Snot – I dislike da Gunners but I HATE the Spanish fairies called Barcelona, disgusting city, vile people and a Nancy Boy footy team, unless all goes well they haveERO IMAGINATION, just front running cry babies at best… at least Arsene Wenger can grind it out and win with anything as can Sir Alex
April 24th, 20127:13 pm
VJ’s not that old, especially compared to nolie.
Age before high blood pressure. O.k.
nolie – wake up from yer nap!
“No. Because again, you are lumping every fan of every sport in Los Angeles with a tiny number of stupid or terrible people.”
Lakers Riot in 2009?
I dunno, you tell me!
April 24th, 20127:14 pm
Huddy pitching now…listen for free:
April 24th, 20127:15 pm
Because that only happens in LA, right?
April 24th, 20127:16 pm
@ Jnick I cant name 1 ………I named 5 SS if you bother to look up . Now will it be a straight swap for JJ not necessarily but I think ally the American League teams I mentioned would be inteested. _ J-Man
Why should they go to the trouble to trade for JJ, just let the SS pitch.
Ryan Howard is expected to resume baseball activities next week.
April 24th, 20127:17 pm
I didn’t say they should, I just asked a question
David O’Brien @ajcbraves
Scoreless first for Hudson, who is dealing to start in Gwinnett. 12 pitches, nine strikes. spose to go 6 IP, 100ish pitches in final rehab
(Think it’s safe to assume that tweet came from Carroll- unless DOB really is THAT good? )
April 24th, 20127:18 pm
Oh for the days in LA when Bulldog Hershiser got paid $2M per year for 3 years which was a LOT of money and the Dodgies were really actually great, riots, kind of like those started in Barcelona tonight cause those Catalonian girls got beaten by the mighty Londoners Chelsea FC
April 24th, 20127:19 pm
But if I had to pick one of them it would be Delgado.
“Because that only happens in LA, right?”
Oh, I meant the riot in 2000.
Lighten up. I lived in LA. Just. Long. Enough.
If the Braves came out and said, “were willing to eat 90% of Jurrjens remaining contract if you take him” I’m sure a bunch of teams would take the low risk opportunity
really? only if we took almost nothing back in return, and why would we do that is we aren’t saving salary or getting a useful prospect?
April 24th, 20127:21 pm
Look if Carlos Zambrano, John Rocker, Mike Hampton, Zach Grienke, Brandon Webb, Eric Gange can get traded, after suffering slumps, or coming off injuries then Jurrjens can be traded you just have to realize what to expect in return and find a team that is desparate for a number 4 or 5 pitcher.
April 24th, 20127:23 pm
The best trae for a SS for the Braves probaly would be JJ Hardy, but the braves would have to take on more salary because Hardy is gettin paid 8 mil a season.
April 24th, 20127:24 pm
The best trade for a SS for the Braves probaly would be JJ Hardy, but the braves would have to take on more salary because Hardy is gettin paid 8 mil a season……..I hate WINDWS 7 because it always leaves letters off when you type fast
McFann :Ô: :Ô:
Ah, that’s OK! Yeah, obviously I have no connections with that poster…
Glad to know the kid is OK! That is so scary—yeah, better to be concerned, for sure…
April 24th, 20127:25 pm
“I mean, they just couldn’t keep running Jurrjens out there once every five days the way he was pitching.”
DOB I know you saw DLowe pitch last year and yet Fredi kept running him out there every 5th day.
April 24th, 20127:26 pm
JJ Hardy is hitting .180 with a .261 OBP and a .589 OPS.
April 24th, 20127:30 pm
cubs probably go sorryano 4 jj
Baby when I think about I think about love, darling cant live without you and your love
April 24th, 20127:31 pm
Hudson is gonna be a beast when he comesback
I wasn’t suggesting that, I only mentioned that cause some people suggested that no one would want Jurrjens.
April 24th, 20127:33 pm
Yea cabravesfan I know this but you have to view them a similar situations. Now even at .180 JJ Hardy is still BETTER than Tyler Pastornicky. plus he is a better defender and has way more power. So It would be a low risk trade as well
April 24th, 20127:34 pm
Look at DogsBrekky singing one of my all-time favorite songs
“FOX Sports South @FOXSportsSouth #Braves lineup (10:10, SPSO): Bourn 8 Prado 7 Freeman 3 McCann 2 Uggla 4 Jones 5 Heyward 9 Pastornicky 6 Minor 1 #FSBraves”
Back when all those announcers were doing radio and tv, they rotated. Half a game on radio alternating between announcer and color man with your partner. Half way through the game the two man teams swapped and tv went to radio and radio went to tv. Milo Hamiltion feft he was so important that he overrode the opportunities others deserved to call Aaron’s 715. He demanded and got permission to call every ab Henry Aaron had to break the record, which didn’t take long, I think he hit Al Downing with the Dodgers in the first home series of the season. (But there was the last of the previous season that was the same way).

reverse merger: you heard it hear first:

bravesgrl – Playing Bad Company all day and night here, going thru all their records, yes VINYL now
April 24th, 20127:37 pm
no one would want JJ right now
“reverse merger: you heard it hear first:
“Braves trade JJ to Indians for D Lowe”
Now that’s a a Leveraged Buy-out if I ever saw one right there
kinda like paying $100 for a pack of ciggies in NZ
California boy Kris Medlen got Chipper a pair of size-13 Vans (black) for his 40th birthday. They were in Battleaxe’s locker.
Agree with the move to send JJ down. It was like watching Lowe struggle when we knew he would, so hope he can get things straightened out at AAA.
April 24th, 20127:38 pm
We need KING JONES.
Oh, you lucky guy, DogsBrekky – I LOVE Bad Company!
April 24th, 20127:39 pm
Can Chipper play or not?
Who cares about his stinkin birthday!!
What are VANS
JJ getting sent down was about as universal as agreement gets around here
April 24th, 20127:40 pm
Except for the fact Hardy is making, like $6.5 million more than Pastornicky this year (and is signed through 2014 at $7 million per)
April 24th, 20127:41 pm
big boxy cars that eat a lot of gas, Brecky. Surely they got them down under?
Dogsbrekky – I liked Skip and he was the voice of the Braves. But I will always give Chip Carey the benefit of the doubt because Skip just like his dad Harry was a raging alcoholic. Skip got it under control later in life, but Chip grew up with a Grandfather and father that were both severely alcoholic and Chip overcame their influence to become a good father and family man.
For that he has a lifetime pass from me.
bravesgirl – it is all good, one of the great voices in rock history, right behind Daltrey, Ian Moss, Freddi Mercury and Elvis ……. Mr Rogers that is
“don’t you know you are a superstar” Jair Jurrjens theme song herein I SAY

JJ for alex gonzalez.
April 24th, 20127:43 pm
Well said, keylargo…
I can’t stand chip as an announcer, but your points are great ones and i’m proud of chip for it.
I’ve got to try to go easier on him.
Or maybe not…

Two singles off Hudson in the 2nd but no runs. Didn’t get much help from his infielders. 37 pitches through two. Still 0-0 here in Gwinnett.
(Josh Wilson just singled in Gartell to make it 1-0 Gwinnett…)
April 24th, 20127:44 pm
JJ for Pujols who is obviously over the hill too
nolie – VANS – ok got it, what a brilliant invention that thing is then, FAT CARS, kinda like “Fat Bottomed Girls”
April 24th, 20127:45 pm
Man, I remember Vans. All the punk rock cats in HS wore them. We made fun of them and then in college started wearing them as we listened to “post punk” which was essentially alternative (i.e. REM, etc.).
They replaced Converse, Chuck Taylor, All-Stars as the go to shoe for a while. (My grand dad was in the paper for selling over 1 million pair of Chuck Taylors.)
If you have to ask what a Chuck Taylor shoe is, then you don’t belong on the blog…
Maybe Harray and Skip were Australians
April 24th, 20127:46 pm
@phil I guess you are like all the rest. You love Delgado. You cant win with a pitcher who cant find a strike to the opposing pitcher.
vans were basically cheap, canvas tennis shoes that were multiple colors or had a checkerboard on them.
Billy Jack went from saving hippies to makin’ BBQ ?
CHIPPER going to try it tonight i see, hope it goes well on his birthdayand he will be able to play tomorrow for cab.
April 24th, 20127:48 pm
Vans are still a staple, they made a comeback lately.
I’ve never owned a pair of Vans or Docs, but I’ve had at lease 1 pair of Docs in the rotation since about 1984.
Still Sean Penn’s best performance
I put Paul Rogers up there with the best of them. We’ve seen Bad Co at Chastain the last couple of years.
April 24th, 20127:49 pm
but your points are great ones and i’m proud of chip for it.
Thank you Phil. I appreciated a man who can look at the facts and let them overrule his emotions.
April 24th, 20127:50 pm
cabravesfan I wasnt talking about trading Pastornivky for Hardy. I was talking about Jurrjens for Hardy
Noli, u got me on that one….now I am back to practicing law.
Why don’t you get a job Spicoli?
You need money.
All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I’m fine.
April 24th, 20127:51 pm

April 24th, 20127:53 pm
Sure wish FRANK WREN had a little money to get a SS who could hit a little. I said over the winter we should have kept A-GON, he did hit a few HRs for us last year and his BA was better than [ the never was and the may never will be] we have now.
April 24th, 20127:54 pm
gonna be a very long night. hitting the shower so I am fresh for the first pitch. hope huddy can hang onto the shutout.
April 24th, 20127:55 pm
I hate waitin’ for left coast games. If God had meant baseball to be plated at 10pm he woulda put lights on the caps to begin with
April 24th, 20127:56 pm
My bad (although the contract situation is still kinda relevant )
April 24th, 20127:57 pm
Just think they get NFL football at 10am. That is weird.
April 24th, 20127:58 pm
I’ve actually owned Vans, Chuck Taylors, AND Docs in my life

That’s because you are probably too young & too old
Wow. Lots of folks think we could actually get something in return for JJ. Mmkay.

Wow- Philip Humber throws a perfect game on Saturday, and his wife is about to give birth to their first child. Not a bad week for the young man
You are probably right, cab. I remember Vans, sort of know about the Taylors, and think Docs are just ugly.
April 24th, 20128:09 pm
And with that, I am going to take a nap so I can maybe stay up to watch part of the game. Later.
bye for now!
April 24th, 20128:10 pm
.180 hitter with power potential and great glove for 6 mil.? why didn’t we keep AGon then?
JJ – I love the kid and for a few paltry returns I am never trading a major Nos 1 for anyone……… we need to remember what returns we got from him for diddly squat, now we may have to do some risk assessment to get a big upside in the future, but JJ has always been a performer when well… I’ll pay him $7 next year if he is healthy
April 24th, 20128:11 pm
18,000 at the game they draw better than the BRAVES on a weeknight.

Yup , you are so right, and I think it was only 4 Million or so to keep him
competition for what??

Ticket Prices * Attendance + Population/Catholics – Protestants added to Muslims + Hindus to the square root of JJ’s knee injury + the price of Jeff Spiccoli’s pizza = mc^2
