Quit fouling dammit!
March 16th, 20129:40 pm
I’d love to see a tourney where most if not all the highly ranked teams were upset. Let the small schools play for all the marbles.
I’m getting some serious religion following it on CBS Sportsline…………
March 16th, 20129:41 pm
Meanwhile, lehigh tries to give it back! Doofs…
March 16th, 20129:42 pm
10 guys, 2 hoops and 1 ball.. doesn’t matter how much $ your program has, all that matters is who can get the ball in the basket more than the other. Good job today mid majors. Love it!
March 16th, 20129:43 pm
Yes – Lehigh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tough break for George’s bracket – even I didn’t take them anywhere near that far…
Wow. Sorry Carroll, VJ, Ward, George and others.
What a day of hoops.
March 16th, 20129:44 pm
Quick – TruTV – St Marys Purdue
Personally, I have nothing against the school or Coach K. I think he is a great role model. But during the Laetner era, I had a sister in law that went to school there and I got sick of hearing how marvelous Duke was………….
March 16th, 20129:45 pm
I am pulling for whomever is playing against the teams that Obama picked.
March 16th, 20129:46 pm
[And we both know any average joe on the streets who got caught with that much pot would’ve been put in jail and they would’ve thrown away the key… _ Tomahawkin]
“Man that is a bunch of BS. Less than an ounce, first offense……. Probation, if that, at worst……. What planet do you live on that theses folks are going to jail?”
That “Put in Jail and thrown away the key” phrase was a phrase for an old show, and btw I live on a real planet, in the real world, and the Avg Joe would’ve got a lot more harsh criminal treatment as opposed to an entertainer/athlete who get slaps on the wrist for stuff like this, trust me. I have known people who were in the military who gotten kicked out for 1st offenses such like this.
And No offense but Try knowing innocent people in GA who get thrown under the GA B-Sht system for crimes like Schafer did before you call someone’s posts BS
Haven’t heard much talk about Venters so far. His numbers look worrisome–all the way back to the final month of last year. I hope Fredi didn’t ruin him.
Say what you want about Fredi’s foibles last year, the one thing that was utterly inexcusable was the way he gassed the pen–especially “everyday Jonny.”
March 16th, 20129:47 pm
Dang St. Mary’s…
March 16th, 20129:48 pm
Yay, I had Purdue!
March 16th, 20129:49 pm
That inning where no one put the bat on the ball against Venters was an eye-opener, for sure…
March 16th, 20129:50 pm
Jordan was in Florida…different laws…
March 16th, 20129:58 pm
I lived in Georgia for much longer than you have been alive. Military and civilian life have nothing to do with each other. I’m not saying no one ever gets screwed by the system, none the less, simple possession, first offense charges usually lead to probation or less. I long ago lost count of all the ” Average Joes” I know that got popped and did not go to jail. Easily in the hundreds though.
March 16th, 20129:59 pm
Earth to Phil
I don’t smoke pot now, though many years ago I did. I can tell you from experience that a pot high and a drunk are two different animals. I don’t know if you have ever been either drunk or stoned, you sound pretty young. If you haven’t, I highly recommend you don’t start. But if I had to choose to drive on the highways with either drunks or potheads, I choose potheads every time. You probably don’t understand what I’m saying but I fooled my parents many times when I was high on pot, but I could never have fooled them when drunk. Think about it.
March 16th, 201210:01 pm
Its not as bad as it used to be gettin popped in Ga or Fla but its still harsh
March 16th, 201210:05 pm
you should get your facts straight before making heavy accusations..ABW
yeah well he has a history of baseless accusations no doubt
March 16th, 201210:07 pm
In California, possessing 28.5 grams (a little over an ounce) or less is not even an arrest able offense…it is a “civil infraction” that can be fined only $100
March 16th, 201210:08 pm
No they would not. Less than an ounce is just a misdemeanor. First time offender would get a fine and probably probation.
Just so you know,The law here in Oklahoma has a very strict view of possession of even a joint.
It is a crime to knowingly or intentionally possess marijuana (including small amounts for personal use) in Oklahoma. In addition to a possible fine, the judge will sentence a defendant to up to a year in jail for a first offense, and between two and ten years in prison for a second or subsequent offense. (63 Ok. Stat. Ann. § 2-401.)
March 16th, 201210:10 pm
For those interested, here is a website that details all the state laws regarding marijuana laws:
March 16th, 201210:11 pm
Reminder to those who did not see the game earlier, the replay now on MLB, and the bottom of the first is upcoming…
March 16th, 201210:12 pm
Pendulums swing…….. The laws get more relaxed, then they get harsher, then they realize they are puting their own kids in jail and they swing again.
The Hag was right, they don’t smoke that stuff in Muskogee, or anywhere else in Okla either it seems
March 16th, 201210:14 pm
“Jordan was in Florida…different laws…”
“I know that he was in Florida at the time. I was making the correlation between an Athlete/Entertainer and an average joe
The Main part was that he was Blatantly Smoking and Driving while showing off, he got killed on here on Sports radio (The Chuck and Chernoff Show) Matt Chernoff Wasn’t a fan of Schafer as was I
You must really like the dude to defend him this much?
March 16th, 201210:15 pm
Again- NOT defending him. Just pointing out the facts. that is all.
Remind me to stay the hell out of Oklahoma, they might throw me in jail for my memories………. Good grief
March 16th, 201210:16 pm
Growing up in S. Ga in the 70’s all my football friends drank and drove and I don’t recall any of them getting into much trouble. Often times the police would just make you pour your stuff out. But they weren’t quite so friendly to my friends who got caught with less than an ounce. Not that they got sent up river or anything, but definitely treated more like criminals. Alot more misdemeanor arrests than with drinking and driving.
March 16th, 201210:17 pm
Someone getting hammered on talk radio, imagine that…….
March 16th, 201210:18 pm
I’m Dropping the Subject…Its opinion based…Still I don’t know why so many people still love Schafer on here and defend him…
Not to mention, I’m one of those who can’t stand Athletes/entertainers getting slapped on the wrists by the judicial system when they live Foul…Whereas the avg joe can’t get away with that (Exepletive)
March 16th, 201210:20 pm
No idea about the context. But I know that last summer, when I moved out of Oklahoma, I was ecstatic. Norman was fine, but it was a scary state.
March 16th, 201210:23 pm
Apparently, Moe, they’ll send a person to jail for a year there for posessing a single joint.
March 16th, 201210:26 pm
Bat–Really? Wow. Hated my time there. Think it to be a miserable place. I liked the brisket and steak, when I was there. But glad to get out. (Not that NJ is the greatest place, at all.)
March 16th, 201210:27 pm
w don’t smoke marijuana in Muskogee;
We don’t take our trips on LSD
We don’t burn our draft cards down on Main Street;
We like livin’ right, and bein’ free.
That was the Heyward swing we know and love.
March 16th, 201210:28 pm
For the last time- I never said anything about defending Jordan or anything he did. Just putting the actual facts out there. that is ALL.
March 16th, 201210:29 pm
There a town in alabama that will lock you up for a year for a doobie
March 16th, 201210:30 pm
I didn’t see anybody defending Schafer, simply refuting (typically) incorrect statements
March 16th, 201210:31 pm
March 16th, 2012
It does say up to a year…..most times in the paper they seem to get 30 to 90 days, but really if a person was silly enough to get caught with a single joint they probly need some time to sober up.
I just read the link cab posted, yes a year.
In Colorado you can have two or three ounces, nothing happens to you. Seems much more reasonable to me.
March 16th, 201210:32 pm
90 days to sober up? wow
March 16th, 201210:34 pm
Yeah I just looked on the link cab posted. Man they don’t kid around. Don’t sell pot in Oklahoma for gods sake.
March 16th, 201210:35 pm
March 16th, 201210:36 pm
March 16th, 2012
don’t need to think about it. 44. Old enough.
Congrats on fooling your parents. Way to go.
I was no angel but have always had enough sense to stay off the road when i should. Not something to be proud of hitting the highway high, drunk , half asleep, whatever. It’s all dangerous.
Schafer was a fool. Period.
March 16th, 201210:39 pm
Yeah, Simmons needs a nickname.
I like Slim.
Mainly for the 9th inning slixth plitcher of beer posts.
March 16th, 201210:41 pm
We like livin’ right, and bein’ free.
Well not free enough to smoke a little herb. How about drinking? Is that allowed?
March 16th, 201210:43 pm
Have some apple juice and a twix…
Hugo Z Hackenbush
March 16th, 201210:46 pm
What is this, the “High Times” website?
March 16th, 201210:49 pm
No but someone should send a link to Ears.
It’s a blog for Chipper and Monty bashers…
March 16th, 201210:50 pm
Anyone know what Gonzo has done this spring?
March 16th, 201210:51 pm
And jordan schafer defenders…

March 16th, 201210:53 pm
I’m kidding about monty…he was lecturing me earlier and i’m just bustin on him a bit.
March 16th, 201210:54 pm
.435 .458 .696 1.154 Gonzo
No idea what Gonzo has done. All my free time not spent getting stoned and driving around randomly has been spent fretting over the Braves pending demise.
March 16th, 201210:56 pm
nope, not kidding
March 16th, 201210:57 pm
Looks like Gonzo is a new man….for now.
Lol at Bat! I thought that was you walking the line the other night by that squad car.
March 16th, 201210:58 pm
Well good for him, too bad it’s meaningless.
But I’m sure his defense has gone downhill…
What’s all this weed tawk?
Someone got pinched?
March 16th, 201210:59 pm
I meant after the one bash….
March 16th, 201211:00 pm
looks like Simmons might be down in Tyler territory soon
Back then we referred to alcohol as “Oil” and did not drink the mess. Basically, you could smoke a joint and go to work, shopping and movies. In a sales environment and always looking for different ways to get sales the marijuana cleared your head and ideas just flowed. Now, this was back in 1979-1980s..so when you felt you were tripping others probably were too. It did not have any ranks in positions as such because at any time the supervisors – dept managers – and definitely the mail/copy room staff. Because after consumption the smell would go away and leave you in a good mood and feeling deep. Life was easy and we wanted nothing other than what we had then. The establishment messed up a lot of people when it was learned there is money to be had. Let’s say that the cool folks back then are the one’s in your corporation that smoked all the time.
March 16th, 201211:01 pm
Yep, I couldn’t walk the line and now I’m doing time.
Fortunately I have Internet access, in the joint, for the games.
March 16th, 201211:02 pm
It is indeed meaningless…
Why did I ask.
March 16th, 201211:03 pm
in the joint for a joint huh?
March 16th, 201211:05 pm
I like simmons….have yet to see pastor icky. Numbers look awful and talk on his D ain’t flattering.
March 16th, 201211:06 pm
Sad state of affairs, nolie. I miss the good old days when the cops would just take your pot for themselves and send you on your way with a lecture.
March 16th, 201211:07 pm
Bad, terrible person…
March 16th, 201211:09 pm
Now days, the cops just grow their own out back of city hall…

These rare wins make folks giddy.
March 16th, 201211:20 pm
Damn Bat, the beach, a hit, a smokin’ hot girl, what more could you ask for
March 16th, 201211:21 pm
This was not really a win – Jason’s grand slam does not really count since we know he’ll be worthless all year…
March 16th, 201211:22 pm
Not much, Trader.
Living free and easy on the Emerald Coast.
March 16th, 201211:23 pm
Dadgumit, McFanned it.
March 16th, 201211:26 pm
Well it might be meaningless but it was still a win, VJ.
Al kidding aside it’s nice to see Heyward hitting the ball hard. I hope he keeps it up.
March 16th, 201211:27 pm
Al, all, whatever
March 16th, 201211:35 pm

I don’t know what the hell is going on, but as I was catching up on the blog comments, I was, suddenly, overwhelmed by this incredibly, irresistible urge to munch on all things munchable.
March 16th, 201211:39 pm
Tom – entirely cab’s fault for having to point out the error of someone’s way…
March 16th, 201211:43 pm
actually when i was in school we used to raid the (across the street) caldwell hall food machine.
nothing better than rudy’s farm microwaved sausage and biscuit to go along with a large mayfield dairy chocolate milk.
March 16th, 201211:44 pm
Ears is the life of the party.
March 16th, 201211:45 pm
damn, thats sounds good, uga
IT WAS NOT MY FAULT! I cannot control the direction of the blog! (I wish I had that power…that would be way cool)
March 16th, 201211:48 pm
I read that, VJ. Unfortunately, the person held on to their beliefs, even in the face of the facts.
There’s a phrase that describes that…. but I can’t recall what it is.
bat, nothing finer then rudy’s and chocolate milk.
March 16th, 201211:49 pm
I still refuse to take credit for the direction the blog went…
cmon X men.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
