Yep, further south 39th st. on the dunes. Don’t really go there that often. Kids are grown and moved on, wife passed, so mostly relatives use the place from week to week during the summer.
March 28th, 20123:15 pm
Double, 5-2 Yankees…
March 28th, 20123:16 pm
Shoulda left Kimbrell in
O’Fherty not ready for the Reg season yet.
flange1: Yep, Lockheed has been berry, berry good to Marietta and surrounding areas. Sometimes I wish I had worked there, but I couldn’t handle getting up at 5:00 every morning…I’m a night person.
March 28th, 20123:17 pm
Fly to Jason ends the top of the 8th…
They said after letting AGon walk that they’ll trade better at bats for some defense. That tells me Pastornicky will start since he can probably put up a better AB than Simmons right now.
March 28th, 20123:20 pm
Sorry to hear that Trader… well, we’ll be there the last two weeks of July if you want to come down and meet the 4 year old… teaching her how to surf this year. The 5 year old picked it up pretty quickly last summer, was riding waves on day 1.
March 28th, 20123:21 pm
Constanza flies to left…
March 28th, 20123:22 pm
Hinske double to the wall in left!!!
It’s a great place for a true family vacation. Enjoy
have to admit, I’ve never noticed. kenhotlanta
Really, you never noticed? All he ever did was stand at first base either shaking his booty or grabbing his crotch.
March 28th, 20123:23 pm
Bourn grounds to 2nd, Hinske to third…
March 28th, 20123:24 pm
It’s a girl thing, Ken
I swear i have never seen one team ground out to second and first more than the Braves.
March 28th, 20123:25 pm
Yeah, Marteeen !!!!
5-3 Yankees – BMac batting….
Mac out deep to center…
March 28th, 20123:26 pm
2 Foot short BMac
It’s a girl thing, Ken
Maybe, but Tex’s mannerisms were a bit excessive.
Freeman and McCann don’t appear to be tip top shape athletes, but they’re our two best hitters imo. Prado is pretty close to them.
March 28th, 20123:32 pm
where is all this Freeman in bad shape crap coming from. Guy looks like The Hulk
March 28th, 20123:33 pm
Minor League Stats:
Player A – career ERA-2.96, career WHIP-1.139, last season at AAA ERA-2.55,WHIP-1.182, 7.7 H/9, 0.9 HR/9, 7.6 K/9, 3 BB/9
Player B- career ERA-3.56, career WHIP-1.264, last season AAA ERA- 4.15, 7.9 H/9,
1.7 HR/9,10.4 K/9, 4.6 BB/9
Player C- career ERA-2.42,career WHIP-1.079,last season AAA ERA- 1.19, WHIP-0.796, 4.8 H/9,
0 HR/9, 2.4 BB/9, 10.5 K/9
Player D- career ERA-2.52, career WHIP-1.046,last season AAA ERA-1.49,WHIP-0.859, 5.4 H/9, 0.7 HR/9, 2.3 BB/9, 12.2 K/9
Don’t know if this will stay ledgible after I post it, but if it does, tell me which player you would feel high on based on overall minor league stats? No cheating. You may quibble about players C and D but clearly they would be your best 2 guys based on stats. Player A is Julio Teheran, B is Randall Delgado, Player C is Kris Medlen who had arguably the best minor league stats of all, and player D is Tommy Hanson who got the label of “can’t miss” star. Braves have won over 80 % of Medlen’s starts, take out his 1st 2 game she started after getting called up and his ERA is barely over 3. He never got a role handed to him, your a starte, no your a reliever, no your a starter again, now your a reliever. Oh and TH- 6′6″, JT-6′2″, RD-6′3″, KM-5′10″ too bad maybe the only numbers that count are the ones that matter the least.
March 28th, 20123:34 pm
Roman Gal: See cab @ 3:24.
Chris Jones pitching – ground out, single, FC, ground out…
March 28th, 20123:35 pm
there is a difference between stats and projection
Braves notes: Venters set to return Thursday; Braves trade for minor league 1B/OF; Minor to face Nats’ Edwin Jackson
See, I guess you’d probably pay more attention if Erin walked around grabbing her crotch all the time.
March 28th, 20123:37 pm
he’d pay even more is she walked around grabbing his….
What’s the deal with Jason Heyward playing CF? Doesn’t make much sense. Would make more sense to have Durango or Constanza out there.
March 28th, 20123:38 pm
Uggla struck out – 2-2 on Freeman…
March 28th, 20123:39 pm
First walk for either team today…
March 28th, 20123:40 pm
Tyler running for FF…
Jason fouls another…
March 28th, 20123:41 pm
Just misses – count full…
March 28th, 20123:42 pm
makes a lot of sense, if he can play it to their satisfaction they might not take either of those other guys north, perhaps Parraz instead
Tied at 5!
March 28th, 20123:43 pm
NO NO NO, you guys who have been ripping him all along can not root for him now, it’s too late….
March 28th, 20123:44 pm
Foul pop out to the catcher by Simmons…
Impressive opposite-field shot there for Heyward. He’s looked good for the most part in past week or longer. Yesterday had some really good at-bats against Mets.
March 28th, 20123:45 pm
Constanza – 1-1 count…
But, nah…same guys trashing him now had him in the HOF in 2010, so it all works out, LOL.
March 28th, 20123:46 pm
K ends the 9th – extra inning coming…
yayya!!!!!! (I’m still back with the Heyward moment).
March 28th, 20123:48 pm
Simmons hasn’t played above A ball.
March 28th, 20123:49 pm
noleee: you know me too well!
Line drive off Simmons glove…
nolie is a tough audience.
March 28th, 20123:50 pm
Highway to the nolie zone!
Steal as ball gets by Boscan…
March 28th, 20123:51 pm
makes a lot of sense, if [Heyward] can play [CF] to their satisfaction they might not take either of those other guys north, perhaps Parraz instead
I’m certainly fine with that, I’ll tell you. Not so much Heyward in CF, but Parraz breaking camp with them. He’s a teeny-tiny bit less scrubby than the other options.
Bunt advances the runner to 3rd…
Heyward had a great at bat there. Looking to go the other way and waiting on the off-speed pitches as well. Good to see him get such a clutch hit.
March 28th, 20123:52 pm
nolie and scoots on at the same time… watch what you say… they take notes for future chiding.
Mark Lamb pitching to Bill Hall…
March 28th, 20123:53 pm
2-2 count – just misses, full count…
March 28th, 20123:54 pm
ans Email them back and forth to make sure they don’t miss anybody Murph
March 28th, 20123:55 pm
K swinging – 2 out…
The beginning of the season is hard for me….Venice Jim writes “Mark Lamb pitching to Bill Hall” and I’m all, “who?” I literally can’t tell a Yankee from a Brave.
March 28th, 20123:56 pm
Murph, I’ll chide you no more. Going chide-less. Chide-free. Like that.
The combined numbers of the pitcher and batter for that at bat was 187…
Gustavo Molina batting – 1-1…
Email? C’mon… the law of averages says that one of you two doesn’t know how to use email.
March 28th, 20123:57 pm
Runner steals second on ball 2…nice block by Boscan…
JASON great catch in center to end the inning…
March 28th, 20123:58 pm
JHEY Can Play Center to…
Now lets get the winning run, please!
He came racing in on looping ball in front of him…
March 28th, 20123:59 pm
scoots has someone do it 4 him….
the law of averages says that one of you two doesn’t know how to use email.
nolie and I were early adopters of technology, all kinds. We’d be geeks, except that we’re too cool.
March 28th, 20124:00 pm
Kontos still pitching for NYY – Jose Yepez leading off…
Methinks Jordan Parraz will win a roster spot.
Come on JOSE..JOSE
I also have a notebook of names and comments made over the years around this place. It’s in our safe and one day I’ll bring it out and fire away.
March 28th, 20124:01 pm
Strike 1 called – fouled off – fly to right…
hey you let out all our secrets. I thought if I made one of us sound dumb, he’d be more careless and give us more to chide on…..
March 28th, 20124:02 pm
Luis Durango to bat – strike 1…
Close… but not cigars for JOSE
Hey we can’t lose this game, sweet.
March 28th, 20124:03 pm
and of course there is no way that anybody here would think I was a dummie, so I hadta throw you under the short bus
1-2, foul – swings and misses for the K…
Not watching game, but just thinking that if Heyward can hit like 270, have a decent OBP, hit about 20hrs, that takes care of soooo much offensively. We would pretty much be set unless Chipper goes down for an extended period. Keep it up Jason!
I thought if I made one of us sound dumb, he’d be more careless and give us more to chide on…..
I gotta cut Murph some slack, man, sorry. I got a little snarkier than intended with him the other day, and staying off his case is my way of apologizing. Without, you know, actually apologizing.
I keep a history of Ward posts, mainly because I want to turn them into a book after he goes postal… will be a fascinating look into the mind of Ward.
The weight of the entire season on Prado’s shoulders…
March 28th, 20124:04 pm
1-1 – Drew Sutton on deck – pop to short…
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
