Dale Murphy struck out, and hit the long ball well, and Hank Aaron struck out many times too. Francisco might be one of those hitters? Lots of strike outs, but manny Home Runs.
Simpson said Francisco hit a bomb in BP before the game that made the upper deck over the bullpen, and everybody in the stadium stopped to look at. The guys got some power. You can’t teach that.

Francisco is gonna slug 470 or better most likely, but he doesn’t walk, Strikeouts like Reynolds, Most likely a 320 or less OBP guy.

Francisco swings at a lot of non-strikes. In that at bat he got to a full count on 5 balls and then singled.
He will need to work even harder to lay off the balls to make sure he gets a good pitch to hit.
Good raw clay for Walker though. Juan hits the ball as hard as any Brave.

Did Tyler swing at a strike?
Cause he seems hell bent on killing innings and not clearing the pitcher.

Juan is a better hitter than Reynolds and while he will strike out, he puts it in play enough to avoid the 200 strikeouts of a Reynolds or Howard.

Mark Reynolds has a career K rate of 2.6 per AB.
Jaun Francisco, in his first 212 MLB AB’s has a K rate of 3.2.
That’s a significant difference with Francisco being so young and inexperienced.

Just like our choke last season — under the radar because of the Bosox.
Look at the Sawx, look at us. I’ll take it.
Many of you are way too caught up on where the Braves appear on highlight shows.
ESPN is an east-coast biased network. Much better for a team to get little or no recognition. In any sport.
