Call Damon and Magglio. They can’t be no worse than this group.
Oh, well. I’m out. Have a good afternoon/evening/Easter, all.
Diaz fails once again. 2 games in a row he’s left 2 runners on base in huge spots…. So glad he actually has a roster spot.
We didnt need to add offense this offseason…everyone is going to be healthy and back to theirselves….hmmmmm
This team is as weak as any Braves team I can remember. Their offense was weak last season and it appears to be even weaker in 2012. Already lost a series and have shown no signs of life in the least.
Right down the damn middle and why Diaz??
The A Bomb
GOOD TRY BRAVES! Yay! I hear Fredi’s taking everyone to Pizza Hut after the game!
Great start to the year Braves. Way to make everyone forget your epic collapse from last year.
I know this will get ignored, but Braves management has to be a bit concerned that we don’t have a home game until April 13.
The way we look, the stands may be very empty after opening week-end, probably as soon as Sunday afternoon, April 15.
Diaz hell…is it ST yet?
Thanks Wren for nothing.
Diaz looks like a clown at the plate. Nice loss. This team is awful.
So yeah, this team sucks
Please no BS quotes again.
The offense sucks. We can’t hit lefties, we can’t hit the knuckleball, and I’m sure we will see lots of lefties this year.
April 7th, 20124:06 pm
Tip your cap Freddie! Fire his ass please
0-2 to start the season…yeah, way to make the fans forget about the end of season collapse last year…SHEESH!
Confusing why the back up SS with a calf injury is the pinch runner over the rookie SS?
Yeah, I want to hear the Excuses for this one…Other than Martini…Our AWFense was Garbage!
I have backed Fredi till this moment(Matty against a RH closer) WTF is he thinking?????
April 7th, 20124:07 pm
Welp, that’s the ball game. Back to writing this paper for me.
Looking forward to seeing Minor with the ball tomorrow.
0-2 to start the season.
Questionable Roster selections Diaz and Constanza have failed big time in such limited playing time already.
I seriously hope Wren gets his finger…well, respect to the women—but I am pissed. What did we really do during the off-months to improve our hitting….just no big bat, no consistent major league hitter; a professed nightmare ensues…….
Frank Wren’s job should be on the hot seat. No moves and the offense is still bad. Can’t compete if your players aren’t good enough to score runs.
WREN>>>TRADE FOR…..DAVID WRIGHT>>>>>NOW
To paraphrase DOB, “Too early to make judgments, but Braves vs.pitchers a concern.” Early yet, but man, we stink right now.
Because Hinske pinch hit for the rookie SS and the back up SS pinch ran for Hinske so he could go in if they Braves tied the game.
Bravefaninok – No lefties left on the bench. Constanza and Hinske were already used.
Bad decision after bad decision for Fredi Gonzalez. if you check out my previous posts I actually knew what was going to happen. I said we should have pitch hit for JJ in the 5th inning. Then I questioned him putting Durbin in and then I wondered why Diaz was pitch hitting instead of Henske…………I would be abetter manager than Fredi Gonzalez…….and thats SAD
The cap is tipped.
OVER/UNDER ON “YOU KNOWS” IN POSTGAME INTERVIEW: 17.5
April 7th, 20124:08 pm
Picking up where they left off at the end of last season…..
predicted the Braves would have 2nd & 3rd with 2 outs needing that clutch hit…came close…still didn’t get the clutch hit though…
“Please no BS quotes again.”
Yeah, I read the quotes Thursday and thought they were BS… The Fans know better than to accept those Crap excuses…
I guess all those folks who said “it is only Spring Training” are now going to say “it is only April”.
Same crummy ownership and management, same crummy team, same crummy results.
Fire sale will be in full mode in July. If we are going to suck then we can suck with an 30M payroll instead of 87M. Later!
Yeah. Sure the Mets would be all over that one
NO POWER IN THE BENCH….DIAZ…HEINKE…That not going to make it
We lost to a guy who’s been out of the league for 2 years and lose to a guy who got sexually abused by a babysitter.
“But its ok, we’re only 2 games into the season.”
April 7th, 20124:09 pm
Hinske had already pinch hit.
Maybee his way of protesting sending Parazz and Sutton down and keeping Diaz and Constaza.
Maybe going 1-5 against the 2 worst teams in the NL will wake up management?
Why oh why do we continue to watch these LOSERS when we know what they are going to do?

Classy- making fun of someone that was abused as a child…
In addition to the losses, does anyone else think this team is just boring? I can’t quite put my finger on it but there’s just something listless even when they win. There’s no star quality. Like even if you don’t care much at all about the Blue Jays, for instance, you probably stop to watch Bautista hit. There’s nothing like that going on with the Braves.
I’m Tipping My Cap to that Duda Dude…He Showed Out against Us…!
This Awfense is a Joke!
I have the answer. Let’s give a raise to our hitting coach, and then go up on ticket prices. That should fix everything!
Matt Diaz is just so frustrating, it’s only been 2 games and he’s left 4 runner’s on base when were trailing already. Constanza comes into pinch hit for Livan Hernandez (Career 222. AVG) and bunts….. Also he K’d with a runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs in the 1st game. These players have had major impact in our 2 losses already.
You guy’s (Braves brass) are just a bunch of donkey’s thinkin’ you pulled a fast one on the fan base, seems like mediocrity or less truely reigns in the atl. Ya’ll(scherholze, wren, etc…) are Dumber than a sack of Hammers! You & the falcons offseason moves coincide, changin’ ass’t coaches is you’re big significant moves, & not being too wise w/the budget, keep chewin’ da cud, hope it sours you’re stomach. Thanks for making us hope for nothin’, see what the team looks like when they get home. People don’t buy into losersville, boys.
April 7th, 20124:11 pm
Ah, I’d like to tip my cap to the mets offense they had a good game.
bravefaninok – who should he have used?
I think he had 3 lefty options
which one would have been your choice?
The collapse – keeping it in perspective in 2012.
Hey, I believe we have the best team in Ga. Or, is Tech better?
The 2011 Redemption Braves
2011-2012 Braves: First to Worst. There’s so many people I wanna thank! First Frank Wren for building a World-Class lineup of pansies. Second, for Good Ole Freddie Gonzalez, for believing that Matt Diaz is the “missing link”. And Third for Jason Heyward and Dan Uggla, for showing us that bad hitting is a gift from God that should never be augmented.
This team needs an infusion, and I don’t mean more feel good stories abut Chipper getting closer to coming back. Or, it needs a seriously good sports shrink. When someone gets on base, this team goes into the can’t hit mode. Heyward hits a triple with no one on, strikes out with a chance to make something happen. Freeman hits into a double play after Uggla walks, but leads off an inning with a hit next time up. It goes on and on like this. This normally shouldn’t be a worry this early in the year, but we are watching the same team play the same way as they ended the season last year.
Meds is not a lefty
April 7th, 20124:12 pm
Hanson was good, Medlen was good, Jurrjens was good, Livan was good, Durbin should be cut…give me Flande. C-Mart was good.
Our pitching is going to be good this year. But this offense is still lacking production.
I mean Bourn was on base all day and we still couldn’t score him.
The only thing we can hope for now is to be swept by the Mets, Houston, and our first home series. I think that be enough to get Fredi out the door.

“In addition to the losses, does anyone else think this team is just boring? I can’t quite put my finger on it but there’s just something listless even when they win.”
Yes, They are Boring Unless you tailgate at a game, but hey 33% off of food and cokes if you pruchase a 20 game season ticket plan!
F Liberty Media
It’s going to be a long summer folks…hanging there…look like the 80’s
wow – Ron Gant “the braves have been horrible with RISP”
David Wright kicked our asses today !!
Well if we have a Fire sell. We can trade Prado, Hudson, Borne, Jurrjens, and perhaps McCann if they are desparate. They will just have to bite the Bullet on Chipper. Maybe we can spend some money on Josh Hamilton next year
So the Braves will start off the season getting swept by the “mighty” Mets. Just go ahead and write off tomorrow as a lost also.
instead of thinking he’ll get a hit…you sit there thinking how’s he going to make an out…very frustrating…I DO NOT LIKE THIS CRAP!!!
April 7th, 20124:13 pm
cab – he is a switch hitter so he is an option
Excuse machine will be in full force for the 22nd time in the last 32 games…
1) Its early….
2) Gotta tip your cap…
3) Just couldn’t get the big hit…
4) They just got a one more hit than we did…
Facts: 1) Invent ways to not score 2) Lack of clutch hits 3) Can’t score without a HR 4) Poor at bats 5) Too many walks by the starter 6) Few hits to get rallies started…
Where am I wrong?
2 losses against the worst team in the division…chance to get swept too.
Unbelievable/depressing start to 2012. And don’t give me the “its early” or its only two games bull. This is 22 losses in 32 games period! Its not good!
This is no way to spin it positively.
Well, come on guys. We all knew the emperor had no clothes. We knew this team wasn’t very good. I don’t think we should act shocked and appalled. This is the Mets. Look at what the Tigers did to us in ST. Wren made a choice and now so can we. Stop watching and stop buying tickets.
When Diaz is your last hope, you have no hope.
At least we can look forward to the NFL draft.
Matt Diaz,Sucked with the AAAA Pirates.Of course Wren would bring him back.Worst bench in baseball.
Sorry- missed what you were responding to and assumed it was pitching options
Isn’t Fumbling Frank Wren a genious! No offense acquired this off-season, and didn’t Chad Durbin look terrific! GM of the Year!
Disaffected Braves Fan
It’s going to be a long season, but if Frank and Fredi end up getting canned as a result, I’d be OK with it. I have zero expectations for this year anyway.
The Braves need a new direction. Trying to hold on to the remnants of the great ’90s Braves teams by hiring Cox’s and Schuerholz’s lieutenants has proven to be an ineffective strategy.
They are going to be plenty seats available for the opening date game.
no Pizza Hut agin today boys! Fredi gonna go get 2 Little Caesar’s, no meat. You guys, get your own.

Hey, I believe we have the best team in Ga. Or, is Tech better?
The Seminole…can beat this Braves team…keeping in the Family bro…tomahawking…..
DetroitBraves: Hate to agree, but I do right now. I wait more for this team to take themselves out of a key situation than to capitalize on the other team’s mistakes. The ’90s group were great about taking advantage of other team’s mishaps.
Who are you kidding Joe Simpson. Its nothing but game 164. Nobody will lighten up because they can’t forget what happened last season.
Open and shut case, Johnson.

just breaking bravesfaninok’s shoes a bit
abc's of baseball
#firefredi is becoming an Atlanta Braves Fan tweet meme.
Matt Diaz, shouldn’t be in the game to hit righties. When you use guys, outside of their uses, you should expect failure.
A front office that intentionally has Costanza, Durbin, Livan and Diaz on the roster, and manager that uses ALL of them in crucial situations do not deserve to be supported. I’ve been a season ticket holder since 89, and seen it all, but this is fan abuse. They know better, and have the money to do something about it, and just refuse because mediocritiy is more profitable in the short term than success. I feel sorry for the players that have to go through it, and sorrier for the fans that pay to see it.
delutional is all i can say. ownership is delutional.
Can Of Corn
IT STARTS WITH THE MANAGER
The Braves would be fine with another manager at the helm, say if Bobby were back.
Bobby could motivate and did so, pulling verbally for his players at every at bat.
Fredi cannot; he just stands there — watching.
April 7th, 20124:16 pm
@smallmouth6, I’m going to agree with you to an extent except to say that while they don’t hit with runners in scoring position, they don’t really hit without runners in scoring position either. Today they were 0 for 4 with runners in scoring position, which means they only got 4 at-bats with runners able to get to scoring positions. Simply put, the Braves just don’t hit. Instead of getting better clutch hitters they just need better hitters, period.
I love The Positive Twitter Feed Comments on FoxSportsSouth…
WOOOOOOOOOO, Rock On!
Pennants, divisions, first round exits, wild cards, more exits… Then, the collapse. It’s just we we’re at folks.
Hey Tim….”Is Tech better?”
UGA whacked those bums 7-2!
Should have asked if UGA was better not the Yechmites!
Someone just mentioned two losses agains the worst team in the Division. Looks to me like we are the worst team……..
Don’t be hard on the Braves. These Spring Training games don’t mean anything.
Keep Fredi, I’d rather get rid of Wren. He didn’t get Fredi any new players.
It’s hard to not say “I told you so” about Diaz and Constanza.
yup, we sooo needed Durbin….
April 7th, 20124:17 pm
Keeping Costanza and Diaz has really been paying dividends so far, huh?
Chipper should just go hunting on an African Safari–at least he’ll get some excitement.
Bourn got some hits, Heyward had a triple, Freeman shows some life. But, the truth is this team will scuffle for runs all year. Wren can hope all he wants but that is not a plan. Without money to add the needed bats, the Braves are I’ll equipped to compete even against the sorry Mets who are delirious to start off winning two straight. Long year on Capital Avenue.
Matt "The Missing Link" Diaz
“Well, they were just better than us today. We didn’t capitalize on our opportunities. But the season is still long and we will continue to remain complacent and carefree until we hit rock bottom and we’re all fired.”
Wonder if the Braves Clubhouse report will have technical difficulties again today?
If you think Fredi Should be fired, end your post with a #FIREFREDI
