I think Chipper will work with the team in ST for a couple of years and stay home with the wife and kids for a bit.
That would also give him a chance to find out if he can handle the frustration from teaching guys who don’t get hitting quite as well as he himself.
There isn’t much doubt about his knowledge of hitting, and I’m guessing that he’s able to communicate that knowledge effectively, but not every pupil can assimilate the lesson in a timely fashion. Chipper probably is well-served to find out if that fact would wear on him, first and foremost.

One of the BEST third baseman? Do ya mean best offensive third baseman?
Because I can’t think of any HOF 3Bers that committed 15+ errors in a season 7 times!
The problem with you Atlanta ‘true fans’ would be this: Y’all care more about having Chipper Jones on the team than winning the World Series. Sure, if Atlanta was still a perennial last place team then blind allegiance would be understood. However, this team is a lot better than the 1980’s but the ‘true fans’ still seem to be satisfied with the status quo.

kenhotlanta….Mothers Finest (after Another Mother Further album came out) was a great freaking concert. I remember the student union bringing them on campus for a free student concert at college.
Do you remember the dive bar “Hedgin’s” close to Roswell and Piedmont when The Satellites were pretty much the house band. Might recall they became The Georgia Satellites.
This towns had some real rockin’ bands in all the places of it’s heyday….Now Buckhead is a congested shopping mall, no flavor or character…and Atlanta is one big, cookie cutter suburb of itself. Everybody’s afraid to go out and drink and have a good time. Or if they do, they think THAT is the good time. A bunch of overpriced so called bars and restaurants. Who the hell can afford to go out? Don’t forget the old Buckhead Saloon. See a band, drink cheap, walk next door to Limelight for some ladies. Glory Days!
