Phil did not seem like a bad guy, even if most of the time I disagreed with him. FIRE FREDI
Hmm…as someone that’s run marathon’s for a number of years…the Krispy Kreme challenge sounds like a good destination race! lol

Clutch hitting has gone into a ditch? I bet you wish you could take this article back.
You do understand that the blog in question was based on things that HAD ALREADY HAPPENED. Not a stat or sentence of DOB’s article wasn’t accurate at the time of its posting.
May 3rd, 201211:42 am
lowercase phil isn’t a bad guy. He’s just tired of us being tired of the angry people.
The Atlanta Media is soft… It would be the last reason ATL would be voted a bad sports town.

Just for chuckles, I actually did go back to see when the first “BALLGAME!” was uttered: 7:50PM.
Might have been just the tiniest bit premature. And no, I did not count how many other “BALLGAME!” posts were placed throughout the evening…I would have been laughing too hard to finish that chore, anyway.
Well, I’m out of here (for now). Time to go get ready to watch the game. Play nice kiddies.
You are obviously not aware of the reverse blog curse. DOB posts a blog like this and the curse takes effect 99 times out of 100. The boys go out and play hard and win and do just the opposite of what DOB has written about.
I wonder if my Jiffy Lube will honor the $15 discount out here in UT?
I just drink two cups of columbian coffee to wake up. Forget the ice baths
May 3rd, 201211:44 am
Wait… phil left? That sucks… he was funny.
Sigh. Haters gotta hate… on haters hating hate.
May 3rd, 201211:47 am
It’s never too early for Beth and her funny tweets! I love those tweets and her smile is contagious. Gimmie more please …
Man, what an epic game to be at last night! Almost left to make it home for some shut eye since we were down to Doc. Best game I can remember since when Brooksey hit the Grand Slam and we came back from an 8 run deficit.
Hugo Z Hackenbush
sniff…phil, we hardly knew ye…
May 3rd, 201211:48 am
clutch hitting, if its a skill is more about NOT reacting to the situation than it is reacting to the situation. so being a good hitter is a requirement first, obviously. staying the same hitter in a big spot is the skill, and yes, some player do it better, or more often than others.
Kidding, Beth is annoying and those tweets are corny and have to be from 11 year olds.
May 3rd, 201211:52 am
yeah time for me to leave as well…hope I make it by the 4th
Might have been just the tiniest bit premature. And no, I did not count how many other “BALLGAME!” posts were placed throughout the evening
I am going to shamefully admit that I had pretty much “ballgame”d it in my mind after they took a 6-0 lead. Halladay – no chance I thought. Couldnt believe what happened after that – still cant. All I can say is, I love sports!!
DAP, mainly just not over reacting and being overly impatient. Freeman can be a little overly aggressive in those situations. Sometimes they just have to remember that the pitcher is the one that is in trouble.
Thoughts for the front office . 1, Call the left coast, ask LOU PINNELLA if he would be interested. 2, A lot of baseball people say the guy in our bullpen EDDIE PEREZ will be a good MGR. 3, keep FREDI just send him to AAA ball, bring G-BRAVES MGR up the finish the season with the big club. That way they would not be throwing FREDI out in the cold. FIRE FREDI.

CraZy I always feel cheated when I get a box of donuts… Shouldn’t the donut holes come with the donuts?
im sorry to be the one to tell you, but “donut holes” are not made from leftover dough out of the middle of a donut. the name misleads lots of people on how both donuts and donut holes are made. im sorry.
May 3rd, 201211:54 am
Sutton addressed batter vs pitcher histories in his pregame radio comments yesterday…
Anyone ever noticed how, often times, the Braves radio guys discuss things that have been run through the blog comment mill earlier that day/week?
Which one of you is Sutton? I’m going to guess Samantha… maybe Ward. Who is it? Come clean!
May 3rd, 201211:55 am
I am going to shamefully admit
Don’t feel bad, man. I ballgamed it the Braves’ way when Heap hit the slam. Didn’t think there was any way the Phightens could get off the mat, after that.
I like 11:48 post. It provides a decent explanation of that should be acceptable for some others too.
Lou would certainly liven the games up a bit…
Get out of there with that nonsense! Imbasul!
If we can get it done today, our series record will be 6-1-1. Thats 6 Wins, 1 lose (Mets) and 1 split (Pirates).
Our opponets for the first 7 series have a combined record of 75-74.
That’s not a bad start to a season.
May 3rd, 201211:56 am
Did you have to crush the man like that? Not cool, DAP.
If they don’t come from the donut center, then what happens to that dough? Hmmmmmm? Where does it go? They don’t magically make dough that’s round and has a hole in the middle.
May 3rd, 201211:57 am
Did she really just do that.
May 3rd, 201211:58 am
No cleavage from Beth today. If I can pinpoint causation between square inches of flesh revealed and Braves victories, she’s gonna hear about it…
So, you’re only kinda right, DAP. I’d bet a lot of mom and pop donut makers still use the dough from the hole.
May 3rd, 201211:59 am
George…can we fire you and your dumb ideas??
May 3rd, 201212:00 pm
I am going to shamefully admit that I had pretty much “ballgame”d it in my mind after they took a 6-0 lead. Halladay – no chance I thought
Ha, who didn’t.
Didn’t give up all hope though, cause you never know.
If I can pinpoint causation between square inches of flesh revealed and Braves victories, she’s gonna hear about it…
Oh, just lie about it, regardless of causation. It’s for a good cause.
DAP the “donut man”
David O’Brien @ajcbraves
Fredi said Minor and Beachy wouldn’t throw scheduled bullpens today and would be available in the pen if needed. Vent, Med, Durb need rest
Hugo – Once the game starts, there will be cleavage on this blog. Not the kind you want, butt they’ll be here.
May 3rd, 201212:01 pm
Ok lineup for todays game. Outta here, I do not post during games. Lets win to this afternoon y’all.
cause you never know.
“You can sum this game up in one word: yaneverknow.”
No excuse for Delgado to not get Pete Orr out today.
It will piss me off if Delgado ends up walking Pete Orr.
May 3rd, 201212:02 pm
murph They don’t magically make dough that’s round and has a hole in the middle.
actually, yeah they do. then they put them in high security donuts cases that will knock you right out of you arent careful. watch your head, murph.
May 3rd, 201212:03 pm
DAP the “donut man”
ive never been so proud…
May 3rd, 201212:04 pm
Colin Cowturd is on 680 The Fan.
I’ll try another link.
Why am I telling you this.
heck dunkin donuts doesn’t even call them donut holes they are munchkins…but we all know what they are
Durbin needs rest? Why does he need rest? He is supposed to eat innings.
Medlen needs rest? because he worked 1 inning yesterday?
Fredi might be resting the bullpen too much. We know Delgado will last 4 innings maximum unless ofcourse he takes one for the team and pitches till the 6th by giving up 9 runs.
May 3rd, 201212:05 pm
murph I’d bet a lot of mom and pop donut makers still use the dough from the hole.
nah, its too inefficient. trust me, im the donut man.
Do you REALLY want to keep FREDI? He will ruin our pitching staff. FIRE FREDI
May 3rd, 201212:06 pm
veer – he pitched 1 1/3 tuesday then 1 last night (and venters has worked 2 in a row as well)
May 3rd, 201212:07 pm
good new is livan threw 7 pitches last night so he should be good for a few if required
They don’t magically make dough that’s round and has a hole in the middle.
I dont think they make a full circle and punch out the middle part. I thought the dough is extruded into a sausage like shape and then smaller pieces are made into a nut-shape.
May 3rd, 201212:08 pm
Yes Jimmy, there will be butt-showing. As sure as the full moon in the sky…
Call the left coast, ask LOU PINNELLA if he would be interested
I never thought of Florida as left coast…although I guess he’s on the left coast of Florida…
May 3rd, 201212:09 pm
I think it’s a very distinguished title!!
new blog is up
and by he I mean kris
Let’s Go Bravos!
I think if Delgado flat out stinks today then we should just option him to the Minors. Replace him with Livan or Medlen. Can’t have a guy continue to suck every 5th day. I think this is a make it or break it game for Delgado.
May 3rd, 201212:10 pm
I don’t think it matters with Livan… I bet he could handle pitching almost everyday.
Ok, for all you losers stuck at work (like me), here is a working radio link:
Love Joyce’s strike call
May 3rd, 201212:12 pm
It’s amazing. I’m sitting here reading the doughnut discussion and glance to the right side of the blog and what do I see? A Stainmaster carpet ad with a little girl holding a chocolate covered doughnut.
Need a DP now.
May 3rd, 201212:14 pm
DAP, actually almost all hitters stay the same hitter in a big spot. There is plenty of evidence that shows that this is the case. If there are some players who do it better or more often, there certainly isn’t a noticeable difference between them and the hitters who don’t or do it less often throughout the history of the game. Pick out any random hitter with several seasons under his belt and look at a variety of different clutch stats and they will not look drastically different from what you would expect based on the overall performance of the player. But no one bothers looking at the evidence because it would ruin the belief and the narrative that some major leaguers are drastically more clutch than others. That’s the most annoying part of all this. Not that there are people that believe certain major league players can’t handle pressure but that no one bothers to figure out if it’s actually true because they don’t want to ruin their own beliefs and their own myths about some players being able to ride in on their stallions to rescue their team from the clutches of defeat because their mental state is drastically different from other major leaguers.
May 3rd, 201212:16 pm
Settle down, Delgado. Don’t allow any more runs in this first inning.
May 3rd, 201212:17 pm
Get that one and about 2 or 3 more now, Braves.
May 3rd, 201212:25 pm
Maybe it’s just me, but Uggla’s “hugs” after a home run are just creepy and last a little too long. Why not a fist-bump or high five?
May 3rd, 201212:27 pm
Oh, crap. Delgado, quit letting them hit like that.
May 3rd, 201212:29 pm
I believe Kent Mercker thru a no-no. Anybody know for sure?
May 3rd, 201212:30 pm
shaun, but its impossible to argue with DOB’s blog (although you did) the clutch hitting wasnt happening. why? who knows? i dont think DOB trie to explain why. he didnt say they were nervous and suddenly couldnt handle the pressure. he just said they werent doing it. it was a fact. thats why i said yesterday it was over your head. it is. way over.
May 3rd, 201212:43 pm
Good job, Tyler.
May 3rd, 201212:47 pm
Get some runs now, please.
May 3rd, 201212:52 pm
Is there an echo in the empty blog chamber this afternoon ?
May 3rd, 20121:04 pm
so how many times in a row do we get shut out to make up for 15 runs last night????
October 4th, 201210:37 pm
