will you settle for a homer instead Jason?
Break out the tents!
Looks like the Braves finally found all the pods and re-replaced the pod-people with the real Braves. This is what should have happened last year.
Yes that was I nice swing by 22!
April 15th, 20122:53 pm
Jeyyyyyyyyy Heyyyyyyyyyyyy….way oughtta here!
GTI in Brooklyn
That bomb was at car window depth, I believe.
Baseball is unfair quite often. That ball by FF was scorched….
I dedicate that one to Sacramento.
That was a BOMB.
1/2 right, JasonInFla
Pastornicky, please next time hit it somewhere other than to short. Okay?
McFann :Ô: :Ô:
cabravesfan So maybe he can be like our rabbit’ foot doom and gloomer- get him to say something negative and wrong to help us win…
Hey, Nick…how do you feel about……BMac?……
katherine McFann so you think murphy is a gilf lol
Heyward homers on a somewhat inside pitch….nice.
Of course he only did it to catch chipper for the hr lead….
Glad to see the man playing well….it’s a relief not to have to bash him.
Chris, I think someone just stole your blog name…
April 15th, 20122:54 pm
Good steroid enhanced catch by Braun to rob the pitcher of a hit.
If I HAVE to, Nolie!
The A Bomb
He hit that one to Sacramento. Where dentistry just arrived.
Enjoy that bumm of a ballplayer, ChrisFA.
And sometimes baseball is utterly just. Scorched!
April 15th, 20122:55 pm
mc fann..you said murphy was cute talking about being a grandpa….on nvm lol
I keep telling you people….
Second coming of WIllie McCovey.
Chris is moving to Oakland…
I hate this commercial: Women to Joe Mauer, “You’re hair? Amazing!”
Rub it in, why don’t you!
Yeah, BB was robbed on that one. Stupid Braun
Heyward is such a bust.
April 15th, 20122:56 pm
If I wasn’t such a Coke Zero kinda person, I wouldn’t mind some strawberry koolaid right now. Just sayin…
The Braves and the Mets are the only NL East teams currently leading…
Let’s clear something up here for everyone while it’s between innings.
Nick did not predict the 4-1 score. That was Mixxo.
Sorry, katherine…I’m still not sure I get it…
Hey, called his HR the other night Venice!
Just glad he is healthy and playing well, man! I healthy and productive J-Hey will allow this team to achieve some things!
April 15th, 20122:57 pm
Oh…well, same difference…
Beachy is a horrible batter…
Should’ve pinch hit for him.
the player/coach stuff is normally crazy talk, but with Chipper, I actually like the idea.
Actually, not quite, McFann.
The name of the game here is “Know Thy Pessimist.”
gilf = grandpa I’d like to (well, you know).
Not me personally. I like Murphy, but not gil to do that to material. Now the guy I met 2 weeks ago today at the game against the Phils, that’s gilf material. That is, if I weren’t a married lady. Big sigh.
April 15th, 20122:58 pm
Mixxo can NOT be our rabbit’s foot doom and gloomer. He’s too negative
He will be wearing his hair that length many more ‘weeks
April 15th, 20122:59 pm
Nice efficient inning for Beachy.
April 15th, 20123:00 pm
That was the response I expected outta McFann. You don’t need to know what katherine was saying McFann. Good girl!
Make a Clemens out of Chipper….
Just play home games. Wouldn’t bother me one bit.
Umm…OK, I think ignorance is bliss in this case… Just gonna let that go…
Yeah, that’s what I thought…
WTG Beachy. great fifth
April 15th, 20123:01 pm
Jerry, I just corrupted her and educated her on what that meant. I’m sorry (hanging my head).
beachy sure got that pitch count down the last 2 innings
Reds limiting the danger in the 4′th to a sac fly. Reds up 5-3, going to bottom of 5.
Meanwhile Mets leading Phills 2-1, top 5, no outs, no one on.
Beachy is getting ahead of the hitters all day. Pitching a beauty so far. Keep it up!
April 15th, 20123:02 pm
I can’t believe y’all are saying all this stuff to McFann.
Let her have her first date first, eh
LOL, mcfann. Stay young and innocent, it’s okay. You don’t need to get as old and jaded as me
McFann is a good girl ! Y’all have to wait until I can make it out there to corrupt her!
April 15th, 20123:03 pm
Beach really only had one bad inning, and that one started inauspiciously.
You people are disgusting.
April 15th, 20123:04 pm
How did Bourn get on top of that one? Good work.
He was safe
not agreeing on that call
April 15th, 20123:05 pm
They’ve got our signs. No doubt.
Close play, tho.
Bourn was indeed safe. That was not close.
Of course Bourn comes over an loses his ability to steal bases.
He was in there. Dang, blue must be blind.
Bourn gets called out on high tags too often when he actually beats the tag.
April 15th, 20123:06 pm
YET ANOTHER REASON FOR REPLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No, not on replay, it sure wasn’t close.
That was the definition of “pulling the string” on Prado. Man.
April 15th, 20123:07 pm
Bourn slides very hard. So even when the throw beats him, he often still gets to the bag before he gets tagged. Too many umpire follow the rule of “throw beating the runner” and no one get more penalized by the unwritten rule than Bourn.
that blue is blind!
April 15th, 20123:08 pm
Great day at the plate for Chipper.
Love the fact that opposing pitchers are scared of the old man.
Good pitch out there. But amazingly, Bourne still got in there.
Shame about that call.
Freddie is such a goof ball. I kinda love it. He can stay too (also a SoCal kid)
April 15th, 20123:09 pm
Murphy IS good.
Not that I play favorites with the local boys…
April 15th, 20123:10 pm
steroids arent all bad
my little bichon friese
has been on them for 2 and a half weeks now
trying to step her down from them without killing her
but they did allow her to walk again on her own
shes 14 though most dogs her size been
in the grave for 3 years by now
Typical of too many umpires assuming an out instead actually taking the time to get call right.
April 15th, 20123:11 pm
There ya go, Mac! Thought it was gonna be an out, but Morgan blundered. Thanks
April 15th, 20123:12 pm
Nyjer Morgan’s looking lost in CF today.
Brian got a hit to make chipper run…he’s jealous and wants him on the DL.
Nyjer Morgan makes me appreciate Michael Bourn even more
Uggs will rip a double here
payback for the line drives that has been snagged
April 15th, 20123:13 pm
different steroids there gary
Murphy was wrong there. Even if Nyger dove for that ball, he had no chance to catch that. Why would you take a chance on an injury when a ball isn’t catchable?
Nats claw another one back. Another Curacao kid (Bernadina) goes first – home, on an Espinosa double. 5-4 Reds, top 6.
Mets and Phills still at 2-1.
Go McCann! (about time one of those went fór the Braves)
UMP cost us a run on the bad call.
Uggla is horrible
April 15th, 20123:14 pm
come on Uggla. Need to get you untracked
Haven’t been able to watch the whole game, but, seriously, enjoying MURPH’s commentary/analysis.
Jerry — The Lizard Baker is one of many managers who admitted Chipper puts the fear of God into them — and it affects the way the lineup is pitched to. Still apparent.
Amazing how at 40 he still commands that much respect.
the ump sure did cost us a run
Uggla, Freeman, & Pastornicky have been dead weight.
April 15th, 20123:15 pm
Too bad, Uggla couldn’t get Chipper in
April 15th, 20123:16 pm
Is he still “dating” that porn ho?
this will be a good test for Beachy. 6th inning, 3-4-5 hitters coming up.
Bourny CAN’T lose his ability to steal…we need that in our arsenal!
I don’t think Morgan made a bad play. Did you guys see how deep he was playing against McCann? I think it was great positioning because they knew Chipper would not score from first on anything other than a ball that got past the outfielders.
April 15th, 20123:17 pm
yes…havent been impressed with pastornicky at all..who was the other guy in spring training who was better but they sent him down? bring him up
wonder what happened to Freeman between the end of spring training and the start of the season. it seemed like the baseball was grapefruit size/softball size and he was ripping it. Now FF is taking bad swings, has worsening plate discipline and is struggling. Is he pushing himself too hard now that the stats count? Better pitching? Hurt? Pull happy after his power display this spring?
Hopefully he will build off his good “out” last at bat with the hard liner to left
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
