I think we need to change the lyrics of the 1970s band Player song “Baby come back” to” Bobby come back”
Spending all my nights
All my money spent on watching this clown
Doing anything just to get him of my mind
But when the Bar Tab comes
I’m right back hoping they fire Fredi again
Trying to like him is just a waste of time
Bobby come back, any kind of fool could see
That you are better in everything you dooooo
Bobby come back, you can blame it all on me
Frank was wrong, and we just can’t live without you
All day long, he misuses Martin Prado
Trying to keep up the smile while I chug my beer
But as my team goes down
I get that empty feeling again
How I wish to God that you were here
Bobby come back, any kind of fool could see
That you are better in everything you dooooo
Bobby come back, you can blame it all on me
Frank was wrong, and we just can’t live without you
Now that hes put us in the cellar
Give me the chance to make a plea
Your a better manager with courage and a heart
Fredi is nothing worth to see
Ain’t there nothing left for me
Bobby come back, any kind of fool could see
That you are better in everything you doooooo
Bobby come back, listen, you can blame it all on me
Frank was wrong, and we just can’t live without you
Calling all car. Hey frank would u plz get us another left handed slap hitter We need the entire starting lineup to be left handed hitters. Of course, frank you couldn’t have, possibly, seen ahead that we had McCann and Chipper (I know he’s a switch hitter but he has no power from the right) with Freeman and J-Hey coming, all lefty’s. And don’t say Uggla. He’s one guy. Just keep sitting on all those Gwinnett pitchers that other teams would give a kings ransom to get. They are gonna win a lot of games this yr……for the Gwinnett Braves that is. Yea Frank we have enough offense… To win 80-85 games. And then we, as long time Braves fans, get ridiculed by other posters on DOB’s blog for not being willing to put up with mediocre, at best, offense while Wren sits on a plethora of young pitchers that he could trade for offense. Yea we Braves fans are the problem. RIDICULOUS.
Bobby was great. He made baseball a reality in Atlanta, but, the peaked in the early mid-90s. He gave us solid regular season baseball year in and year out though despite what people said about him not having to do anything due to the big 3. About redi [sic] for the Francona era actually.
Are you kidding me? How fast was that half an inning? I just turned to the Masters for what I thought was maybe five minutes and I come back to see another Brave player striking out to end the inning. WTF?
The manager is like a president: they get too much credit when they win, and too much blame when they lose. This goes way beyond Fredi. It’s a systemic problem now. It’s the post HOF pitching, post Bobby, post 100 million plus payroll era, and things are going to be different.
Raising our pitchforks and torches and demanding DOB storm the front office like the sheriff of righteousness, and asking questions like, “What were you thinking today? Diaz in the 9th? Why! WHY!” is very misguided. We think the reason we all clamor for DOB to tackle Fredi and start pummeling him about his head is we want some accountability–some fair minded journalism, damnit!–but if we stop and took a breath we’d realize we are giving in to a much more primal uncivilized emotion: revenge.
After the parade of division titles, we have become so conditioned to winning, anything resembling mediocrity becomes unacceptable.
And we want someone to pay for taking that euphoria away from us! We don’t have an access card, so we heave this grotesque responsibility onto DOB to make the pain go away under the pretense of asking hard hitting questions. This is the guy who has recently come to loggerheads with Chipper Jones and a slew of others over the years and still has to work with these people daily.
I get worked up almost daily watching these games, and I spew my share of sarcasm–mocking Diaz’s ineptitude is within the spirit of the blog, I think–but asking DOB to be our union representative and to take our demands to Fredi is when we become a bit unhinged, I think.
It’s not as though we aren’t armed with our own rebellions. We can NOT go to games. And the best part about that is it sends a message AND it restores our emotional balance.
Are you kidding me? How fast was that half inning? I turned the station to watch the Masters for what I thought was five minutes and I come back to see another Braves player striking out.
Hey guys, we were going to get this ship righted. I have alot of work to do but guys aren’t going to hang their heads. There is no shame in being potentially swept by the Mets. They are helluva ballclub. A dynasty in the making. Well, guys, I gotta go. Looks like I need my get wrist ready to tip my cap in about a hour.
What we are being “no hit”. Well guys look, this isn’t some mediocre pitcher from a mediocre ballclub. This is a future Hall of Famer we are talking about. Its not like Jonathon Niese is some run of the mill pitcher with a career ERA over 4.00.
How can one of the teams that invented the TV revenue stream give themselves the shaft like this? The Braves own the Southeast. There are no other teams down here other than the Rays and Marlins. Braves Country is Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, both Carolinas and lot of Florida.
For a corporate team run by bean counters, a Media bean counting outfit too no less, it’s inexcusable to hamstring the team like this. As attendance dwindles the revenue stream will only continue to shrink. Enjoy Uggla, his modest signing is the last FA we are likely to see for a while. And, yes, that goes for McCann unless his hometown discount is some kind of extreme.
I was watching the masters for an half an hour and foolishly clicked back to see how my Braves were doing. I realized the Mets already scored and we cant. Game OVER
I like how the Braveslive people are only showing thetweets of fans who say th same thin…..”Its only 2 games we have a whole season in front of us” Maybe I’ll put something like that up just to get my name on TV lol

There is a lot of truth in what you say Ray. But the 90’s are gone and I think most long term fans realize this. Ted doesn’t own the team so the Braves have financial constraints now and that’s frustrating to most longerm fans. I think most of us realize this. The mind boggling issue for me is the shear blindness by Wren that we don’t have enough offense, we are way too left handed a lineup so we get totally handcuffed by good left handed pitching, and there is such a lack of clutch hitting. We may lose a game 1-0, then 2-1, and win the third game of a series 11-2 and if you add up the total runs it doesn’t look so terrible but we all know the utter lack of clutch hitting on this team the last 3 yrs or so. And yet Wren has trading chips in all of our young starter but he will not pull the trigger, and I think it’s because it would be an admission that he has failed to put a credible offense on the field to potentially win a championship, even though we have the pitching to do just that. It baffles me to know end
i have followed the braves since 1969. i was 10. no band wagon jumping for me (on or off) and this team looks bad. it was so bad in the 70’s and 80’s that i was allowed to pick a 2nd favorite so i would have a team to cheer for in the 2nd half of the season. looks like we are about back to that point now. go braves…game is basically over but let’s at least get a hit.

@ rugburn. I pointed that out that they are only posting the “Fredi friendly” tweets. In fact if they posted some of the majority of tweets they would not like it
Got to love how during Spring Training….Minor Minor mows down a bunch of mostly Minor Leaguers and never will bees……..and Jason Heyward rips a bunch of last cuts to the Minor Leagues in the last few Spring Training….Freddie Freeman hits 6 homers in 3 days the last week of Spring Training…..however, against a Meta team many predicted to finish last…..they can’t do anything close to resembling replicating those results.

Well I was wrong I thought the Mets would only score 4 points. I’m also wrong because I thought the Braves would muster up 1 run………See DOB thats how you admit your wrong. Now try it with Fredi Gonzalez. Trust me the TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE.

Dr. JZ, the Braves are a bad team. The starting pitching is suspect, and they have no offense to spek of. Can only score runs if they hit a HR.
