Wouldn’t you think that Fredi G would only put 1 or 2 of the “backups” in at a time? Diaz, Wilson and Ross. Yeah I know Capuano is a lefty, but can McCann really be that much worse than Ross against him? Or how about Juan Fransico at 3B and Prado in LF? 3 of the backups in one game. Thats a head scratcher.

Wonder if Francisco has shown enough to possibly be a 3b option for the Braves when Chipper can’t go and we can leave Diaz on the bench, where he belongs until we need a RH pinch hitter.

That being said, this team has looked really good since the 0-4 start. Selfless play. Productive outs. And the Beachy/Minor combo looking like legit major league staples in our rotation for the forseeable future.
Heyward appears back. Freeman is for real.
Diaz still sucks. Pastornicky’s time is limited until Simmons shows he can remotely hit.
Uggla still hacks too much.
Bourn is what the top of this order needs. Mac is Mac.
Just can’t afford to give every 5th game away by letting Jurrjens toe the rubber. Pretty much my only complaint right now.
Delgado made a rookie mistake yesterday. He got lazy. Then walked the pitcher. Then “gave in” and grooved a fastball. Other than that 5 batter sequence he looked really good.
I wish JJ would “only” have 4 or 5 batter sequences that sucked right now. Hell, I’d settle for 4 or 5 batter sequences of succes.
Not saying JJ “deserves” to be sent to the Minors. But when Huddy comes back Delgado has earned the right to stay.

Cox was the one who ran Yunel out of town, but Wren was the one who accepted Alex Gonzalez in return for him. Regardless of whom the blame falls on, that’s a trade that will haunt the Braves for a long time.
It’s frustrating to watch Pastor be rushed to the bigs before he’s ready when we had a stud like Yunel.

We just need to keep SS warm until next year.
Simmons is the future of SS. We need a kick ass glove and mediocre stick at SS.
The mediocre stick keeps him affordable, the glove will win games and solidify the infield.
I think Pastornicky can probably hit… his glove is meh.

Cox is trying to win in his last years… what do you do when he’s saying “I’ve had it with the pouty Cuban.” It would have been a STRONG move to say, nah, you’re keeping him.
Ultimately, it was Cox who forced that deal.

Just a question, but do you think Jurrjens will improve or do you think he will continue to struggle? I know he’s had a leg injury hindering his pitching performance, but he’s always seem to be somewhat over hyped.
