Who cares if no one else thinks Gattis is a “prospect”, it matters what the Braves think and since they have a brain, this slugger is a hot prospect! Rooting for you, Evan, hope you make it and your dreams come true. Great Story. Now, back to the Braves tonight, got to win, boys…
DOB, on the broadcast last night, right before commercial when Heyward was stranded on 2nd base, the camera caught, ever so briefly, Heyward yelling at the long haired ex. ND WR turned pitcher. Is there any light you can shed on this? I assume it had to do with Heyward getting plunked earlier in the game, but thought it was odd that it would come up so late in the game.
Hensenberg……..how does Gattis run? LOL He is a knuckledragger who is a catcher. How do you think he runs??????? Gabby Hartnett just ran past him! For those of you that don’t remember, Gabby was the slowest player in ML history.
well, folks, i’ll be getting off now…. got a baseball game tonight, so hoping it doesn’t rain. I will miss the start of the game, but hopefully they start well. I should be back by the 4th inning.
Went and seen Gattis in Mobile on Friday. He looked real good in outfield made a diving catch and went back on ball well. At the plate a homer and double and one to the wall. He is the real deal. Can’t wait until he gets a chance.
While some who write about drafts and minor leaguers and prospects for a living keep insisting that Gattis is not a prospect because of his age, and won’t be a good outfielder (unlike them, I’ll admit I honestly don’t know, since I haven’t seen him play the outfield).
My name is not Crawford, it is Chuck. Samantha real name is Amber. We are being moved out of state where she can get the treatment she needs. I heard that Gattis once leaned into a pitch and it hit off his elbow… and cleared the CF fence. The umps didn’t know how to rule, so they gave him a HR and HBP.
If the Braves don’t sign Born, why not put Simmons in center if the Pastor contunies to improve. Gattis in left for the future. The Braves will be young and ready to go for the future. Go Braves
Just going to have to wait and see on Gattis. Tough to figure how he’ll do up in the majors given his age level currently. Also be nice to see him pummel for a full season across three levels. That would be a nice sign heading into next year.
22 year old David Filak in 7 starts: 35.2 IP, 25 hits allowed, 7 ER, 1.77 ERA, 17/45 BB/K ratio. Add him to the 2010/2011 draft class that could be better than I thought….
Bill M, Simmons is and will continue to be a better defensive SS than Pastornicky. Pastor got the nod because of more experience in AAA and better hitter. Now that Simmons is hitting in AAA, he would most likely beat out Pastor in a rematch next spring. Thus I suggested earlier that Pastor move to CF in that scenario.
I had mine moved back to November so it wouldn’t impact any baseball.
I got married during the playoffs… just so happened that the Braves lost to the Astros that day, and someone wrote a little sign with the score on it and put it on my groom’s cake, which was a perfect replica of Turner Field.
I proceeded to get really, really drunk. And the cake tasted awesome, despite the tampering.
Gattis isn’t in AA to catch. He’s learning a new position and catching as a back up. He’ll probably be there for a bit longer…unless Bethancourt is out for a lengthy time…

Some advantages with Prado 1st & Bourn 2nd:
If Prado gets on less likely for GIDP.
The sac bunt could actually create runners on 1st/2nd with no out.
Disadvantages:
Could reduce stolen base attemps for Bourn
Lefty/lefty if Freeman is hitting 3rd

He changes his mind soon and reups for 30 million.
Well if the plan works and Chipper sits every other game and hits a HR or gets 5 RBI the game after he sits. I’d be fine with that!!

play grounders to kill potential big innings. Batting 8th he can’t clog the bases if he gets on. Then
serves as cleanup hitter #2. I would not sign him to a long term contract. With his size and advancing
age it would be a killer contract. Go with Ross and bring along Bettancourt. A lot cheaper and a lot
better defense. Also can Durbin now.

I too am on my way out the door… Mrs Murph is picking up pizza tonight! I don’t know if I’m more excited about eating pizza or not eating Mrs Murph’s cooking.
Either way, it’s going to be a ++ night. GO BARVES!!!
