MIBravesFan, Soph: Thanks.

Soph, as Seth Davis pointed out, real difference for Kansas was in rebounds (+9 against UNC team that led the nation in that category) and at the free-throw line (+9 free throws made).

This is one of the two or three least-talented KU teams in the past 15 years, but they’re as tough as any Kansas team has been.

Me too, George. Hope he comes back next season. Kentucky had quite a scare when Anthony Davis went down in their game but I read he’s okay.

In colage ball there is way to much “one year and out to the NBA” I liked it when you could see the same kids 3 or 4 years.

I didn’t mean my comment to sound that way. You’re probably right about the outcome of the Final Four. But it’s just good to see them actually play the games. NC State’s win comes to mind. And the people on the blog throwing the Braves under the bus before one major league game has been played . . . .

If the April schedule is a “cake schedule” (as TH likes to say), then it may give the Braves a chance to get some guys healthy and get some slow starters a little more polish. Could be just what the Braves need.

Did Uggla have a good spring last year? If so, I’m scared because we all know what happened in the regular season. If I were fat Fredi I would go ahead and start a set lineup so the guys can get used to that before opening day. I feel like that was a problem last year. Too much mixing things up. The Phillies don’t do that. They stick with a lineup and ride the highs then wait out the lows of batting order.

Fredi said on MLB Radio today that Sutton can even play OF.

Other thoughts – Durnago and Parraz have outplayed Diaz and Constanza this Spring. No doubt they can keep three of these four at AAA (not Diaz), but LF, not the bench is suddenly a lot more important – 4ABs v maybe 1AB a game. I’d rather see Durango and Parraz stay with team. 18 days left until opening day. This should be an important competition these next couple of weeks.

I would also announce that Medlen will be #5 starter until Hudson is ready to start and that Teheran and Delgado will start season at AAA as starting pitchers and get plenty of work so they are ready if anyone falters on big team.

chipper’s 1999 season is the only one in history to be as well rounded and complete in virtually every offensive category. the key is that he did not strike out 100 times, and he stole atleast 25 bases with 40 2b and 45 hr.
avg 315, obp 440, slg 630, ops 1070, g 154, pa 700, ab 560, r 115, h 180, 2b 41, 3b 1, hr 45, rbi 110, sb 25, bb 125, so 94, and tb 355.
in fact, chipper has never struck out 100 times in any year, and very few power hitters can say that, or non power hitters for that matter.
1st ballot hall of famer, and any sportswriter that does not vote that way because they never vote for someone on their first year has simply lost his ever lovin mind.

VJ: In the 1970’s, Bert Sugar published some books on Baseball Cards just when card collecting was starting to become popular and shows were popping up in big cities. I thought it was unusual because his background was boxing and he was not known to be a baseball card collector, but I guess he saw an opportunity to make some money on a hot new subject. The books were very well done and are collector’s items themselves now.

The Braves didn’t say anything about the soreness until Saturday, a day after Teheran threw a 25-pitch side session at camp instead of pitching in a minor league game or against Toronto in the Braves’ Grapefruit League game. His ailment was described as general arm soreness rather than specific shoulder or elbow discomfort.
