We don’t want a bunt every time.

Just once in a blue moon….the first AB was nice.

‘Big Jim’ is movin’ on up. Can’t wait to see if he can rake AA pitchers like those he buried in the Carolina League.

I’m also curious to see how 2B TOMMY LaSTELLA handles someone else behind him in the order. LaSTELLA typically hit third, GATTIS fourth. TOMMY is stroking the pill at a .362 clip right now with six doubles and 20 RBI.

What Pastornicky lacks in polish in the field at short, he is showing he can handle the bat.

I am not down complely on Tyler in the field, I do think he has the tools to get better and be servicable enough out there. Needs more experience and he will get better.

Can he be as good as Blauser????? Why not.

Ya, like that was his best swing in weeks. One time is not the start of a trend or adjustment. see your golden boy sucky hurtward. Two good weeks and you were slurping him up

Phil—Hey, I have coached kids and always told them the difference in how they should behave in the kids league and that the pros who argue, well that is their office, their business. Most of the arguing is generally not tolerated in kids leagues. In basketball, the kids league I was in, the kids just started to run their mouth, it was a TECH, and correctly so.

That is what sometimes goes on in the game at the higher level.

Of course you would never go off like that in a real world office but the game does not reflect the real world.

Some of the tactics used in coaching sports at the high levels are never used in the real world. That is why its a game.

DOWN ON THE FARM

ROME

ROME has a team with poor hitting and reatively weak pitching. A bad combination. They were mashed today by KANNAPOLIS 7-0

LF JAKOB DALFONSO [.381 BA] 1-4. Here’s a bat. SS NICK AHMED was pulled from the line-up after some good success because he evidently fell into some bad habits. CHASE LARRSON the only other bat with consistant positives is currently shut-down and on the DL.

RHRP JOHN CORNELY [2.79 ERA[ 2.0 IP, 2 H, zeros, 1 BB, 2 SO is decent most of the time, and was last night. Of course, the game was well in hand by the time the 8th rolled around.

GWINNETT

Postponed

LYNCHBURG

HILLCATS are behind 1-4 in the middle innings. 2B TOMMY LaSTELLA is 1-2. they’ve moved the new guy in to the power slot, TIM SMITH. He’s pulled an 0′fer so far and drawn a walk.

Pitching is bad. RHSP DiMASTER DELGADO [6.75 ERA] gets cuffed around, then knocked out in the fourth. LHRP BLAINE SIMS [6.00 ERA] on in relief can’t get an out before giving up a hit and a run.
