of coming back tonight. The Phillies are in last place and have scored 54 fewer runs than the Braves this season.
