Schafer was stupid and irresponsible to drive while smoking, and also while carrying that much on him, but I don’t fault him for smoking in and of itself. Nothing wrong with it really IMO.

What you said that was inaccurate was exactly what I commented on in the 2 posts after you made yours. He was not, in fact, suspended after he came up- it was BEFORE the 2009 season. It was actually the first 50 games of the 2008 season, when he was still in the minors. Also- it was not a “Sh*t load” of pot, like you said. It was less than an ounce in a bag and 3 small peanut butter cups. That is what was inaccurate. I do not have a problem with your opinion of him as a player.

See all the PNC Bank ads – well, that’s my new employer. They acquired RBC Bank as of March 5, 2012, and I was part of that acquisition. With all this sponsorship, I’m hoping they’ll pay for a company outing to Turner Field this year. Would make sense, right? And maybe better than outfield seats since they are SPONSORING! One of the previous owning banks took us and got outfield seats. I mean, they could get us all PNC/Braves shirts to wear so we look like a group.
Can you tell I want to go to more than 5 games this season? Well, I should get at least 6 since I know I am in the first 1000 to register for the license plate.

I’m a pretty conservative woman with a very strong Christian Faith. But having worked in womens prison ministry for 3 years, I can say that there are way too many people in prison for having a small amount of marijuna, similar to the amounts Jordan had on him. I have never and will never smoke weed – I don’t like the smell and it turns my stomach. But, I don’t believe someone caught with less tthan an amount that qualifies to be “with intention to sell” should be sent to prison. I like Gov. Deal’s stance on the drug courts, and it appears they are working.

Dale Murphy does a great job as an analyst and commentator. He tells interesting stories, doesn’t pretend that every player is his best bud, and he has not lost touch with the game. That’s called class and he has always had it.

Oh you want to at it? Ok, well, Major League or Minor League…I don’t care, he’s a professional baseball player…he got busted for PED’s and Mary Jane in a span of 2-3 years? Not Good
And we both know any average joe on the streets who got caught with that much pot would’ve been put in jail and they would’ve thrown away the key…Stop making excuses for a entertainer/athletes, they get free passes all the time as opposed to the average person…As liberal as I am I don’t put up with it or make excuses

After he was stopped, police say Schafer admitted smoking marijuana and that he had more in the vehicle. A subsequent search turned up less than an ounce in a plastic container and a small amount inside “three small marijuana peanut butter cups,” according to the police report.
Again…not that much pot.

Term Paper?? That’s a distant memory. I wrote my obligatory senior English term paper back in ‘73 for a teacher who hated my guts. I was a pain in the back side, so I can’t blame her, God rest her soul. Made a C.
Two years later when he was a senior, my brother copied my term paper “word for word” and turned it in to the same teacher. Got a B+. But he was a suck up………..
