Ah there’s the replay.. nice!
Big Mac blazes home..
The A Bomb
April 14th, 20127:39 pm
Total rollover swing, no purpose, over the hill. He sucks.
Woohoo! Looks like we are on top. Got the look-in on Gameday.
Nice job, New Guy!!!
This has been fun.
The bats are on fire. Good times.
April 14th, 20127:40 pm
Nice job by both Heyward and Francisco. Keep it going, offense!
McFann :Ô: :Ô:
Oh, I love it!
BMac is so cute running the bases like that, BTW!…
You made me love you. Didn’t Juana do it.
Good to see Francisco play well. Don’t like that they gave him Andruw’s number though.
April 14th, 20127:41 pm
some good aggressive baserunning by McCann there, McFann. A stolen base last night, then first-to-third tonight to create havoc?
I thought we could talk anything but religion or politics…I mean, it says so right there on the top right side of the blog
I think mc cann is adorable
Loosing Managar = Loosing Record
Jusat u wait. The pitching will blow it like they alwasy do.
Live look-in on MLB gamecast just in time to see the 2 runs score…that was pretty cool.
April 14th, 20127:42 pm
Yeah, he kinda is
Amazingly enough, the Braves have scored 70% more runs than the Phillies thus far…
Loosing manager…..you might want to invest in spell check lol
April 14th, 20127:43 pm
McCann is ON FIRE!
Hey “Looser”, I’m sure you said that in the 8th inning last night, too. GTFA already.
Heck yeah! He likes to keep the defense on its toes…
Oh, there’s no “kinda” about it…
April 14th, 20127:44 pm
I think you might be right
Scoring two runs was important in the second inning, but Minor’s ability to keep the Brewers off the board in the third inning will be integral to his success in the game.
So what’s you all’s favorite beer?
I’m looking forward to Green Flash coming to town.
April 14th, 20127:45 pm
Does anyone know any online radio website where I can listen braves games out-of-state?
#Nats rotation through 9 starts in 2012: 56.2 IP, 33 H, 10 ER, 13 BB, 55 K, 1.58 ERA
April 14th, 20127:46 pm
what kind of name is fetus breath…..
Corona on a hot day
Of course I am…
April 14th, 20127:47 pm
What kind of name is Katherine? Time to get back in the kitchen woman!
CrisfromSac….I don’t drink kool aid. I was just wondering if you liked any players because you never say anything positive about the team. When things ate going good, you disappear. But when it’s bad, there you are again. You just seem like a guy who isn’t happy unless he’s miserable. That must be fun. And your Heyward assessment is spot on buddy…the guy hadn’t contributed at all this year. Great call.
April 14th, 20127:48 pm
Magic Hat #9 is my fav beer
Why would ANYONE be surprised by the Nationals?
Talent is emerging like everyone thought it would.
Vet manager, solid GM in Rizzo — they can win the NL East.
What’s a kitchen?
April 14th, 20127:49 pm
ohhhh now I know who you are fetus breath……lol
Magic Hat? Really? What does your husband drink?
April 14th, 20127:50 pm
Kitchen is where my homemade pizza is waiting to be cut
I’m glad to see Brian finally setting his right foot properly before he turns on a pitch. I’ve emailed him several times pointing out this flaw in his swing. It looks like he finally made the adjustment. When I was playing, we’d lay a bat down next to the hitter’s feet to make sure they were set properly during BP.
Would have like to seen Minor be able to put away Marcum after two quick strikes without having to throw a total of 7 pitches, but I will take the out…
April 14th, 20127:51 pm
Your funny, you are a funny guy…
April 14th, 20127:52 pm
minor’s rolling now. hey, i remember games like this!
There you go, Mikey!
One week is not a season. Lets not forget the last year and a half. Ill take that sample size. You can take a ground ball up the midde and a couple jam shots.
That was a good quick and easy inning useful for maintaining the Braves momentum.
Good shutdown inning. Well done!
Ah! The place where VJ makes me tasty, tasty food! Also, where the alcohol is
I’ve also noticed that JHey has his hands too high. When he drops his hands his head moves, which has him pulling off the ball through the hitting zone. If he’d level out his hands to start with, when he strides forward his head would be still and he wouldn’t pull off the pitch. Then, as he flies through the hitting zone, the rotation of his hips would precede his hands thus generating more power while staying on the pitch. Someone like Don Baylor would notice this, but the Braves don’t seem to be paying attention. When I was pitching, I’d always dial back the curveball a little whenever I noticed this flaw. I’d get the hitter to pull off the ball and hit a weak popup.
I dont like beer….its gross…
April 14th, 20127:53 pm
Sounds like someone is blowing a whistle during the at bats.. heard it yesterday too on tv.
April 14th, 20127:54 pm
One final note on last night’s game. I’d like to have a side session with Jair so that I could show him how his hips are flying open before he plants his left foot. That’s putting stress on his shoulder and taking mph’s off his fastball because his rotation through the arm slot is not fluid. I see a strained hip flexor or a pulled oblique in his future. Back when I was pitching, even catchers would pick up on this tendency. It’s too bad the Braves don’t have anyone who can coach Jurrjens through this mechanical breakdown.
I am glad that Brian heeded your advice. It seems to be helping me lately.
Larry — in time. Guy looks a LOT better than last season at any time.
He working and it shows. .270 is very possible.
Every other team in the NL east has a better right fielder. Worth, Stanton, Pence, hell even Duda is better. Heyward is not the man!
April 14th, 20127:55 pm
BravesFaninKY .. you could try seeing if any of these streams work..
I bet your cooking is gross.
April 14th, 20127:56 pm
Chip got excited about Bourn’s “high fly ball to right” that was caught well in front of the track.
cant you just go to 680 the fan . com or just get the 680thefan app for your iphone? they play the games on that station
Martin hurt himself.
April 14th, 20127:57 pm
i bet your fetus breath is gross
Good Lord at the haters on this blog. Heyward sucks? Hello, have you been watching last night and tonight?
April 14th, 20127:58 pm
katherine – no, they can’t stream games…
If anyone is looking for a free video stream of the game it’s online here, you don’t have to download anything, just takes 25 secs to load.
ok, I’ll say what most are thinking,
ChrisfromSacramento,Ca is a miserable fan..
no jim but you could listen to the game
April 14th, 20128:00 pm
katherine – MLB rules prohibit streaming the games…
yes venice jim I can hear…I have the app on my phone and the game isnt on it…sports center is
April 14th, 20128:01 pm
I don’t know where Fredi Freeman’s mind is lately but it sure as hell isn’t on baseball, needs to wake up.
Why is it that one of the fastest men in baseball, who is also a leadoff hitter, rarely attempts to bunt. Brett Butler made a career off of bunt singles.
April 14th, 20128:03 pm
Jason looks good in the retro uni- has that look about him…
Im getting so damn frustrated with Freeman right now. Come on kid!!
DOB jinxed the kid with his “Freeman´s gonna have a huge year folks, i can feel it!” comment the other day…
i liked the red uniforms on sunday though
Minor has one more inning then he implodes.
April 14th, 20128:04 pm
I am so thankful that Larry managed to straighten everything out, Braves look much better lately…
Nice inning, Mike
He’s been working on his taxes…
Minor is looking good and efficient. I hope he can keep this up for a few more innings.
April 14th, 20128:07 pm
I said last night,on the blog Mike Minor is going 7 innings tonight. He may go 8 if he keeps up this pace.
April 14th, 20128:09 pm
Freeman headed for a Heyward-like sophomore year. we is all domed….
Not a fan of the red jerseys even a little
Minor throwing that changeup remind anybody else of Glavine? Maybe because he’s a left hander in a Braves uniform is why, but it’s a good one.
Marcum must be deceptive because the Braves have had some awful swings against him.
April 14th, 20128:10 pm
Love the red jerseys
lol doom and gloom…i dont think freddie is going to have a sophomore slump
Eh, we’re all domed anyways…I’ll just add “Freeman slump” to my list here…
April 14th, 20128:11 pm
Hate them :/
I think Freeman will be fine. It’s the third series of the year, I mean give him time to adjust right back to pitchers before one claims he’ll be going through a sophomore slump.
April 14th, 20128:12 pm
i love them too….
April 14th, 20128:13 pm
They would be infinitely better if they were slightly less…red. They are just way too bright for my liking
I’d love to see Minor go 7 or 8 innings tonight, but let’s just take it one inning at a time, he has a tendency to hit a wall and implode. He’s not a rookie anymore though so maybe he’s figured out how to avoid it.
Marcum is a good pitcher. Brewers gave up a good young player for him for a reason. He’s no sloppy junk pitcher. He doesn’t throw hard, but knows how to use what he has very well. It’s alright to look fooled against a good one and we’re up by two.
April 14th, 20128:14 pm
No one’s doomed or whatever BS because of Freeman’s struggles. What really frustrates some, or me at least, is that he was doing tremendously good in ST. Granted, IT WAS ST. But damn… such a sudden slump, precisely at the start of the season.
April 14th, 20128:15 pm
Cris…you’re so full of it. Heyward had a very good rookie year, and a bad second year. That’s not a year and a half of bad play. Werth had an awful season last year, but you don’t mention that when saying he’s better than Heyward. You don’t like the guy, fine, but don’t make things up.
April 14th, 20128:16 pm
id rather freddie get his slump out of the way at the beginning of the season
My exact thoughts. If they had a darker tone, like the Red Sox’s red, or the Reds’ red (lol).
Freeman was tearing it up until Walker started trying to get him to pull the ball, Fredi doesn’t like to pull, last year when he was in a slump he said he was pull happy and had to start hitting up the middle. If you have noticed since that interview with Walker every ball Fredi has hit has been to the left.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
