There’s a frog the size of Jose Constanza in our pool. I think I’ll call him Georgie from now on…

Time is short…better kick it in gear boys.
March 21st, 20129:36 am
It’s been raining here for 19 1/2 hours without stopping and it’s not even close to being over.
March 21st, 201210:03 am
Lew– the pollen count here in Atlanta yesterday was over 9000. Miserable
March 21st, 201210:04 am
But today, it “dropped” to just over 5000.

tomohawkin But My Big Boy Gut Tells Me that The SS Battle May Not be solved by Opening day,
you think rev and simmons might both break with the club? rev is thought of as a future utility player anyways, and with wilson hurt to start the season, we technically have room for both of them.
March 21st, 201210:08 am
It appears that today’s game is the free MLB.TV game of the day…

SEND US YOUR RAIN!
Our roads are yellow! You can’t breathe when you go outside!

Scott Miller @ScottMCBS
Not good for #stlcards: @JoeStrauss reports Chris Carpenter headed back to St. Louis to have bulging disk in neck checked.
March 21st, 201210:18 am
My plan for the starting pitchers….start JJ in Gwinett to get his stuff straightened out 1. Hanson 2. Beachy 3. Minor 4. Medlin 5. Delgado …when Huddy comes back move Medlin to the pen. When JJ gets it together he bumps Delgado down to Gwinett
March 21st, 201210:24 am
Felix – All the snow up here just melted and the trees are just beginning to bud, so the pollen hasn’t gotten bad yet. It all the mold and mildew from the wet. But the pollen will be here qany day now.

Yes’Sir Buddy…I’m not a Fan of Jackie Wilson at All…He can’t hit water if he fell out of a Boat, and his defense is Overrated and we saw that late last season…Why is he so high on everyone’s list on here???
I want to just have 2 SS going north and that will be Simmie and The Rev, Wilson is Done!
March 21st, 201210:29 am
Lew-everything here is pine pollen yellow. No chance of rain until maybe Friday.
March 21st, 201210:32 am
Felix – I believe it. I’ve lived in Atlanta, MIlledgeville, Macon and Jones County for a substantial portion of my life. Not a big fan of pine plllen myself, especially when you consider the reason the Green Mountains got their name – pine trees.
March 21st, 201210:34 am
And let’s not forget Athens, too.

How bout ya Lew…..
On vacation this week, pulled the bass boat out of the shed yesterday, front yellow with pollen , gonna slip in the lake tomorrow……..
March 21st, 201210:53 am
I know it’s beautiful up there, but I couldn’t handle all that snow. I can make it through two weeks of pollen.Do wish I was on that bass boat with you IVAN.
tomohawkin I want to just have 2 SS going north and that will be Simmie and The Rev, Wilson is Done!
i think wilson gets his job as soon as he is healthy, but having the SS competition continue into the season isnt the worst idea i have ever heard. get them both some time with the big club, in big league games, and see who plays. on the other hand, stability is a good thing when the team goes north.
March 21st, 201210:54 am
On a different note…I’m concerned about JJ, no matter what Fredi and Wren say.
March 21st, 201210:56 am
UGA beat GT in baseball last night. That always makes me smile.

On 30 Clubs in 30 Days, Harold Reynolds and John Hart think a lot more of the Braves than most folks on this blog. Good for them and I hope they are right.
March 21st, 201211:03 am
kenhotlanta, i didnt get to watch the 30 clubs in 30 days special…would you mind giving an overview, if you have time? or is there a place i can go watch it?
March 21st, 201211:05 am
Parraz being given every opportunity to make the club… I hope he does.
Good to see Simmons in there again. He should see some pitches to hit from Lannan.
March 21st, 201211:06 am
In an Interview ESPN Game yesterday Freddie Gonzalez Say that he will start using the regular line up in the next couple day so they start click it….i guess not today (No Chipper & no Prado).
March 21st, 201211:10 am
Good news is they found nothing abnormal in my throat area, bad news is there’s still pain in there. They’ll do another scan probably. More high tech or something. I’m relieved.
March 21st, 201211:11 am
Great news Brian!
March 21st, 201211:18 am
Got VJ by a hair…
great news CTB
March 21st, 201211:24 am
What the hell is the point in ranking the 500 best MLB players?? ESPN is turning into Bleacher Report!!!
DAP: MLB-TV is showing the Braves edition of 30 Clubs in 30 Days all day today. They like our lineup, starters, and especially the bullpen and think we will be in the race all year, with Harold picking us to win the East.
March 21st, 201211:28 am
JJ isnt starting the year in Gwinnett. He’ll be in the rotation or on the DL.
March 21st, 201211:44 am
IVAN – Sounds like fun. Feed some of those bass for me.
TnBrian – Definitely good news.
March 21st, 201211:52 am
A quick note before I hit the road for the day: Boy, if we think we have issues with our personnel, how would you like to be a Phillies fan? I certainly don’t wish any ill will on another person (well, not too many other persons), all those infield injuries are going to put a lot of added pressure on that incredible starting rotation.
At least in ATL, we all kinda know that the end of the cattle drive is just around the corner with Chipper. No big surprises.
Have a great day folks.
CTB, I hope your appointment turned out OK for you today.
March 21st, 201211:54 am
And I missed your post about 40 minutes ago……. (I just saw your posts right after I left last night about going to the doc today)
March 21st, 201211:56 am
Big start for Hanson. We will get an idea as to how he will perform this season based on todays start.
We know Jurrjens is finished. He is a worse version of Lowe of last year.
Now lets see what Hanson can give us.
We have Minor and Beachy who will pitch decent for us.
Jurrjens is patehtic
Hanson is the key
March 21st, 201211:59 am
brian, flange1, Lew, DS1 -THANKS …I’m at ease with things for the first time in a while. Weird how that works, but I do feel a lot better because I know things aren’t nearly as bad as I was privately thinking to myself for a while there.
March 21st, 201212:02 pm
22 hours. Still raining.
March 21st, 201212:09 pm
veer, you are pathetic, or whatever “patehtic” means. Jurrjens is trying to adjust to pitching with a knee brace combined with a loose mound, kinda like peeing in the dark.
March 21st, 201212:19 pm
veer….. your right JJ is done, absolutly no hope that we’ll get anything out of him in 2012.
Teheran and Delgado will never be quality starters and even though you say Hanson is key I’m sure you really know Hanson is a bum. Might as well stop watching now… board up the Ted… cancel the season.
March 21st, 201212:22 pm
(making sure no JJ on my fantasy team) Yuk.
not sure about jurrjens being done, but he sure isnt ready for the season to start. does he have about 3 starts left? he just has to figure something out, to at least pitch reasonably well.
March 21st, 201212:28 pm
Bruce Bochy was right about JJ after all. Dud with no arm. End of story.
March 21st, 201212:33 pm
DOB blog: where over dramatic amateur analysis happens every day all day!!
March 21st, 201212:34 pm
The entire season )and possibly the future of the Braves franchise) rests on Tommy Hanson’s performance TODAY.
If he struggles, he will never EVER be a decent pitcher again and the Braves will never EVER have a winning season again.
Good luck Tommy Gun!
March 21st, 201212:40 pm
David O’Brien @ajcbraves
I’m back in ATL for 3 days. Vivlamore covering in FLA
I couldn’t agree more!! I’ve been telling people about March 21st for a few weeks now… If Tommy G doesn’t go at least 6IP 18Ks and 0BB the franchise might as well move out of ATL!! He’s got the weight of the whole franchise resting on his shoulders today. Go get em Tommy you can do it!!!
March 21st, 201212:43 pm
New Vivlamore Bloggage, Y’all.
March 21st, 201212:44 pm
I’m hearing Hanson will also affect world peace with a bad performance!
March 21st, 201212:47 pm
Wow, Saints HC Payton suspended for the 2012-2013 season
Tebow traded to the Jets for a 4th rd pick…
March 21st, 20121:20 pm
When did Bochy say that? I am disappointed in JJ’s performance so far in spring. Even though he never has great springs, just figured he’d be out to prove things to himself and everybody else. He’s not a dud IMO though. He just needs to get over thinking about that knee. Once he does then he can locate all his stuff like before. Hope so anyway.
March 21st, 20121:37 pm
some guys pitch well with a brace, some never do
March 21st, 20122:32 pm
I want to see if I will fit in and can contribute to this blog?
I am negative, un-informed on baseball, pessimistic by nature, don’t keep up on Braves happenings very much, I am a drama queen, don’t understand spring training, don’t know what a managers job consists of, I have no rentention capability, and I like posting under 7 different names.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
