JJ is another Lowe, if he continues to pitch the way he has we may have to pay his salary to get rid of him, however I think he will start to pitch better but his knee won’t hold up.

As to those who say Durbin needs to go, well he was in the race for late inning relief with the Nationals, so he did look good in Spring Training.

Buster, You are right it is about a pennant. But finances and future is a GMs job to forecast. Like it or not as a fan, and by the way I don’t, it is a factor in determining call ups and when they are called up. Part of life.

I don’t care what Ron Artest changed his name to. It is a silly name and doesn’t even really serve any wholistic purpose. World B. Free’s decision to modify his first name (the middle initial and last name of Free was his given family name) actually was a positive political statement. The reasons for Artest to do this is a lot fuzzier! Also, Free never attacked fans in the stands like Artest did. So, there are two reasons to respect Free that I cannot apply to Artest.
BTW: great win today for the Braves. 5-4 is a whole lot better than I thought was possible after going 0-4! The lineup was the big question mark and so far it is looking like the lineup can score runs after all.

If the rumors are true then I hope we can bring Frenchy home you know what your getting a guy that hits 256 to 270 hits 20-25 hrs and 70 rbis a year. On the downside he does strike out to much and is not patient at the plate. Frenchy would solidify LF for the next several years good glove big arm better than average speed, in a nutshell he was Heyward before Heyward so you would not want to bat them back to back,they are both young and exciting and would secure the corner OF positions for years to come.

Frank Wren is fortunate that two players are doing well and they need to be traded asap: actually three need to be traded asap:
Tommy Hanson needs to be traded before injury returns and playing time misses
Craig Heyward needs to be traded, best interest for both ATL and Heyward
Diaz needs to be traded, not good
The needs:
3 Quality outfields: Constanza is at AAA currently and should be starting for big league team
SS is badly needed ( not one in the whole system )
3rd baseman needed ( AAA hope is not MLB Level, none in system even close )
Pitching: anything will help a scarce situation
The Braves have become weaker each of the past 5 years, Frank Wren should be removed
Fredi Gonzales is not a MLB level manager, ATL did Marlins a favor

Here’s the way it will probably be with Durbin – sore arm (whether really is or not) and go on DL. Then he’s told – take some time off, then later do some bullpen sessions and see if you can figure out what is wrong. Then we will send you on minor league rehab – and you need to show us you have things figured out. Then a recall to Braves for one last opportunity.
