Uggla and Freeman are K machines lately.
Good start to the 6th, Beach. Come on, bud!
I tried to be Murph-like, insightful; intelligent; confident; etc…….re: Uggs….I am not that insightful obviously.
April 15th, 20123:18 pm
Beachy has looked great today. I would love to see him get through the 7th then get lifted
Chipper is still 39….
Only reason he can do a thing.
April 15th, 20123:19 pm
Beachy looking good
why phil…is 40 some kind of magic number?
2 down. Let’s make this a quick inning
would be nice to give Venters and Kimbrel the day off. If Beachy gets through 7, maybe Meds can finish it off.
He’s pitching well too…
The A Bomb
April 15th, 20123:20 pm
Now why can’t Beachy START games like this?
Beachy through 6. I think MM started something last night.
Sweet breezes coming from the Beachy
Do my eyes deceive me? Or did another Braves starter just make it through the sixth?
How many MORE blown calls will we have endure this season?!
By K’ing, uggla, FF and others are running up pitch counts….all part of the plan.
Beachy looks muscled up….roids?
Great outing for Beachy
April 15th, 20123:21 pm
Minor went into the 8th last night…
Beacahy has retired 11 in a row since Braun’s single in the third. at 88 pitches after six
Bourn hasn’t lost the ability, Umpires are lazy and just assume things. Just because it was a great throw to 2nd base and it beat the runner doesn’t mean its a automatic out, The fielder still has to tag the runner…. MLB really needs to address this issue. Same thing happened to me in softball last night at a play at the plate. He tagged me on my head when I slide but I clearly touched the plate 1st..
But life does begin at 40.
Amazed that Beachy is through 6 innings. Feeling good about Hanson, Minor, and Beachy right now. Can’t wait to see how Huddy looks when he gets back.
or beachy could be working out more phil…bulking doesnt automatically mean steroids
Sorry! Missed the “another” in there!
April 15th, 20123:22 pm
I know phil..I was being sarcastic too
Way to go Marine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
April 15th, 20123:23 pm
not a good at bat come on
another good AB for Freddy.
2 great strokes — without result. Still, a good sign.
Beach is got one more in him!
Freeman should be in Gwinnett.
Of course you did, vabravesfan…
So far, this is a well played baseball game by the Braves.
Really impressed by Beachy’s composure. Could have ‘lost’ it after that second, but got right back in there and has continually challenged the batters. Good performance.
And by Nick’s estimation (Uggla is horrible), we’ll see at least one more run: Uggla HR.
God Bless that Marine.
April 15th, 20123:24 pm
FF’s gonna find some holes soon.
BTW, it’s weird how many Braves have alliterative first and last names. Brandon Beachy, Freddie Freeman, Jair Jurrjens, Mike Minor…
that marine is an inspiration
that is a true hero
April 15th, 20123:25 pm
Pastor up, 3 outs
braun keeps catching everything with his steroid arms
I don’t mind the green light there on 3-0 at all…good contact.
Officially can’t stand Ryan Braun
April can’t end fast enough for Freddie.
still think of bobby boucher when i hear that name
Michael Boucher from Bogart. Right up the road from me.
April 15th, 20123:26 pm
Time for Rev to get it going here.
i think the pastornicky experiment should end sooner rather than later if he doesnt come around
Chip compares that Jackie Robinson to that Marine?
What a warped sense of reality.
Kidding that time, katherine….
Good to have you here too to critique my every barb.
April 15th, 20123:27 pm
I told u guys, Pastor grounds out to SS EVERY AB
Pastornicky is fine. He’s doing his job.
one more inning out of Beachy then a ph????
ok pastornicky is officially as bad as batting as gonzo was until the last month last season
Simmons will be our SS by June.
April 15th, 20123:28 pm
There’s a name for three strikeouts, what is the name for three groundouts to short?
Pastornicky is in a funk since his homer in Houston.
no problem phil
J-Hey made solid contact on the 3-0 though, right?
April 15th, 20123:29 pm
why do we have to wait until june for simmons? he was better in spring training
katherine, that shortstop’s name is Simmons and he is currently hitting .400 in the minors. And I agree, can’t wait to see him playing up here. I don’t even care if he hits because he is worth the price of admission just to see him play defense.
yes, Jason. Heyward’s liner to left was a bullet.
McFann :Ô: :Ô:
April 15th, 20123:30 pm
Yeah. Seeing guys like that Marine reminds me why it’s so annoying when Joe whines about players being “fatigued” in July…
I know the guys get tired and everything, but good lord…
Wonder if Kevin Rathbun is still there slicing the meat. He was on Friday.
Man that steak sandwich looks good
April 15th, 20123:31 pm
it is absolutely beautiful today…nice breeze…love it
cab, it is a really good sandwich. I had one on Friday. Nicely seasoned beef cooked to just beyond medium. Served with a side of chips and a container of horseradish sauce to put on it. Yummy!
April 15th, 20123:32 pm
even Gamel thought that was a strike
come on..he should have been struck out twice
Another screw by the ump.
Umm, when even the hitter thinks its a strike, chances are, IT’S A STRIKE
Another missed call on that pitch. Gameday shows it as a strike.
Time to pull Beachy.
April 15th, 20123:33 pm
It is so hard to get a feel for how close the pitches are on Gamecast. Every pitch except the 1st and the last were strikes according to Gamecast.
All 3 of those balls called inside are clearly strikes on gameday… not even borderline.
so much for home field advantage…twice the umps have screwed the braves so far
Here comes the trouble for Beachy, little good can come from a lead off walk for him.
Can FG manage not to use the big three today unless it gets tight?
That was barely low according to gameday
Terrible calls, clearly over the inside of the plate, it wasn’t even close.
April 15th, 20123:34 pm
I don’t like to harp on the umps too much, but baseball does need to do something in regards to the strike zone. It is clearly defined. It needs to be called consistently as defined in the rule book, IMO.
April 15th, 20123:35 pm
Not sure what was wrong with that pitch….. Should shorten the leash on BB here
April 15th, 2012
yeah, that fly to CF was painful…
There’s a name for three strikeouts, what is the name for three groundouts to short? @bravesgrl4life
Let’s go with “worthless”.
That is one reason I miss Bobby Cox. Record ejections but loved the way he worked the umps missing calls, taking up for his pitchers..FG…never.
April 15th, 20123:36 pm
Also, I swear Bobby’s constant chirping used to get the pitchers a strike or two later in the game. Fredi just sits there…
Beachy is the MAN
kevkat, completely agree!
Give a hand to Beachy. Excellent day today.
Great job, BB, Rev, FF!!!
April 15th, 20123:37 pm
i dont know about the rest of you…but I really dont like freddy gonzales as the manager….he has no fire….no presence
Ruined TM’s day…
Ask and you shall receive. I said on my facebook thread, get a DP and it’s all good.
That double play helped a great deal. Fine outing from Beachy to go along with Minor’s superb outing on Saturday. Now the Bullpen needs to record 6 outs with at least a 4 run lead.
Nice, nice, very nice.
Beachy really settled down. Still has a long way to go but if that’s the type of performances we get can get from No. 4 and No. 5 5-7 times this season we’ll be in it for the distance.
Need Huddy back.
my hunch is Durbin for the 8th and Meds to follow. We’ll see what happens.
AWESOME, job BB!
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
