prado did a very nice job leading off one year not too long ago

…and would still be the best option on this team next year, without a Bourn or someone of his ilk.

Yeah, but he also took a pee break before the ninth inning, much to the awe of everyone in baseball.

Seriously?

Yup. He was asked about it in the post-game interview and said he just had to. So much for superstition, huh.

Some advantages with Prado 1st & Bourn 2nd:
If Prado gets on less likely for GIDP.
The sac bunt could actually create runners on 1st/2nd with no out.

Disadvantages:
Could reduce stolen base attemps for Bourn
Lefty/lefty if Freeman is hitting 3rd

Leave Chipper on the list, Crazy…
He changes his mind soon and reups for 30 million.

Well if the plan works and Chipper sits every other game and hits a HR or gets 5 RBI the game after he sits. I’d be fine with that!!

DOB, on the broadcast last night, right before commercial when Heyward was stranded on 2nd base, the camera caught, ever so briefly, Heyward yelling at the long haired ex. ND WR turned pitcher. Is there any light you can shed on this? I assume it had to do with Heyward getting plunked earlier in the game, but thought it was odd that it would come up so late in the game.

Went and seen Gattis in Mobile on Friday. He looked real good in outfield made a diving catch and went back on ball well. At the plate a homer and double and one to the wall. He is the real deal. Can’t wait until he gets a chance.

Case RBI
when 1 then R = “Run”

Thus still RBI either way.

Bill M, Simmons is and will continue to be a better defensive SS than Pastornicky. Pastor got the nod because of more experience in AAA and better hitter. Now that Simmons is hitting in AAA, he would most likely beat out Pastor in a rematch next spring. Thus I suggested earlier that Pastor move to CF in that scenario.

I hope the Braves take their time bringing up Evan slowly as he’s learning to play the corner OF spot. No need to rush him this season. Let him learn and get some seasoning and get him out from behind the plate.

Even if McCann leaves or is traded down the road, I think the Braves see Bethancourt(sp) as their “next in line” not Evan (at catcher).

BTW…why does Fredo continue to put Prado 2nd and Chipper 6th? Who has the higher OBP??? Isn’t the job to put the guys who get on base the MOST near the top of the lineup? I believe Chipper is better suited to hit 2nd at this point in his career.

Wilson can play 3 infield positions. Not sure if Simmons has played anywhere other than SS. That would be the only advantage of Wilson over Simmons if that decision is to be made. But Braves got Francisco/Prado to back up 3B and Prado at 2B so it could happen.

With McCanns terrible stats against Dempster why is he batting 4th. He kills us in that spot. Too many double
play grounders to kill potential big innings. Batting 8th he can’t clog the bases if he gets on. Then
serves as cleanup hitter #2. I would not sign him to a long term contract. With his size and advancing
age it would be a killer contract. Go with Ross and bring along Bettancourt. A lot cheaper and a lot
better defense. Also can Durbin now.
