Collapse? Oh yeah, that was just one aspect of the oil stain that has been growing larger by the year since Ted Turner sold the Braves to empty suits. I stopped giving money to the team in 2001 when it became clear to me that the team was going to let three hall of fame starters rot on the vine without a real WS threat. As of today’s dysfunctional ownership group, I expect nothing. They have proven to be even worse than AOL Time Warner. We have a GM that seems to be a blithering idiot, but a press savvy blithering idiot nontheless, and lastly a press corp in Atlanta that doesn’t know or care about anything but amateur football in Athens so no tough questions are asked and nobody catches heat for our professional baseball team transitioning itself into a third rate organization I’m increasingly having trouble finding on a cable or satellite programmer. This organization right now… this ownership group right now… reminds me of the second-class, backwards group that used to have Jim “Hey Vern” Varney as their red-necked mascot before Ted Turner got serious about running his club to win championships. This ownership group is a poor joke, their management is a joke, and I will never part with one dollar of my money to give to Liberty Media.

Why use Medlen next? Its not a 1 run game. If you dont trust Durbin or Livan enough, why have them on the team? I have a feeling that Medlen will be the first bullpen arm burnt out this year.

Pitcher’s have a mindset that they have to pitch a shutout in order to win and it gets them in trouble. Pitching is not the problem. They need a makeover, starting with Fredi G., McCann, Bourn and J.J. Throw in their best player, Prado and something might happen. They are going nowhere with this bunch of clowns. The only way they can score if the other team makes an error.

I guess if the Braves finish in the cellar there will be more moves this off-season than last. If course Wren may say he still like the team make-up. It is going to get nasty very quickly this season. Fredi won’t have a say. May he can be Jeff Van Gundy’s assistant. The team has picked up just where they left off w/o missing a drum beat.

DOB tweeted, and Chip just reiterated, that this was our first opening-series sweep since ‘03. I looked up the box scores, and we looked pathetic against Montreal during that series as well.

Naturally, those first 3 games back in ‘03 ruined the whole season for us. Our offense sure was inept that entire year. /s

Last years excitement that turned to dread in the playoff chase has continued at the start of this season. The fans and the players will soon realize that a change will need to be made. And you can’t fire all 25 players ,so Fredi will be the first casualty.
The Braves and the Yankees are both 0 and 3 ,who is feeling more heat Fredi and Wren or Giradi and Cashman. At least the Yankee fans know that changes can be made to improve their roster ,the Braves will stand pat ,maybe change the manager but nothing that will add payroll and cut into profits.

In the NBA, you have to feed the egos of the top players.

Cannot blame Fredi for supporting the coach, but the NBA is different than any of the team sports. Its an individual star driven league and you have to kiss the better players’ tail to some degree.

I don’t see how coaches do it, unless you have the right players being an NBA coach is thankless.

Fredi, fix the Braves and let the Magic’s management fix them.

You continue saying that September 2011 is over…make sure the the team knows it, as plays like it. What we have here, is the same thinkg we saw in September 2011, and there’s no silver lining.

Chipper and Huddy coming back may lend a brief spark, but this team, the lineup in particular just does not look that good.

Jay Dubu

Disgusted, Braves mangers have been treating Chipper like this for the past, ah 10+ years. He’ll be hitting in the 3 hole when he comes back, and no one will question the move. Even with his injuries, he’s the best hitter on the roster though.

If Van Gundy does not get respect it is a Gundy thing…..
