Ralph it was more that the pen wasn’t killed in the first game of the series. 4 innings of shut out ball into the 8th isna damn good job.
Let’s see if our boy Minor can tame the mammoth Dodgers tomorrow night.
Pence to see a Dr. about his shoulder.
In an 0-15 slump as well.
April 24th, 20121:10 am
Brian Jordan is full of it, idiot.
JJ did not pitch that bad according to some schools of thought?
The A Bomb
Nothing like a little Beth Tweeting to soothe the wounds.
April 24th, 20121:11 am
oh, and the Braves are on pace for 95 wins, so freak out all you want people.
JJ is worse than Lowe right now. We would be better off just getting him off the team even if we get nothing in return. We give ourselves zero chance 1 out of every 5 games. Not going to make the playoffs doing that. Hell we probably make the playoffs last year if we would have just quit pitching Lowe the final month.
April 24th, 2012
don’t see how anyone could say that with a straight face. It was bad.
April 24th, 20121:13 am
We are far below decent with our options at SS offensively.
But Lawton even you have to admit that JJ doesnt deserve to start now.
Mather won the game tonight for the Cubbies with a hit in the 9th to drive in 2 runs! WTG Joe.
Metta World Piece should be suspended for 2x the amount of games that Harden will miss. What a frickin idiot.
Ross certainly deserves another start Wednesday against another lefty, Bet money he doesn’t get it though, any takers?
April 24th, 20121:14 am
No errors but excuses needed.Outscored 2/7 outhit 7/15.
April 24th, 20121:15 am
Where’s all the positivity after only 2 losses??
There are some fickle sumbeaches on the old blog.
April 24th, 20121:16 am
No one will start Wednesday because the game will be rained out.
April 24th, 20121:17 am
No way do you platoon your 6 time All Star catcher because the backup has a good game against a lefty.
That makes no sense. Ross is good BECAUSE he only plays 1 day a week.
SS is the only weak position offensively.
If Juan can lock down the 3b platoon, like he already should have, and if Prado is in LF for 155 games, like he should be, then we are solid everywhere else.
Pastornicky may still be serviceable. It’s too early to call him a lost cause.
We need to keep Jurrjens on te team as the batting practice pitch but heshould not be no where near a Major League game
April 24th, 2012
Brian Jordan said that same thing, thats why I said he was full of it.
“Where’s all the positivity after only 2 losses??”
JJ and Diaz hit the blog like a bag of cow dung.
April 24th, 20121:18 am
I said the whole game that there is something seriously wrong with JJ tonight. He needed to throw a decent game, and he took a huge step backwards, IMO. There is something wrong. He is not finishing his pitches. I would think it has to be physical, not mechanical.
Yunel's Frosted Tips
Me and Brian Jordan didn’t watch the same game……….Affirmitive Action must save his ass..
If the other players hit like they should, it won’t matter too much what The Rev and Jack Flash give us offensively.
So long as they play good D.
I do miss my boy Sea Bass though………….
April 24th, 20121:19 am
@Lawton….Yep, Brian Jordan is under the supposition that, ‘it is all good.’
April 24th, 20121:20 am
We need to keep Jurrjens on the team as the batting practice pitcher but heshould not be no where near a Major League game……..Yea Ive been drinkin SOOOOOOOO WHATTTTTtT. it made the game more watchable and your mom hotter hahaha
“If the other players hit like they should, it won’t matter too much what The Rev and Jack Flash give us offensively.
So long as they play good D.”
Agreed. That was my point as well.
If JJ did not pitch that bad tonight I sure as hell would hate to see the game when he does pitch bad.
You got your opinion, I got mine
Like to see all the tweets that Beth won’t read on the air……..
Brian Jordan needs to remember he is a broadcaster now, not a member of the clubhouse fraternity.
April 24th, 20121:21 am
later folks, Go Braves
Sorry, but we’d have to lose about 4-5 in a row before I’d start panicking. It’s a long season, and we are going to lose a LOT of games overall. But we are also going to win a lot of games, so long as we don’t have multiple injury issues.
Fredi listen to Chipper damn it…
“It would be nice, but it’s not going to hurt my feelings [if I don't],” Jones said. “The good thing about having Juan [Francisco] is he’s provided us some power and some offense. It’s not a necessity that I be in there. So I can take my time whenever I am not feeling good.”
Notice how he did not say bring Prado in to start Diaz. FFS.
Fredi is full of more sh&t than Brian Jordan in the post game comments……
My bad Lawton just read yur comment wrong but yea his knee has been messed up for a while andhe hasnt recovered. Since te Allstar break 5.88 ERA and that 9.37 ERA this year. He is getting destroyed like i am rightnow thanks to this grey goose
April 24th, 20121:22 am
“Sorry, but we’d have to lose about 4-5 in a row before I’d start panicking. ”
I said nothing about panic?
Other than JJ looks like he’s come to the crossroads.
Being full of sh** to the media is part of Fredi’s job.
April 24th, 20121:23 am
Fredi wants no part of confrontation/tough decisions. I bet he raises his hand to speak during team meetings.
I’m gonna tweet Beth and ask her if they would kill her if they showed a negative post lol
@Yunels frosted tips…….there is nothing affirmative about that post-game show that a 1st grader wouldn’t believe—Fredi, by the way adds to the flavor of this elementary school choir performance.
Look at where trashing your players got Bobby V. lol
April 24th, 20121:24 am
TV is family how. Why would they show negative posts on TV?
Man Lawton i wanna apologize for taking your post earler out of context your cool dude and not riding Jurrjens pole.
April 24th, 20121:25 am
What do you have against McCann? Why would you want to sit him with the way he plays??? Dude is a stud with the bat!
Hey, I like Ross, but go back and look at his numbers for his career. Rossy would tell you that when Mac is healthy, he needs to play every game (except for his weekly rest day).
Nothing against Ross, cause he is a top notch back up.
April 24th, 20121:26 am
“They do have a decision to make about JJ down the road”
Wow, even Hometown Jerome Jerinovich can say something about it, but noooooooo not the manager of the team.
Blechhhh! Since Skip’s passing (except for Joe) these FOX telecasts are nothing but PR. Brutal.
I really wish Fredi would just leave Prado in left and just start Juan at 3rd when chipper is out. Seems to work best when we do that.
April 24th, 20121:27 am
Look at the headline in the LA Times:
Juan Uribe’s four hits lead Dodgers to 7-2 victory over Braves
The struggling infielder drives in three runs and scores twice while raising his average from .211 to .286.
Once again, Jurrjens said after game his knee’s fine, health’s fine. Said he doesn’t know why he’s in “funk” but will keep working.
Quotes to come from him, Ross, Fredi on Jurrjens’ status, etc.
Jurrjens needs to be sent down or put on the DL we dont have room to give 1 game every 5 days to te opposition
“Your a cool dude and not riding Jurrjens pole”
Post of the year.
April 24th, 20121:29 am
I never paid any attention to BC’s post game quotes. He didn’t throw his players under the bus. I don’t have an issue with Fredi doing the same.
Now the announcers should have some kahuna’s to tell it like it is, in this case about the question of giving Jurrjens additional starts from this point forward.
Look at Jerome showing some gall!
“Send him out to Gwinnett, he’ll get there”
Yeah, he’ll get there Jerome. Then he’ll be getting somewhere else after a trade.
There is something wrong. He is not finishing his pitches. I would think it has to be physical, not mechanical….Lawton
afraid to use that leg, I think he admitted as much once
Metta World Peace is so full of poo.
It was an accident? Unfortunate? Too emotional?
Extra suspension for adding lying to your actions.
April 24th, 20121:30 am
Gonzalez should grow some huevos and make the decision. Maybe a mandated skipped start will light a fire under this guy. Hell, he has no problem making a million lineups.
April 24th, 20121:31 am
I love B/Mac but his defense is pretty bad, Ross hits lefties real good and great defense, deserves more than once a week.
Huddy comes back.
JJ to the Pen.
I’ve spoken! lol
April 24th, 20121:32 am
“I love B/Mac but his defense is pretty bad, Ross hits lefties real good and great defense, deserves more than once a week.”
Good god man, put the vodka away.
April 24th, 20121:33 am
I wish there was some video of Jurrjens before the All Star game last year and now.
With the Dodger announcer saying he thought he looked different, why are we not hearing that from the Braves org? Or is he just mistaken, and Jurrjens is extending just like he was last year.
The guys said it looked like he was standing up straight after his release. I wasn’t watching, so I really don’t know.
What gives o great one?
April 24th, 20121:35 am
JJ is saying he feels fine because he doesn’t want to go on the DL.
April 24th, 20121:36 am
Sorry, but after that statement (about Mac’s bad defense), I’m afraid I will disregard your posts from now until, oh, maybe forever……………..
I wonder why we aren’t hearing this from the Braves. I’m kinda getting tired of the BS quotes about not having any issues. Sounds like he needs a confidence boosting trip to Gwinnett.
April 24th, 20121:37 am
April 24th, 2012
Because they want to trade him and they can’t do that until they can show that he can pitch and is healthy.
April 24th, 20121:38 am
April 24th, 2012
Sorry, but after that statement (about Mac’s bad defense), I’m afraid I will disregard your posts from now until, oh, maybe forever
I hope so
DL is where JJ belongs — if only to stick it to Boras.
Coach (2012 Fredi's beisbol fandango)
Geesh, what a dismal effort from JJ. The guy doesn’t even look like the same pitcher who dominated early on last season. Jurrjens stuff is straight, up in in the zone and way to hittable. Then combined with all those bloop hits the Dodgers were dropping over our infield didn’t allow JJ any luck at all.
David Ross was just about the only bright spot although Freeman looks like he’s swinging at beach balls. Fredi is locked in at the moment. Uggla once again reminded me of why he belongs in LF, dude can swing the stick but he ate a couple of ground balls tonight.
That said, the use of Livan Hernandez as our long man is looking like a smart move on the part of Frank Wren. The Cuban is eating some much needed innings, and the key moment in this ball game was when Jason Heyward struck out with the bases loaded in the first inning. Letting Capuano off the hook.
Better luck tomorrow, maybe Chipper can actually give it a go too!
April 24th, 20121:40 am
if you attend a braves game…and watch brian mac–he looks great back there.
April 24th, 20121:41 am
Sounded like we had Capuano on the ropes most of the night. Too bad we couldn’t of put him away.
April 24th, 20121:42 am
Does Boras get this level of involved? Say you are fine when you are not because it’s contract year?
JJ does not seem like Oliver Perez, but he’s about to walk that line…
Amen! Which takes nothing away from the great D we get from our backup too! We indeed are a fortunate club to have two excellent receivers four shore.
April 24th, 20121:43 am
Much different than the game last season Wayne — He was ripe for the taking but no big hits. And JJ had 1 shutdown inning that caused heart palpitations.
Fredi needs to grow some eggs???
April 24th, 20121:44 am
My guess is that the longer we discuss it, the less likely we are to figger out what is JJ’s issue tonight.
So I am calling it a day. We’ll get ‘em tomorrow.
April 24th, 20121:45 am
Boras is the dirtiest player in the game. He starts with high school kids through 3rd parties and micromanages everything.
Huevos nolie. Huevos.
April 24th, 20121:46 am
not a contract year for JJ
huevos are eggs count
April 24th, 20121:47 am
Braves just optioned Jurrjens to Gwinnett.
Corresponding move to come tomorrow.
Reminds me of a nephew when he was about 3 when my dad asked him if he liked chicken eggs? He said no, that eggs were grown at the grocery store………..
I know that but still sticking it to Boras is always a good thing. Especially since we’re not going to re-sign Bourn.
April 24th, 20121:48 am
GREAT!!!!! he needs to work on it where it does not hurt the team. smarter move than I thought they might make
Move not announced until after we left clubhouse, and players are gone now.
April 24th, 20121:49 am
DOB–Thanks for the JJ update. Missed the game tonight–have a friend from Mumbai visiting and so was not following. Very interested to see that this was the response to the game.
@Nolie…earlier you said you hated eggs…albeit in omlett form; but you want a phantom limb for Fredi?
That’ll shut my son up in San Diego who was texting me all game long.
Holy moly! Would ya look at that? Wonder if they will bring up Teheran or rush back Huddy?
I guess we’ll have to go to bed wondering…………….
Good news though, as I really hope the kid gets his A game back, so we can trade him and get something for him. Or maybe keep him and go to the World Serious with him.
April 24th, 20121:50 am
cojones, juevos — same thing…..west coast dialect.
April 24th, 20121:51 am
no I love omelets, I just think that Waffle House ones aren’t very good, and the current egg comment is in regard to count wanting Fredi to grow some huevos
April 24th, 20121:52 am
You guys talking about omelets are getting me hungry.
No Waffle Houses out here. We have Denny’s, Cocos, IHOP, Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles….
No Waffle House.
must be, cause I’ve been speaking Spanish a long time and never remember someone using it that way
April 24th, 20121:53 am
Actually it’s huevos….not juevos. Oops. I think.
April 24th, 20121:54 am
in re the nut job who calls himself waffle house on here
Closer to Mexico over here…..huevos is a slang term for….. cojones I’ve heard as well.
Well whatever it is he’s grown some. So has Frank.
April 24th, 20121:55 am
Wow on JJ to Gwinnett.
Glad he did not take the Oliver Perez route.
Now I sincerely wish him all the best on getting it right.
April 24th, 20121:56 am
Oh yeah, that guy (or gal?)…
The move says volumes: Braves think the Nationals aren’t going anywhere. And they’re not with that pitching…
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
