If Frank Wren paid $1 million to Chad Durbin, Wren is further displaying his incompetence. I will bet anything that the kid they sent down would be doing a much better job than Durbin.
Brandon Beachy On Brian McCann helping him through jams: “He’s always great at getting me through those situations. I come out there and for whatever reason there’s just a batter where it just doesn’t feel right, I’m off, and he’ll come say something or sometimes a little hand gesture or something will help me to get back to where I need to be. It’s big to have him back there.”

I understand why the braves signed both durbin and Livan when they could have at least seen if mike gonzalez might have come back… He’s still unsigned. He
pitched in a horrendous ball park these past two years.
nolie, I dunno if it’s a function of velocity, location, or tipping off his pitches. If it’s the latter two, then he may be better served by logging some Gwinnett time rather than getting body slammed on every start.
If this continues, one has to believe that he is in crisis mode, as he usually starts a season well.

This team reminds me of that squad in ‘10. We’re hitting pretty well, but really working the other pitcher over. That doesn’t always lead to a win, but it’s a very good strategy to have going into a game. It’s called having a plan and Walker seems to be helping some of them especially Heyward.
