Always a Braves fan, but I suspect those obsessed with them (read: those who post here 40 times per day) are looking at a frustrating summer. Next year, too, if Fredi is retained.
Last year, I was one of those that wanted Venters as the closer instead of Kimbrel. Kimbrel proved me wrong last year and tonight he showed some extra gonads with those 2 strikeouts at the end. Nasty slider.
So do Roger and Mac get Kimbrel in the clubhouse and instead of giving him high fives, eat his butt out and tell him to use his head and stop making things so interesting?
UGA 75 – unfortunately I think it only works on braves players…and you can feel free to give me the money for a holliday jersey and I’ll even get it…but it will hang in the closet…downstairs…in the garage
Okay, ladies and gents, with the W secured, I am headed to bed. Getting in at 1 a.m. and not to bed for another 30 minutes, then gettingi woken at 6, having to get back to sleep, and then the phone ringing at 9 a.m., leaves me a very tired girl. Good night, y’all, and a good night it is
Always a Braves fan, but I suspect those obsessed with them (read: those who post here 40 times per day) are looking at a frustrating summer. Next year, too, if Fredi is retained.
LHSP YOHAN FLANDE [0.00 ERA] 5.0 Ip, 3 H, zeros, 2 BB, 4 SO. Nice start for the reliefer. Maybe this guy is versatile enough to be the third lefty in the pen AND go long-relief on occasion.
DUSTY HUGHES [1.17 ERA - 2.0 IP - 1 BB - 1 SO] and CORY GEARRIN [0.00 ERA - 2.0 IP -3 SO] combine for a four inning no-hit near perfect ending [1 BB] to the game with a combined 4 SO.
Kimbrel made it nice and interesting, but I am glad the Braves held on to win the game. Good to see the record even at 4-4 and take home a series victory.
The most important thing is Minor pitched a hell of a ball game, and had Maddux tip stuff, or Glavine stuff, so well done Minor. Minor, and Delgado, good solid starts. Excellent……
In the Box Score, why is Minor charged with an unearned run? The last batter he faced was Lucroy, who was thrown out at the plate. The runner who scored, (Gamel) was the first batter Venters faced. I realize the run is unearned, but…..am I missing something?
I hope/pray…he lives in a house off campus, but I think a few of his roommates are from the midwest…house in over 100 years old, not sure if it has a basement…
Tornados are part of life in the Midwest.
Which is exactly why I could never…EVER—and I repeat that—NEVER EVER live there. Ever.…
But if they come during the day, then more folks would be awake and could prepare better…Not to mention at night it’s too dark to tell what the clouds are doing…
Love the fair weather fans such as “Nick” stated twice the Braves lost while Brewers had runners in scoring position.
