The ownership doesn’t care, folks. Liberty Media will spend no money on this team. They have already proved that. As long as they own this team, we are gonna be headed toward Kansas City territory. Welcome to the late 80’s, again……..

Don’t worry though, he’s our “missing link”. And don’t let me for get about Raccoon Jack Wilson. The slickest fielder in the southeast.

DetroitBraves: It does seem that way, but almost hard to believe with two guys at the top of the Rookie of the Year Award, a guy that has hit 30 plus homers for years, a catcher that has been an all start 5 times, a leadoff hitter that is expected to make a half trillion dollars next year, and a Hall of Famer with a 300 plus batting average. Still, you’re numbers are right. It’s just frustrating waiting on this team. As I said, the Braves need an infusion in whatever form that might take.

Well, that performance was marginally less pathetic than the opener, but it’s ST+2 with nothing to suggest in the body of work to date that this is a playoff team. The Mets don’t have much, but it will be a quest to battle even them to avoid oblivion. The Braves have no fire and FG is clearly not a motivator or even a first-rate baseball thinker. Wren is a Liberty Media stooge. Atlanta deserves better, but it is what it is.

BRAVESOUL

It’s omly two game into the season, but this Braves team will have a problem scoring runs all year. McCann and Uggla are suppose to be our hitting leaders and they are in the middle of the lineup and not producing so far. Its hard to positive when all you hear about is how everyone has made adjustments at the plate, yet this team looks just like they did when they faded last year! they look lost! Now they are banking on a 40 year old Chipper Jones! It will take him three to 4 games to get going and the Braves will be 1-7 before they actually start hitting. Its going to be a long season Braves fans.

DetroitBraves

April 7th, 2012
4:30 pm

What’s discouraging is that they don’t really have any hitters coming along in the minors either. Bethancourt and Simmons are supposed to be plus-plus defenders but there are real questions about whether they will ever hit. Other than McCann, have the Braves developed a top hitter since the 90’s? Maybe I’m forgetting someone. I realize the jury is still out on Heyward and Freeman but it seems like they take a guy like Heyward, with patience and plate discipline, and make him as hacktastic as possible. They did the same thing with Kelly Johnson. There’s nothing wrong with taking a walk. In fact, the best thing for me from today’s game was Heyward working a couple of walks.

Preston,
I’m not sure a bat or two would be enough to change the culture permeating this franchise right now. These guys are professional hitters: we have rookie of the year candidates and winners and four previous all stars. For whatever reason, the whole is less than the sum of its parts. In my opinion, it’s not just a missing piece–it’s the passionless, drowsy identity they have somehow coated themselves with.

I think it’s time for a cleansing.

Pathetic Fredi

April 7th, 2012
4:39 pm

Worst managing I’ve literally seen in my life of watching baseball and having a clue for 19 years… 2 guys on, your team cannot score and it’s a tie game. You just had an off day. O’Flaherty hasn’t pitched in days with multiple lefties coming up. Guy had the lowest ERA in baseball for relievers last year? What does Wizard Fredi do? Put in a 300 pound RH to face multiple lefties to blow the come back within minutes classic… Cristhian Martinex earned that spot after last years performance. And don’t give me the 4th inning is too early for EOF, the game was on the line, you have Venters and Kimbrel ready to go later. Martinex could’ve pitched 2 innings. But no, let’s let Chad Durbin throw straight 90MPH fastballs. I knew another Jack was in order…

This game was blown by awful managing and that fierce Mets bullpen! I’m not a fairweather fan, I just know when I see HORRIBLE managing!

Constanza, I dunno, I would have gone with the hot guy Durango, or clutch guy Parraz. So agree there. Definitely wouldn’t have signed “Linebrink” to pitch for us again this year.
