Lets go constanza! At least its a game now…we gotta chance..
April 8th, 20123:15 pm
Collapse? Oh yeah, that was just one aspect of the oil stain that has been growing larger by the year since Ted Turner sold the Braves to empty suits. I stopped giving money to the team in 2001 when it became clear to me that the team was going to let three hall of fame starters rot on the vine without a real WS threat. As of today’s dysfunctional ownership group, I expect nothing. They have proven to be even worse than AOL Time Warner. We have a GM that seems to be a blithering idiot, but a press savvy blithering idiot nontheless, and lastly a press corp in Atlanta that doesn’t know or care about anything but amateur football in Athens so no tough questions are asked and nobody catches heat for our professional baseball team transitioning itself into a third rate organization I’m increasingly having trouble finding on a cable or satellite programmer. This organization right now… this ownership group right now… reminds me of the second-class, backwards group that used to have Jim “Hey Vern” Varney as their red-necked mascot before Ted Turner got serious about running his club to win championships. This ownership group is a poor joke, their management is a joke, and I will never part with one dollar of my money to give to Liberty Media.

well too little too late
April 8th, 20123:17 pm
Costanza is a tool
Ron in Vegas
I see that Bourn now has a hat trick for the day. What has happened to him since he came to our team?
April 8th, 20123:18 pm
Why use Medlen next? Its not a 1 run game. If you dont trust Durbin or Livan enough, why have them on the team? I have a feeling that Medlen will be the first bullpen arm burnt out this year.
Goodbye ,Georgie Constanza .Chipper will be back tomorrow and you will be waived goodbye.
April 8th, 20123:19 pm
Neise got tired and had an outfield error other than that it still would be 7-0. How in the heck did we make Manny “Gascan” Ascosta look like Mariano Riveria
The A Bomb
Using Medlen here is MORONIC.
Bring back that white trasher Schafer.
Freddies seat is getting a bit hotter. Fire his ass. This team has not recoverd at all from the choke!
Heyward generated that last run with the stolen base, otherwise, he would not have scored.
April 8th, 20123:20 pm
Bourn got the McCloth virus!!!!!!!
April 8th, 20123:21 pm
Constanza has managed to parlay a hot week or two into a sinecure with the cash poor Braves.
Why is Jose Can’t-stand-ya on the team?
April 8th, 20123:25 pm
Pitcher’s have a mindset that they have to pitch a shutout in order to win and it gets them in trouble. Pitching is not the problem. They need a makeover, starting with Fredi G., McCann, Bourn and J.J. Throw in their best player, Prado and something might happen. They are going nowhere with this bunch of clowns. The only way they can score if the other team makes an error.
Van Gundy to manage the Braves. Can’t be any worse than stupid(FG).
Look on the bright side..We’ve improved our run scoring each game!
April 8th, 20123:26 pm
‘Fredi’ and ‘fired’ are anagrams.
@reality… i hate tweets on tv too. if we had good players on the bench, us idiots on here would question why they weren’t playing instead of the guys out there losing now.
Don Sutton's wine glass
April 8th, 20123:27 pm
I guess if the Braves finish in the cellar there will be more moves this off-season than last. If course Wren may say he still like the team make-up. It is going to get nasty very quickly this season. Fredi won’t have a say. May he can be Jeff Van Gundy’s assistant. The team has picked up just where they left off w/o missing a drum beat.
April 8th, 20123:29 pm
So now Meds is being spent for tomorrow. Super move.
April 8th, 20123:31 pm
Been some strange DPs today involving Prado and Wilson.
April 8th, 20123:32 pm
it does seem like a “seamless transition” from last season to this season, doesn’t it? that ’s what happens when you keep a team together.
April 8th, 20123:34 pm
Good, Mac got that one out of the way. Now he can get back to hitting.
The rah-rahs will be arriving in 3….2….1…….
April 8th, 20123:35 pm
LETS GO BRAVES!
I’m gonna be pissed if we lose 7-6
April 8th, 20123:36 pm
Is it luck? or heart?
Not everyone is so jaded as to not cheer when their team is actually showing signs of offensive life.
April 8th, 20123:37 pm
Its Luck because we dont even get the 4 run inning id Duda doesnt drop that ball
So bases loaded and McCann pops out but with nobody on down 7-4 in 8th he hits a solo homer ? That’s like throwing a glass of water on a forest fire…
Well Acosta has reverted back to being Manny Ascosta
Uggla looks just like he did this time last year
April 8th, 20123:40 pm
5 runs from 3 hits
April 8th, 20123:42 pm
J-MAN – Five runs is pretty good in light of the last two days. Three hits is troubling no matter how you slice it.
April 8th, 20123:43 pm
At least Francisco can get the save now and I can get some Fantasy points.
well if Duda doesnt drop that ball its only 1 run for the Braves. Boy Duda is gonna get hurt out there in RF
April 8th, 20123:45 pm
Pitch hit for Jack Wilson in the bottom of the inning
Brian "Boob" McCann
April 8th, 20123:46 pm
“Well we tried to comeback, but you gotta tip your cap to a World Class team like the Mets. One game doesn’t really matter, oh except for last season when one game did matter, but it doesn’t really matter. All the guys on our team are really nice and we are all friends so winning isn’t important, even though we are getting paid $83million to win.”
April 8th, 20123:48 pm
Braves are inventing a new baseball phrase.
THE DOG DAYS OF APRIL.
April 8th, 20123:52 pm
Maybe since it’s Easter they can rise from the dead.
April 8th, 20123:53 pm
Nice approach Melky.
April 8th, 20123:54 pm
Well get your Caps ready
Heyward is pathetic.
April 8th, 20123:56 pm
Another 1 bites the dust
April 8th, 20123:57 pm
Well our record is still perfect! Who is the best prospect this year. Chipper workeed out in 1990. Who we got this year with the first pick
Solid command of last place.
April 8th, 20123:58 pm
Pull the trigger Frank.
Team won’t play for this guy.
Let him join his buddy. Change the culture while we still have a season.
April 8th, 20123:59 pm
The Astros are sportin wood just waiting for the Braves to hit H Town.
April 8th, 20124:02 pm
When Jack Wilson has a bat in hand in the ninth, you know the Braves have sunk to a new low.
April 8th, 20124:04 pm
Everyone wants to fire Gonzalez, but no one really mentions Wren. He’s the one that decided not to get a bat this past offseason.
Off to Houston we go.
DOB tweeted, and Chip just reiterated, that this was our first opening-series sweep since ‘03. I looked up the box scores, and we looked pathetic against Montreal during that series as well.
Naturally, those first 3 games back in ‘03 ruined the whole season for us. Our offense sure was inept that entire year. /s
Anyway, I’m out, kids. See you again tomorrow.
April 8th, 20124:05 pm
Is Jack Wilson really worse than Tommy Gregg or Greg Norton?
April 8th, 20124:06 pm

Good year to be a parent of kids. Should be plenty of sparse crowds and lots of tickets all summer long.
April 8th, 20124:11 pm
Look on the bright side at this pace Kimbrel will be well rested for the pennant drive in September.
April 8th, 20124:12 pm
Maybe the Braves can play like the September 2011 Braves all year, and increase ticket sells by marketing their games as a comedy routine, rather than as a serious sports team.
April 8th, 20124:13 pm
Is Spring Training over yet? Oh, those games don’t count– someone tell FG ST is over.
How low can you go!
April 8th, 20124:17 pm
Sweep! Now the team can get back to their phones and resume their Words with Friends games.

A bomb with the Yay! bomb.
Stick To Baseball And Worry About Your Braves.
April 8th, 20124:23 pm
Fredi Gonzalez u need to worry about your braves first and farmost,u are a baseball coach not a basketball. u need to get your sorry a** back out on the diamond and get some wins. are you a** might be fired and u can go and work for Orlando Magic.
I’d say Fat Fredi would do well to worry about his own job…..
April 8th, 20124:24 pm
OK — thank you Mauchzalez. We’re really close.
We need more Beth. She’s the key.
April 8th, 20124:37 pm
Frank is a master;
At creating disaster:
The Braves can’t win;
and he signs has-beens;
Can he be put to pasture?
Good news. Still only 1 game behind the Phils.
April 8th, 20124:45 pm
Tampa just bent over the Yanks for the 3rd straight day. That is a very nice team on a budget similar to ours.
Where is my bag
April 8th, 20124:46 pm
Is 0-162 possible? I guess the Brave’s record in spring training wasn’t a fluke.
April 8th, 20124:51 pm
Last years excitement that turned to dread in the playoff chase has continued at the start of this season. The fans and the players will soon realize that a change will need to be made. And you can’t fire all 25 players ,so Fredi will be the first casualty.
The Braves and the Yankees are both 0 and 3 ,who is feeling more heat Fredi and Wren or Giradi and Cashman. At least the Yankee fans know that changes can be made to improve their roster ,the Braves will stand pat ,maybe change the manager but nothing that will add payroll and cut into profits.
Chop It Up All-star
April 8th, 20125:03 pm
It goes without saying, but this is the last start that the Braves needed after the collapse late last year. It’s early, so no panic, but if any team needed a blazing start it was the Braves and we the Braves fans.
April 8th, 20125:19 pm
Francona watch is on…
April 8th, 20125:33 pm
why bring race in this non baseball issue Howard would be the same rather the coach is black or white,he want to win just as the same for the braves if that is possible, I myself do wish we had bobby back for at least one more year or someone that can coach baseball fg is not it at all, even though we wow one ws an had many years of wining season I for one would have love that than the one one we had in september,Ted where are you now LM is bull shi_ an everyone knows it we make the phiilly looks like world beater an they are not, ask the cardinals, enough said
April 8th, 20126:55 pm
In the NBA, you have to feed the egos of the top players.
Cannot blame Fredi for supporting the coach, but the NBA is different than any of the team sports. Its an individual star driven league and you have to kiss the better players’ tail to some degree.
I don’t see how coaches do it, unless you have the right players being an NBA coach is thankless.
April 8th, 20128:23 pm
the braves manager need to learn how to win baseball games instead of worrying about van gundy. he’s winning and gonzalez isn’t
April 8th, 20128:24 pm
Time to give Fredi his walking papers, I’m sure he can get a job with the Magic!
April 8th, 201211:15 pm
I have to agree with everyone else. You are no a very good baseball coach so please leave basketball alone and learn yo9ur job.
April 8th, 201211:35 pm
Fredi’s comments were making sense until he brought up Majic Johnson. Does Fredi not remember Majic getting Paul Westhead fired? Doe your homework before you open your mouth.
April 9th, 20124:28 am
I would appreciate you focusing on the Atlanta Braves who were just sweep by the Mets. The Magic will be ok with their situation. He that has his own house operating on the right track should be the one that’s talking.
April 9th, 201210:38 am
Fredi, fix the Braves and let the Magic’s management fix them.
You continue saying that September 2011 is over…make sure the the team knows it, as plays like it. What we have here, is the same thinkg we saw in September 2011, and there’s no silver lining.
Chipper and Huddy coming back may lend a brief spark, but this team, the lineup in particular just does not look that good.
April 9th, 201210:48 am
Disgusted, Braves mangers have been treating Chipper like this for the past, ah 10+ years. He’ll be hitting in the 3 hole when he comes back, and no one will question the move. Even with his injuries, he’s the best hitter on the roster though.
April 9th, 20127:25 pm
I am late to the party on this one but so far all Freddie has proved in Atlanta is the then Florida Marlins were correct in his firing…. All leaders need to take a stand…. If Van Gundy does not get respect it is a Gundy thing….. Freddie is fast losing my confidence and perhaps that of his players if we look at the team over the past 3 months of baseball spring training included…… We miss Bobby and all the Bobby haters take note Freddie got work to do or he needs to look for work!
April 10th, 201212:53 pm
Has anyone seen Terry Pendleton
April 11th, 20123:22 pm
