Prado may not steal you bases, but leading off in his career, in 582 AB (about a season), he’s put up a .297, .339, .462, .801 line. Not bad at all.

Evan Gattis might be an absolute stud or dud. His future like most minor leaguers depends on the ability to hit breaking stuff and making adjustments. But it’s obvious that the entire organization believes they have another diamond in the rough…ala Brandon Beachy.

Thanks for the pic O’Brien. Although I have never been to a game at Wrigley I have drove right past it a time or two. Gotta get there one of these days as Chicago also has one of the coolest World War II exhibits to be found anywhere:

Beyond Braves land,

The Orioles and Rays are tied atop the A.L. East, while the Yankees and Red Sox are wallowing at the bottom of their division.

Then over in the A.L. Central we have the Cleveland Indians leading the charge. In our own NL East…the Nationals (yep, I knew they would win, but 1st?). Over in the NL West, those lowly Dodgers are in first. So what in the blue hazes is going on here? Have the Baseball Gods lost their freaking minds!!!!!

Against tonight’s starter Delgado, righties are hitting only .196 (9-for-46) with a .625 OPS, but lefties .328 (20-for-61) with .865 OPS.

DOB – great-ass column. I understand the cynics, heck, everyone is here and there, but I am hoping that Mr. Gattis makes good. He inspires us the way many cultural and literary figures do. I do like hearing the updates on this guy, and am amazed at how he’s done. Couple of weeks ago I read somewhere to forget about him – he was, according to this writer, a ST footnote, an interesting story, but nothing more. Man, those numbers are wicked – and, as you well-noted, the missing four years didn’t take their toll on his body. Thanks for a great write.

McCann is slowly working his way out of a big contract signing with the Braves…but I’m sure he and this organization will work out a discount deal for the future and BOTH be happy with it…not bad considering his past performances but not good enough to be the FRANCHISE future player…Freeman is probably on his way to earn this title

Nolie – Pastornicky has lived a charmed life with the Official Scores so far. He’s had about 5 or 6 plays that could go either way plus his range is so bad he has avoided a couple of errors there too. Plus Freddie saved his butt more than a few times. He’s not a starter IMO. Sorry.
