Yeah, Spring Training Gameday is always messed up…I guess that’s partly why I haven’t been quite as “religious” about following these games as I usually am. Ready for the real games to start up…
Murph, got it. If I had my druthers, we’d keep Bethancourt. But if he’s near major-league ready, and we have an all-star catcher who isn’t changing fielding positions (and surely isn’t going to be traded), then what? Also, if Prado moves to 3B in ‘13, what happens to LF and CF?
The Braves host the Mets Friday with left-hander Mike Minor scheduled to start. He will be followed by Craig Kimbrel, Eric O’Flaherty and Yohan Flande.
Don have you not posted the same drivel here at least a thousand times? My lord man! Your brain is like a tape recorder placed on repeat forever. We get it!!! Every Braves fan knows the stats. Now take out the trash and clean your room before your Mom gets home!! And lastly, go away please. Thanks.
If the Braves put so much stock into Hanson/Teheran/Delgado/Minor, why not stretch Medlen out, give him starts through May, and then trade him for a good-to-really-good prospect at the deadline?
JJ’s stock has fallen every time he’s touched the ball since the All-Star break last season, so I’d guess we’re stuck with him unless we want to flip him for a smaller return that previously hoped.
If Medlen isn’t seen as a future piece of the rotation, yet there are holes to be filled in 2013, then I don’t see why they don’t build him up and then dangle him out there to see who bites.
The Braves have to go with Pastornicky, right? I can’t imagine that they would consider going with Simmons until at least June, possibly much later.
Pastornicky has shown slightly more pop (see his homeruns against higher-level pitching), has drawn walks at a slightly higher rate (in 2010 alone he drew 55 walks while Simmons has drawn 45 in two full seasons) and has already played at higher levels—though he’s three months younger than Simmons.

@AGTFan53-So, you think I’m stupid for telling the truth? Boo hoo hoo. The truth hurts. And the truth is he is just a guy who can hit a baseball better than most people. Plain and simple. Just because I don’t share your view that Jones is a God or Superman or worthy of all the mass hysteria over his retirement. Sure, Jones was a great player, but, here’s what gets your goat, I don’t care. You’re ticked off because there are people who don’t share your love. Go tell it to someone who cares. As for me, no tears.
Any updates on Freeman?? If he’s got a broken hand… oh man, I don’t even want to think of Hinske over there trying to pick Pastornicky’s throws out of the dirt.
