My tribute team, named in honor of our beloved blog stripper, had quite an opening weekend.
It’s still early

My team does not have a single big, gaping hole, though. Ironic….

LOWE
In light of the Wren picking up L. Hernandez and C. Durbin, he would have been much better off not dumping $10 million in salary and keeping D. Lowe!
Remember Frank, Lowe was an effective reliever with 80 saves.

Amazing what no budget constraints can do for a team, isn’t it?

Here’s DOB’s buddy on Mark Bradley’s blog
Mark,
Good stuff, but put some of your comments on DOB’s blog and you may get chastised or made fun of.
What an arrogant and obtuse man he has become. Larry

I think the team still came out ahead, at least financially, by signing Livan and Durbin… Lowe’s September performance in Atlanta packed his bags for him… he was gone regardless.

My team has a virtual g-string stocked with an endless supply of $1 bills… and a can-do attitude that is second to none.

Speaking of g-strings, anybody watch “The Client List” last night starring Jennifer Love Hewitt? I DVR’d it, but won’t have time to watch for a couple of days.
“Justified” season finale tomorrow night.

So has the rest of this season been ballgamed, yet? Did we lose any bloggers over the weekend to suicide, stroke, or other Braves induced injury?

Please, he only has Beach going 6. Livan and Durbin will definitely make into the ballgame and we will lose 27 – 0.

This place is as nasty as ever, worst it’s been since I started. I’m not all surprised though. Team collaspes, wait all offseason with that rotten taste in everybody’s mouth and now we’re seeing it replayed early the next season.

considering the source, isn’t this a compliment? this implies that DOB was not arrogant and obtuse at some point in past and he’s still a man…

Some perspective……
Our Braves haven’t won since September 23rd 2011, they are currently in the midst of an eight game losing streak over two seasons.

If the Braves sweep the Astros, there’s a good chance that they’ll be tied or ahead of the Marlins and the Phillies.
It would also be a scream if the Mets beat the Nationals in the upcoming series.

Losing streaks that end in one season and continue in another are about as relevant as… well, they just aren’t relevant at all.

I’m not one of those fair-weather fans who’s ready to throw in the towel after 3 games, nor am I one of those fans who think the Braves are just fine, have no problems, etc. I think both extremes live in worlds of their own. I call things as I see them, and what I see right now is a team not playing to their talents. Who’s at fault for that? Who knows? We can say Spring Training doesn’t count; we can say no one remembers last September. The fact is, however, the Braves are human. They good and well remember how last season ended, and you can bet they didn’t just shrug off their sub-par spring. You can’t just forget things like that. All of that, to me, equals a team that is pressing.

On the positive side, Boston.com is having a heyday of good sports writing with the start of the Red Soxs…one line:
“The Sox Monday night become the first team in baseball history confronted with a must-win game on April 9.”

But the Teeterville Nine will prevail.

Actually Braves are a concern either with lefties or righties!!!!!, but agree, vs. lefties are way more than a concern is an old inability, enhanceded by other inability of our manager to make a line-up using more right handed hitters, according with the few choices he has.
