Diaz has come up empty in 2 crucial spots already in 2 games, hopefully the big hit happens today.
April 8th, 201212:08 pm
remember that when he gives up 5 in the 6th ABW
April 8th, 201212:13 pm
Is this the main blog? They have the VAN GUNDY blog in the main blog spot on front page.
Minor will be major in todays tilt I think A couple of timely knocks today will be forthcoming, neise is good but we jump on on him and club him today
April 8th, 201212:19 pm
I know Its one series loss but this series loss will make a difference in as to weather we make the playoffs, Watch!
So you think these two losses, where the Braves never had a lead, are going to play a bigger role than the ones where they cough up a lead late in the game?
April 8th, 201212:21 pm
The BRAVES front office can’t and should not fire the whole team, so are they going to wait till we are 1-9 like we were in ST to do something? PLEASE DON’T WAIT UNTILL IT IS TO LATE TO HAVE A GOOD SEASON. FIRE FREDI hire someone who will inspire this team to play the way they are capable of doing.
April 8th, 201212:23 pm
That Y. Cespedes Cat Has been Exciting to watch so far. We Did we Not Go After Him?…But in hindsight, Im Glad the Marlins didn’t sign him
April 8th, 201212:24 pm
Yeah: Fact of the Matter is losses against teams we should beat up on make a difference…just like it did last year
April 8th, 201212:27 pm
This may be the first, last, and only time I ever say this, but TJ Simers wrote a simply wonderful column about Vin Scully today…spare a moment and read about the best in the business:
Yeah Tomaharkin sure would be sad if at end of weekend we are 0-3 aganst the MUTTS.
April 8th, 201212:29 pm
Thank you cab, I will return , going there now.
Mets lineup: Tejada SS, Murphy 2B, Wright 3B, Davis 1B, Bay LF, Duda RF, Hairston CF, Nickeas C, Niese LH
April 8th, 201212:32 pm
Just realized I didn’t post Braves lineup on blog when I put it on Twitter earlier. Sorry about that.
Bourn CF, Prado 3B, McCann C, Uggla 2B, Freeman 1B, Diaz LF, Heyward RF, Wilson SS, MInor LH
April 8th, 201212:34 pm
MattE might be the only guy who can hit a lefty in the line up. So, he bats sixth.
MattE had a good first game against Santana. He had to pinch hit against a righty yesterday (what a stupid move by Fredo)’ and , not surprisingly, struck out.
I agree Ross should have PH in the 9th yesterday,Now I have a reasonable explanation why Fredi is using Matty Diaz so much…06,07 and 09 Matty Diaz was the fish killer(batted like .400 against the fish) well Fredi G was the manager of them fish.
McFann :Ô: :Ô:
April 8th, 201212:35 pm
VaBravesFan McCann will get in the hit column with 2 doubles today
That seems reasonable…
April 8th, 201212:37 pm
Good story on VIN, a GREAT PBP announcer and a GREAT human being.
April 8th, 201212:41 pm
Blog is slow for just about 35 minns before gametime.
April 8th, 201212:47 pm
Has anyone pointed out that the mighty phillies have scored as many runs as the Braves in 2 games? Just wondering…
April 8th, 201212:48 pm
Or that Baltimore is leading the AL East and Boston & New York are both 0-2? (Boston having been outscored 13-2?)
April 8th, 201212:50 pm
Thanks for the link, cab
April 8th, 201212:52 pm
You are welcome, George & Bat
Hi cab, good I am not alone, but dropping now to take Peanut out before gamestart. Lets have a good one this afternoon y’a”. DO IT BRAVES
Hugo Z Hackenbush
Madame, how dare you suggest that a small sample size is worthless as an indicator!
April 8th, 201212:53 pm
And let’s refrain from “size matters” jokes…
April 8th, 201212:54 pm
“Blog is slow for just about 35 minns before gametime.”
It will be “All Da Way Turn’t Up! After our first wasted Chance of scoring a run with less than 2 outs, Bank On It
GameTime! Grab Some Buds!
April 8th, 201212:56 pm
cabravesfan: Good points at 12:47 and 12:48. Of course, that just means a certain segment of the “fans” on this blog will quickly point out to you why it doesn’t matter if Boston and the Yankees are 0-2 and if Boston has been outscored 13-2 and blah blah blah. You know, it’s not like Boston has a tradition-rich organization and not as if they collapsed in September like the Braves did.
April 8th, 201212:58 pm
Did I just hear Ron Gant say that if Heyward gets an opportunity to drive runs in today, he will? That’s a bold statement to make.
April 8th, 201212:59 pm
Among Others will All be joining soon, Don’t you Worry
We Need more Intro’s though!
April 8th, 20121:01 pm
Both Boston and The NY Yankees have something we don’t have and that is a high payroll and WS titles in recent years…
April 8th, 20121:02 pm
Don’t forget that FAKE Bravesgrl4life will more than likely grace us.
April 8th, 20121:03 pm
Thats The Main Resaon why ATL fans who live in Atlanta are so P’d off at Atlanta teams since 2000
Neither of which really has anything to do with winning this year…
Happy Easter !!!
Neither of which prevented the Rays from winning the AL east in 2010…
April 8th, 20121:05 pm
Happy Easter! Go Braves
Ross needs to sing “shakin”
April 8th, 20121:08 pm
I saw the comments of people on here ripping Joe Simpson last night…
How can anyone rip him? He has been with the Braves 20 years now…he is the Last of the old TBS Posse that is still doing the games on TV, I wish they would bring in Jim Powell and Don Sutton to do the games on TV as well…
D Lowe going for the tribe today
April 8th, 20121:09 pm
S/O To Chattlanta Brian…
Whats the over/under on runs scored today?
I’m Banking on 3?
April 8th, 20121:10 pm
time for a W today fellas ….
April 8th, 20121:11 pm
The braves will breakout today….6 or 7 runs.
April 8th, 20121:12 pm
oooh, Thole not in the lineup. That’s a plus.
April 8th, 20121:13 pm
Keith Olbermann @KeithOlbermann
Can’t be even 12,000 people here at CitiField at first pitch
Let’s go Bravos! Mikey’s ready to show he is here to stay. 3rd game and 3rd lineup with The Rev getting a day off already. I don’t like that…like consistent lineups. But, don’t care as long as they get a “W” they can have whatever lineup they can put together.
Gotta Take Advantage of the passed ball!
April 8th, 20121:14 pm
Will we see the first run of the year from 2nd ?
April 8th, 20121:15 pm
Am i seeing more patience today?
Here we go….Fab 5 Freddie
And that would be a no.
April 8th, 20121:16 pm
0-11 wither RISP on the season.
Oh well, looks like Freddie didn’t get the memo.
Shocker…they didn’t get the run in. Who would have thought??
NW Wind at 20-25 MPH, Not Good! We can’t be swinging for the fances!
And thats twice that we have not taken advantage of passed balls…the team needs to focus on tring to do little things to get runners in instead of swinging for the fences
Theres FF with another shi* at bat. So aggressive
April 8th, 20121:17 pm
20 years here or not, Joe is an idiot
April 8th, 20121:18 pm
It looks more and more that Fab 5 Freddie’s and UGG’s Spring Training-Home Run Derby’s off of AAA pitchers was a serious Aberration
I don’t like Fab 5 Freddie Swinging for the fences every at bat
Hey, T. Co-sign on you comment.
Greg Walker Presents! Braves 2012 RISP Tracker
April 8th, 20121:19 pm
0-for-1: TOP 1st, 2 outs, M.Prado on 2B — F.Freeman grounded out to 2B
Yep, Freddie might’ve been pressing there.
Boston and NY are both playing very good teams…the Braves are not.
April 8th, 20121:20 pm
Sure hope the boys used a little of soriano’s(major league) Jabul’s touch or rub on their lumber today. Mabe they put some of jabul’s salve in their eye balls so they can see the ball better today. B-mac might need some salve for his eyes anyway.
Your. Excuse my typing fo paws today. I’m on the Kindle Fire.
April 8th, 20121:22 pm
Hope the Braves were taking notes on how t move a runner over?
April 8th, 20121:25 pm
Bat, shame on you.
Let’s just ballgame this thing right now.
“Boston and NY are both playing very good teams…the Braves are not.”
Good Point…That Tampa Team has heart…They are fun to watch…they remind me of our early 90’s teams
Now Thats How you get Runs In…Hope those Clowns were taking notes…Its 1-0 but it feels like we are down 3-0
So that’s how you drive in a run from 3rd?
come on Metropolitans, beet those pityful Braves and keep them in the seller
April 8th, 20121:26 pm
David Wright sac fly puts Mets up 1-0. These guys, in this series, have executed a whole, whole lot better than the Braves.
Boston and NY are both playing very good teams…the Braves are not.
Santana and Dickey with the knuckleball, not exactly pushovers that we were suppose to beat up on either. They aren’t off to a great start and you want better, but damn sometimes you do have to give the other team a little credit.
A productive out…imagine it.
April 8th, 20121:27 pm
Someone had to do it though, maybe it’ll change our luck.
Ok, Lets Gets The Bats Going!
J-Hey is gonna go Yard this inning, Bank On It…No One will be on base so I like our chances
April 8th, 20121:28 pm
Loosing Managar is now a Mets fan? TRAITOR.
Tomahawkin…agreed on TB. They play the game the way I wish the Braves would. They fight and scrap for 9 innings every night.
Who would have thought that when MM was drafted his velocity would do a switcharoo with JJ and he would consistently be hitting 93 while JJ consistently hits 88.
This team is so similar to the 2011 Braves in that they fall behind early and have to battle from behind the rest of the game.
April 8th, 20121:29 pm
Geez, please get rid of the Twitter trash.
DOB, stop rubbing it in. We know.
April 8th, 20121:30 pm
Jake…come on man. Johan hadn’t pitched in 18 months and Dickey isn’t exactly a Cy Young candidate. Plus, the Met bullpen shut us down, and they’re supposed to be a weak group.
Who cares if the Phillies have only scored two runs. They have pitchers who can throw a CG…
Not to mention they have Owned us in August and September in recent years
Good AB by Diaz.
See how other teams seem to be able to get a leadoff double and score? I would like to get another crack at it!
April 8th, 20121:31 pm
and thy will own you agan this year as will the Mets
Pretty good patience by ths squad so far…let’s go J-Hey. Get in Beast mode, baby!
Go Away, Beth Keener
I wonder what kind of credentials you need to be a “social media reporter”…
And the Phillies didn’t collapse in September.
April 8th, 20121:32 pm
Heyward is a lost cause, what a weak at bat.
Well that “Bank On It” prediction got rejected
April 8th, 20121:33 pm
come on jack, at least roll the lineup over.
April 8th, 2012
April 8th, 20121:34 pm
Come On Jack! We Need a Double Don The line!
April 8th, 2012
Nope they waited till the playoffs to fold up.
Hatward should git sent back to the miners he is a dud
keep the bench sharp, DOB? Why not try and let the starters get in a rhythm and keep them sharp??
